[Outpost IV][PFS2] #2-00: The King in Thorns (Inactive)

Game Master Ilmakis

Subtiers 3-4

In the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse, a large group of Pathfinders stands ready to travel beyond a magical gateway whose mysteries stymied a group of the Pathfinder Society's founders. What lies beyond the doorway is also the crux of the plot of an ancient evil fey, the Thorned Monarch. Will the Pathfinders unlock lost fey magic, restore buried secrets from the Society's history, and purge the world of the Monarch's evil, or will they fall before the fey's minions and tricks?

The ritual is a success and Gregaro Voth is free! The demiplane can’t control him any longer.

GMs, the Gregaro Voth Free condition on page 18 is in effect.

Suddenly, there is a strange shaking, like an earthquake rippling through the ground and air alike. The plants in the demiplane begin to grow and change. Oraiah Tolal calls out, “They’re here! The Thorned Monarch has arrived in the demiplane! And they’re not alone. We have an invasion to fight!”

GMs, this is your 1-day warning. Please wrap up your current encounters and prepare to move to Part 3.

In the interest of moving the token along, I'd like to use the healing effect to get us more or less patched up for the next part.

"Yes... good thing we made... quick... work of them."

He staggers as the ground begins to shake, then quickly takes a fighting stance with his cold-iron blade at the ready. Upon hearing Oraiah's call he grins. "Sounds like they're pissed. Invasion... good thing we've got a ton of pathfinders today eh?"

He cracks his knuckles and shouts out, not just to his immediate allies but all of the pathfinders in the vicinity. "Alright friends, let's make this boring. Just another day in the life of a pathfinder. The days you remember are the days you lose limbs, witness the deaths of civilians, and lose friends. If we do this right, then today will just be another page of the Pathfinder Chronicles. The rest of Golarion will sleep well at night never knowing how close they may have come to fey tyranny, and for us it will be just another in a long line of tales to tell at the bar."

Hopper would ride on Wolfie slowly standing next to Marcus. The Goblin would keep his sickle unsheathed laying its weight on his shoulder. Hopper would try to look all serious and ready for business. It might have worked if not for the fact that Wolfie started to yawn.

Hopper leans to Marcus when he is done and shares in a hushed voice

"Nicely said, Marcus. Let's hope that we will survive this and have the rest of the Golarion to buy us drinks for what we did here." says Hopper trying o mask the fact that he was scared like never in his 10-year long lifetime.

The waiting never was his strong suit. He reaches for his belt and takes out an alchemist firebomb. He uncorks the bottle and pours few drops on his hands, and rubs it in.

The smell of burned skin and flesh can be smelled in the nearest proximity

"GOT YA!" yells Lydia as she rips her sword through the creature and watch it collapse on the ground. about time, too....

She turns around to the group, a huge smile on her face that quickly straightens when she sees her teammates still wounded. Lydia rushes over to Kazikli and Natesh, "Here, This might help..." she whispers while Marcus gives his motivational speech.

She then takes out a lesser healing potion from their mission provisions, Hp recovered Kazikli: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (1, 1) + 5 = 7
If you need more I can assurance battle medicine for another 2d8 but that'd be your 1x battle medicine from me for the day

Preparing for the next battle, Lydia cleans her swords and then puts one away. She gives Hopper a curious look at first, but ultimately ignores the smell of burnt flesh. "I have a good feeling about this..." she says to him as she draws the last mad mutagen moderate drakeheart.

Frogger sits down. "Welp. Maybe I'm getting old. Or maybe the gods don't like me." He holds his head in his hands. Viney, his leshy familiar, climbs out and reassures Frogger. "You're right Viney. I just need to double down and practice more."

Turning to the others, "Does anyone else need healing?".

"I admit I was lucky. I'm sorry Kazikli, your magic protected me, but I couldn't offer much help to you." Natesh does look shamed as at the admission. "Next time I assure you I will do better."

If given the opportunity, Natesh would spend time to Refocus to regain a Focus Point.

Aside from that, unless I'm wrong, I believe the healing from Lydia might have restored us to full aside Kazikli's lingering poison.

"Everyone has their place on the field," Kazikli replies, wincing as he steps closer to talk. "Everyone here attended to one, and did it well."

The half-orc nods approvingly after Marcus is done. "A good speech. To the point, certainly. The fey would want to dance around that, as well as the fact that we have the advantage."

**HOUSE GM ANNOUNCEMENT**

As the last of the fey attackers fall, a sudden, eerie silence descends over the demiplane. A vision of a green moth—their body composed of thorny vines and their eyes burning with alien malevolence—clouds the eyes of each Pathfinder, and a sinister
voice rings in every ear.

“You have stolen my crown and invaded my domain. I have destroyed civilizations for lesser slights. None of you shall leave this place alive!”

GMs, please begin Part 3.

"Ah, the threats of a megalomaniac. Does he realize that greater slights are actually indicative of... you know... a real threat? As in one that can't be waved away like said civilizations who were only able to muster up lesser slights? Although if he is simply aiming to demoralize our arrayed forces before we begin I guess I can't blame him. It's the sort of think I would do after all."

He faces the direction of the booming voice and brings his cold-iron blade up vertically in front of his face, then sweeps it down and to the side in a traditional fencing salute.

"I don't suppose he will be much interested in a standard bout of regulated dueling? Collegiate fencing rules? I most certainly hope not..."

His eyes turn jet black as he scans the area for new auras (Detect Magic) as he mutters something that sounds like a curse or an oath in Aklo.

Kazikli doesn't look fazed by the great voice's pronouncement. He replies to no one in particular, as if he expects it to hear him back. "The odds aren't important, nor is what power the enemy wields. What matters is that I'm fulfilling the role of a Magic Warrior, protecting the Mwangi and far beyond from this evil. But even so the odds are still stacked well towards us."

The half-orc isn't as blustery when a fight rolls around soon after, though. He conjures up another mephit early to avoid a repeat of last time.
