Hello all! I'm excited to be at the table with you :)

Thank you so much for picking me! I'm super excited for this game and looking forward to playing with everyone.

I'll be working on the full character build tonight/tomorrow morning. (I know what feats/traits I want, but need to look at equipment and get everything formatted.)

Male Ant AC 18 Hp 42/42 Perception +5 low-light vision, scent Status: Endure Elements Focus: Beetle Gnome Hunter 4 AC 22 (T15FF18) CMD 17| hp 35/34| Saves F7R9W3 | Low-Light Vision Percep +10 | Init: +4 | Status: Endure Elements

Thank you for the opportunity to play in the snow!

I was in a RoW PbP years ago, but it died while we were still 1st level. Been waiting for this chance again!

Barnaby will be a slowish melee build; being my initial AC build, I wanted to try it out. It appears that the Hunter is AC focused, so should be an effective combo when added together.

I like his versatility as a class. Druid was my initial thought; but, alas, I have played many the druid...lol.

I look forward to venturing out into the Winter Wonderland that is coming....

Any questions, or concerns?

Hey guys! Happy to be here! Thanks for inviting me, GM :)

Kandoo is our resident paladin! A little on the crazy side, but aren’t we all?

Please, if there’s any questions or concerns, feel free to bring up and I’ll address and adjust accordingly.

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

Hello everyone! Thanks for choosing me, GM. Rimesong is mostly a talker, but he also has some neat utility spells and is rather shooty.

I've not yet decided whether to stick with Point-Blank Shot or go for something like Lingering Performance, because his Raging Song isn't quite as potent as the default Skald's. It also doesn't have any penalties, though.

Paladin/6

I noticed we have all of the Knowledge skills covered except Nobility. Is it worth putting a point into? Tegan could pick it up at level 2.

I think my character sheet is just about done. I bought a few more items and added an origin location to Tegan's background. This is my first time playing a Wizard. I plan to focus on Conjuration for the utility. I was considering Augment Summoning over Improved Initiative but I'm unsure.

Barnaby and Rimesong, are you two planning on being our eagle eyes and putting points into Perception every level? Tegan's Perception is only +1 :( I'm used to playing Perceptive characters so I feel a little out of my element

GM Dread, do you want us to keep track of silver and copper pieces? Same question for weight?

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

I've not yet fully decided whether Rimesong will go full-on perception, but I suspect he will.

Female CG Human Witch (Cartomancer) 1 | HP 6/7 | AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 11 | CMB -1, CMD 12 | Fort +0, Ref +3, Will +2 (+1 vs enchantments) | Initiative +3 | Perception: +0 | Speed 30 ft. | Active Conditions: None

I put points in Perception/Sense Motive out of habit, but I'm considering just not bothering. Those skill points might be better spent on K. Nobility and K. History, (which I think we're also missing).

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

I do feel like I should have points in at least one Knowledge skill, but everyone else seems to have taken it as well. xD It was a toss-up between Religion, Arcana, and Nature.

I'm not sure what's gonna happen there...

Female CG Human Witch (Cartomancer) 1 | HP 6/7 | AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 11 | CMB -1, CMD 12 | Fort +0, Ref +3, Will +2 (+1 vs enchantments) | Initiative +3 | Perception: +0 | Speed 30 ft. | Active Conditions: None

The downside of having a witch, wizard, and skald all in the same party :)

I don't think there's anything wrong with doubling up on knowledge skills. Religion might be a good one; I think Tegan's the only one with points in it.

For the curious, I went through people's character sheets and the following skills are unrepresented:

Acrobatics, Appraise, Climb, Disable Device, Disguise, Escape Artist, Fly, Heal, Intimidate, K. History, K. Nobility, Sleight of Hand, Swim

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

I think our thus-far yet to arrive Warpriest of Torag also has it, logically.

Female CG Human Witch (Cartomancer) 1 | HP 6/7 | AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 11 | CMB -1, CMD 12 | Fort +0, Ref +3, Will +2 (+1 vs enchantments) | Initiative +3 | Perception: +0 | Speed 30 ft. | Active Conditions: None
Prepared Spells:

*slaps forehead* You are of course correct. Still, I stand by my statement about there being nothing wrong with doubling (or tripling) up on knowledge skills.

