Arlo Rumble |
"By Gozreh's soggy beard! I might've been too optimistic about that... but he's nearly down, we can do this!"
Arlo strides over to provide first aid to Drizzic.
Battle Medicine, DC15: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Healing for Drizzic: 2d8 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
"Come on Drizzic, I have faith in you. One good hit should do it."
Arlo then moves over to potentially help Muzzo next round.
Drizzic, you're awake again, try to finish him off!
Eithrim Navarre |
Is it supposed to have come down from Dais to open our heads like a ripe melon?
Navarre takes strength from weakness and grabs his guisarme fiercely and throws a deep thrust at the strange demon, skewering him while he angrily shouts "I will return you to the hell from which you should never have spawned"
◆: Quickdrawn weapon
◆◆: Power Attack
+1 striking guisarme attack + power attack+flank: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
damage: 3d10 + 6 ⇒ (5, 8, 3) + 6 = 22
Anjo Aroh |
Navarre probably got it done, but what the hell
Hunted Shot 1 w Damage: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 = 10
Hunted Shot 2 w Damage: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 2 = 11
Strke 3 w Damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (1, 8) + 2 = 11 Deadly: 1d10 ⇒ 2
Strke 4 w Damage: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (4, 1) + 2 = 7

Eithrim forgot to apply +1 from Inspire Courage - and that would change this hit to critical (AC 24) - bum the power of the Bard. Woooooooooooohhhh! Ok got overexcited here :D And +1 to damage
GM redeux |
Correct, +1 and flank (already applied) turns it to critical.
And send them back to hell Navarre does. Anjo launches another flurry of arrows; one hitting the devil in the wing and the other right in the eye a hit and crit!. Navarre simultaneously swings his guisarme and decapitates the Ascendant with a ferocious swipe. Crit! As the Ascendant's body falls to the ground, a burst of red energy causes the remaining corpse to explode into hundreds of pieces. Ghostly energy also begins pouring back into the remnants of the Trading Post which still barely stands overhead. Walls and floorboards creek as they seem near to giving away. The group has little time to bring Muzzo on his feet again and complete the destruction ritual without further complication. As soon as the artifact is destroyed the trading post walls tremble even more and a moment later the entire building collapses. For RP you can do a DC 20 acrobatics, athletics, or survival check so see if you escape without taking damage. On a crit fail you are buried beneath the rubble. In either case, the group, Selik, and the other NPCs will pitch together to pull anyone out before dying
As the sun rises over the ruins of Devil's Rest, the group gathers to take stock of their injuries. You notice a flash of red beating wings against the dawn sky as Zirzip zooms away to enjoy his newfound freedom. This is confirmation that Linneus has been defeated once and for all.
Maeri, who passed the night in the stable tending her faithful horses, surveys the destruction with a stoic expression and remarks, "I reckon we'd best head back to Nerosyan". Selik thanks the group for the supplies. Annavinnia and Nordvick are both appreciative of protecting them throughout the night. Annavinnia seems like she will stop her search too create her own wish-granting artifact after seeing what went wrong with her ancestor and Dehliana. Nordvick seems like he wants to try to rebuild Devil's Rest "without the Devil"
It takes most of the day to return to Nerosyan where you reunite with Venture-Captain Jorsal of Lauterbury to report your findings. He listens intently to your report and is in particular relieved that no deal with a devil was made. Overall he is impressed with your efforts and indicates he has no doubts that the Farheaven Clan, Eando Kline, and other groups dedicated to eradicating corruption will be equally impressed. "As word spreads, your success is certain to inspire new alliances" he adds.
Aaaannnnnd that's a wrap! C-O-N-G-R-A-T-S!

Muzzo Sharptooth |
acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Muzzo opened his eyes to the sight of Arlo leaning over him again, and the taste of demon blood in his mouth. "We win?" croaked the goblin, aching everywhere. His rage had left him while he was unconscious, and his face had returned to normal, though he was still missing a few teeth. He sat up, shaking his head slowly from side to side to try and remove some of the cobwebs. The following events played on in a bit of a blur, as Muzzo dealt with the remains of a concussion. He even helped dig others out of the rubble of the inn after it collapsed.
In all, it was a successful trip, and the next time Muzzo raged, all the rest of his aches and pains vanished. "Good friends. Good Fight. Good Mission." The goblin couldn't give much better praise than that.
Arlo Rumble |
Survival: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Arlo manages to dig his way out, and a weight falls off his shoulders, both literally and figuratively. He's glad to be outside again. He makes sure everyone else gets outside safely and treats anyone who's still wounded, then grabs his bedroll and falls asleep under the night sky.
The next morning, he's up early and starts making soup over a campfire for everyone. He's cheerful enough, but you get the sense he's trying hard to keep morale high. Once back on the road though, he actually livens up and walks back to Neyrosian with a spring in his step. After the debriefing he thanks his teammates and immediately heads out of town into the wilderness, whistling a cheerful tune as he heads to his next destination...

"What a mess! I certainly hope you had some insurance or rainy day money for this, Nordvick. Weeeeeellll, if you do want to rebuild I have some contacts for supplies and we can throw in some vial's of holy water to keep things like that from happening again, yeah?" Drizzic starts in on the once innkeeper, wasting no time or breaths on the near death experience he just had. After giving him an earful and a few business pamphlets he returns to the group of Pathfinders.
"It was a pleasure working with you all. Crazy night! Crazier than my last few missions for sure. Everyone alright?"
