[Outpost IV][SFS] #3-06: Rise of the Vault Lord

Game Master Ilmakis

A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 7-10.

During a routine investigation on the false moon of Salvation's End, the PCs encounter an emissary from the vault's mysterious guiding intelligence. Directed to stop an ongoing invasion of another vault, the PCs find themselves caught in the middle of a conflict that could determine the fate of the false moon. Only through the PCs' actions can the machinations of the mysterious Vault Lord be halted.

Compucast snarls as he arises from his knocked down position. Quickly he tries to pull the golem away from the rest of the group and toward the back corner of the arena.

"I'll keep this bag of bolts busy, the rest of you try to finish off that periastra.." calls out Compucast.

Provokes from standing, but trying to keeps the golems attention, no idea what sort of check that would be.

And Mr focefield regenerates three hp for me. Yay.

I almost forgot Benoit's dented kasa! He uses a reaction and spends two resolve points to negate the critical hit damage from the periastra. He takes 23 less damage. Wish he wasn't flat footed when the robot critted him or he could have used a reaction to negate that critical hit damage also.

The Periatra's graviton crush lands squarely on Benoit's head, but his seemingly old and worn out helmet absorbs the blow, leaving a dent, but stopping it from damaging Benoit severely.

He went 25 ft north and and 10 ft east - he started adjacent to the worm, at SW

Benoit evades some of the crushing damage, but can’t escape the gravity grasp of the equinoxian periastra - nor can he or his drone land an attack against the assassin robot!

Benoit Battlestar wrote:

Benoit is only Aware of Location, he would need to be Observing to ignore the concealment - that requires vision or blindsight, or something equivalent

Apologies to all for vanishing on you the last week or so. Got drawn away by RL right as things were picking up here.

One thing that I just want to check: When I used Inspiring Oration, I believe that also gets me back 35 SP as well (since I count as my own ally). So I was at 83 damage (0 SP & 56 HP) when I did that, which took me up to 35 SP & 56 HP. Then I took 28 ... so 7 SP & 56 HP, right?

Welcome back! Envoy improvisations have this caveat though: “If an improvisation allows you to grant an effect to an ally, you cannot grant yourself that effect unless the improvisation states otherwise.” And no improvs on the ‘inspiring’ tree have such a statement - that's one of the reasons I really dislike inspiring boost when playing an envoy - though I really like it when someone else in the group has it.

Gab shakes off the robotic takeover and goes to town on the equinoxian periastra!

And don’t worry about the haste circuit, Compucast hasted everyone at the beginning of combat, that’s 9 rounds worth of haste