One thing to note...I don't believe our Paladin has put his skill points in yet.

And when making my decisions, knowing not many classes get disable device as a class skill, I noted he chose Demon Spawn

Demon-Spawn (Pitborn)
Source Blood of Fiends pg. 20
Pitborn delight in destruction, especially while unleashing their havoc on what others consider valuable or precious. Perhaps because of this volatility, others tend to simply defer to pitborn, an act that often grants them the dominance they crave.

Ancestry Demon
Typical Alignment CE
Ability Modifiers +2 Str, +2 Cha, –2 Int
Alternate Skill Modifiers Disable Device, Perception
Alternate Spell-Like Ability Pitborn gain shatter as a spell-like ability.

So his character gets +2 to perception and Disable Device instead of bluff and stealth.

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

Hm, that could be handy, yes.

I think I'll go for Knowledge (religion)...

Debating on switching out Point-Blank Shot for Lingering Performance or Extra Performance. I'm just not sure it's worth the feat - especially if I'm focusing on shooting rather than inspiration. That said, I'm not finalizing my decision yet.

Female CG Human Witch (Cartomancer) 1 | HP 6/7 | AC 14, touch 13, flat-footed 11 | CMB -1, CMD 12 | Fort +0, Ref +3, Will +2 (+1 vs enchantments) | Initiative +3 | Perception: +0 | Speed 30 ft. | Active Conditions: None

I have tentatively taken skill points out of Perception/Sense Motive and put them into Heal and K. History. Other than possible further skill point switcharoos, my character sheet is done.

Anyone want to have a connection before the game starts? Ylena's been in Heldren for about a year now. Her days are occupied helping her father and stepmother, (which often involves running errands around town.) Her nights are mostly spent at the local inn offering to read people's fortunes.

And here I was thinking that you pick us because we all speak Sylvan...lol.

Yes, I am planning on keeping Perception maxed. He is a Hunter, afterall. Wisdom is his casting Stat; so I am treating him as a ranger/druid as for as Skills to be maxed. He will be our Scout.

His AC is also Trained in Perception. I am debating having his other Skill Acrobatics (currently), Stealth or Survival (because of Scent). I am leaning Acrobatics to better get into Flanks, but @4th that wouldn't be as important...

I did notice that we are lacking in Disable Device; but, if our Paly will go that route; we are covered...

Knowledge is power (imo); so I am happy that we cover them all; even if tripled up!

@Rimesong (love the name btw) I am not that familiar with Twilight Speaker, but it depends on our Wizard. If Tegan plans on taking Morale Bonus Spells that would overlap with your Song? You can always Retrain, if you decide to reverse step later.

It would overlap with the saving throw bonus, but not the attack roll one, which is competence. That said, I do get bless and the Community Domain at 2nd level, so...

Hm. I guess I'll go for Extra Performance, then, with the possibility of retraining should things go south.

Hey guys! Unfortunately, INT became my dump stat, as much as I love skills. In a party with a witch, a wizard and a skald, though, it hopefully won’t be an issue :) My skill point went on acrobatics, despite being negative, believe it or not! In melee characters I always try to reach at least 3 points there for more effectively fighting defensively. Please don’t count with me for skills :$ in top of all, disable device and perception aren’t class skills for paladins.

In terms of knowledge, considering the adventure path, I would imagine nature and planes might be even more important than the usual, but honestly I think we won’t have issues with any of these rolls!

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

That does leave us without a reliable means of getting rid of traps and locks. Well, barring brute force - at least until we can cast 2nd level spells and get knock or suchlike.

I was thinking that with my AC being a big part of this class; perhaps, I should create a separate alias for him?
Whenever I play classes with ACs or Familiars; I only use them for comedic relief.
Ant-icipation will be used extensively. Could just play it by ear, I suppose.

Edit: I could take a Trait for Disable Device? He has the Dex and Skill Rants to make the adjustments.

Just to clarify, and my own preference, is that my mixed/melee characters, I prefer to be at the back of the party for movement.

This provides a non squishy person at the back for a bit of protection, and I can move as fast as someone in heavy armour, to allow me to move up to the front.

As for the watch order, I prefer generally prefer last shift.

