[Outpost IV][PFS2] #2-00: The King in Thorns (Inactive)

Game Master Ilmakis

Subtiers 3-4

In the jungles of the Mwangi Expanse, a large group of Pathfinders stands ready to travel beyond a magical gateway whose mysteries stymied a group of the Pathfinder Society's founders. What lies beyond the doorway is also the crux of the plot of an ancient evil fey, the Thorned Monarch. Will the Pathfinders unlock lost fey magic, restore buried secrets from the Society's history, and purge the world of the Monarch's evil, or will they fall before the fey's minions and tricks?

Frogger immediately recognize the medium creature as a Grimstalker, a powerful fey creature with several natural spell earthbind, wall of thorns, entangle, pass without trace, tree shape, tanglefoot . Their claws are poisonous but they have a weakness against cold iron.

The other smaller creatures, are Jinkins, far less powerful fey than the Grimstalker, able to use to do some precision damages like a rogue.

Lydia also nods, raises her last mutagen, and drinks it as a toast. She smiles as the drakeheart mutagen once again quickly begins running through her body. She draws her second sword and steps forward, remaining close to her teammates. Her crimson armor once again starts emitting smoke as her skin scorches and becomes scaly. With her hands, neck and face exposed, they begin to visibly show the scales forming. She feels the searing heat inside of her and she becomes more aware of her surroundings; her eyes develop an ever-intense look to them.

"If this is it, let's make it a good one!" she roars with the last of the smoke expelling from her body. Her smile turns to a smirk as she anticipates the battle. And make it count

Natesh has difficult avoiding the reaching roots and brambles. Seeking any sort of help the wizard's first inclination is to turn to the mutagen again. Following Marcus's call, Natesh stammers out, "b-bottoms up."

Once more Natesh's skin turns a crimson red as scales form across his body and. His ears become sharper as the transformation takes hold. The plant life still holds and restrains Natesh, but as he drops the container he is no longer wavering against them. He holds resolute as the bit of smoke billows from his grinning mouth. "More plants? Fine. You keep giving the same problems I'll keep giving the same answers." He loses a bit of magical flame as it rolls between his fingers.

"First though, best ensure to sharpen our blades. Lydia, if you may?" Natesh casts an incantation and once more casts an enchantment for magical blades attempting to bolster Lydia's weapons.

Hopper was laughing like a mad man when the first blow came. It was fast as lightning and the sheer strength almost took him off, Wolfie. Maybe it was the runes on his armor that stoped the blow from splitting him in half. Just as the realization that he underestimated the foe broke through the urge to burn, he got hit for the second time. The blow was equally strong and fast.

Hopper did not have a chance to respond. He just fell to the ground, with his eyes wide open.

As soon as the Grimstalker is in view, the Pathfinders are in furry!

A bomb, and several kinetic projectile flews at the fey who falls dead a few second later!

Congrats!

Other Pathfinders continue to fight elsewhere, but everything around here is now calm.

What do you want to do? Have another fight? In this case we need to clear Lydia's poison (duration is 6 round and the stage 3 is the worst) and you will have 10mn to rest.
Or we can stop here :)

She then sluggishly waves Hopper over and tries to work on their wounds. She has little to say; her scales still showing as she silently works, but the scales slowly shed as the 10 minutes pass.

Lydia is good either way. Have 1 lesser healing potion left from school supplies and can still battle medicine everyone here. No more drakeheart. And sad I didn't get to make use of the magic Weapon! The action economy wasn't really working out due to needing to manage keeping myself up and seek/stride/strike/step away

With the threat dealt with for now, Kazikli kicks any remaining plant matter from his robes. "Good work. I have no doubt we're still strong enough to alleviate the others' work for a while longer. The worst will reveal itself before we're spent."

GM: Do we retain any of the temporary hit points we got at the start of the previous fight? I'm fine in any case, but wanted to make sure my hit points were accurate.

Natesh gloats a bit as he helps bring down the sulking menace before his scales fall off. Even as he responds a bit more sheepishly to his antics, he does take note of the battle raging around the area. "I... I think I should look to rearranging my spell preparations. I was prepared for climbing, but I don't think that would help here or offer any easy escape if the other preperations fell through." He grants the remaining mutagen as he dives into his spellbook for the remaining bit of rest as the quickly tries to cram the arcane sigils into his mind.

When faced with the apes Natesh murmurs to Kazili, "you ... you are certain they are mundane? For a time I thought that of the horse and that ... turned out poorly."

Natesh glances behind himself for hidden attackers before declaring, "I shall take prudence over anything else this time and not rush to approach them."

With an wave and a draw of his hand he conjures a mystical shimmers bolt of caustic energy. Then he releases it like a bow sting and sends the energy flying at one of the charging gorillas.