And for info, I don't have my characters sleep in armour, so it takes a bit of time for him to get ready.

for everyone- dont forget we are using background skills too.

and for whoever wants....this may help- Trait- Vagabond Child You grew up among the outcasts and outlaws of your society, learning to forage and survive in an urban environment.

Benefits: Select one of the following skills: Disable Device, Escape Artist, or Sleight of Hand. You gain a +1 trait bonus on checks with that skill, and it is always a class skill for you.

and for the Pally...you still get the +2 to those two skills.

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

I'd take the trait, but it really doesn't fit Rimesong's backstory...

these are the traits that give the skill...

Criminal (Basic--Social) in Ultimate Campaign (not yet added to PFS Additional Resources).

Gold Finger (Campaign (Pathfinder Society, Qadira faction))--also grants +1 on Sleight of Hand.

Nimble Fingers, Keen Mind (Religion--Brigh)--in Faiths of Balance.

Vagabond Child (Regional--Urban)--in the Advanced Player's Guide and Ultimate Campaign.

Wisdom in the Flesh (Religion--Irori)--in the Advanced Player's Guide and Ultimate Campaign; this trait also has you use Wisdom in place of Strength or Dexterity for whichever skill you select it for.

I can avoid taking Morale Bonus Spells with a Witch and Scald in the party and focus on damage and controlling the field. I had planned on using Summon Monster as an easy flank bonus for melee. I recognize Witch is a fantastic support class. I don’t really know anything about Scalds

Page 7 of The Player’s Guide says “Heldren is a small village of 171 people, mostly farmers, herders, and woodcutters.” I read your backstory and I think your character has reason to know Tegan’s Aunt Elin, a farmer, who probably would have introduced Tegan and her mother. Elin mostly grows vegetables but has a small chicken coop for eggs.

Tegan and her mother, Efa, stay with her Aunt Elin during holidays and make occasional visits. Efa and Elin are actually identical twins, although only Efa is capable of magic. Efa sells scrolls and her magical abilities, which involves traveling to various towns in Taldor, renting the most affordable sleeping quarters.

these are the traits that give the skill...

I assume other Campaign Traits for Disable Device are off the table?

we can always re-skin the campaign traits.

My current plan is to do Extra Performance at least until I have a reasonable number of rounds without it, at which point I may want to retrain.

But until then, I will have some good performance rounds.

I've also grabbed CLW, because I think with as many squishies as we have, we probably want more than the warpriest and paladin's healing.

Rorgar's is upthread, too, GM.

thx

I'd forgotten about Background Skills! Tegan picked up Knowledge Nobility and Perception. I just feel weird about not having ranks in Perception.

~*~*~*~

I think perhaps someone who is planning on leveling up their Dex should be the designated Disable Device person. I know Barnaby and Rimesong already volunteered. Tegan could, but her Dex will probably be a stagnant +2

Tegan has 32g she can contribute to Masterwork Thieves Tools

Since GM is kind enough to reskin Trap Finder, with a +3 Dex and MW Thieves Tools we'll have a +9 to Disable Device at level 1. (Or a +8 with +2 Dex)

also dont forget the free feats...Scribe Scroll, Deadly Aim, Power Attack, Combat expertise...if you have the pre-requisities.

all casters will be able to scribe scrolls.
all with BAB +1 will get power attack and deadly aim.
all with 13 int get combat expertise.

That makes my life a bit easier, as that is 2 feats that I will not have to grab. :)

So with Scribe scroll given, what is your thought on the other crafting feats??

Mine? or the others?

Male Chaotic Good Snowcaster Elf Skald (Twilight Speaker) 6

I am not sure why Skalds get Scribe Scroll for free, but they do. Odd, I know, but true.

@ GM, I was wondering if you were going to allow them.

Some don't, which is why I was asking.

sure. they are on the table.

Alls well that...err...begins well!

I adjusted Barnaby's Traits and Skills. With our GM's permission, I took Trap Finder and shuffled a Rank for Disable Device +8. He even had enough for common thieves' tools!

Barnaby is now your Scout and Trapper!
Everything is in his Profile.
I do like to play trappers!

Paladin/6

Yay! Thank you Barnaby <3
