For the Guard (Mouse Guard)

Game Master Signore di Fortuna

I'll post character creation stuff here by the end of the day, at least.

I'm lazy, read the book.

Okay, sorry it took me so long to post here. I guess I was sort of distracted this weekend.

So, sleepy.

I'd read this book faster if I wasn't being harassed by a moose-sized dog every other time I opened it, lol.

Maybe I'll get a chance to read it at some point when I don't have to keep an adorable yet time consuming baby. My weekend was over before I knew it, and I spent most of it taking care of the baby. I guess that's the nice thing about not having kids of our own. I actually have time to help Brandi when she really needs it, and at the end of the night I can send them home and relax.

Seems like the system is light on numbers, but heavy on character and roleplay.

So far, I've decided I want to set the game in 1160. It's pretty far outside established canon and will give me a chance to take some liberties.

You'll have to decide among yourselves if you want to start as rookies or have some experience. It really doesn't give you an advantage, but helps me figure out a starting point.

I'm sorry it's taking me so long to look through stuff for Mouse Guard. Between work, Dr appts, family drama, and taking care of her baby almost nonstop for the last couple of weekends, plus thed Mon and Tues night stays over there to watch him until she gets home, I've jyst been exhausted.

I'm good with whatever anyone else wants to do, experience wise aznd all that.

I'll get around to it soon

No rush. I still have a lot left to read.

Well, now I'm home for a week and should be taking advantage of it to take it easy and stuff....it's just never been easy for me to relax.

Gonna try to make a character this weekend

Lots and lots of info to wade through

Okay, so I've been giving it some thought, and I think I'm gonna be a science type mouse from Sprucetuck. Her parents really believe in astronomical signs and wot not, so when their daughter was born under the full moon, they took it as some kind of sign or something.

I haven't worked out all the details yet, but I thought maybe she could be good at making elixers and that sort of stuff? Maybe they taught her about the stars or something? I don't know for sure yet, but what do you guys think?

So....not sure how much time the rest of us have had to look at this stuff, but I was just wanting to try and get everyone's thoughts on this whole Mouse Guard idea and see if y'all were still interested.

I know Bubba said his computer went blue screen on him, so I don't know if he's been able to get it fixed or not, or anything like that.

I'm trying to figure out just exactly what my mouse would do? I was thinking maybe her parents worked on the potions they use to make the scent for the boarders and maybe taught her about the stars? I know I want her to be a kind of science mouse from Sprucetuck, and I've got her age, her parents name and that stuff...it's figuring out all the other stuff I'm having problems with.

What do you think would be more useful? Someone that could work with elixirs and stuff of that sort, or someone that can draw and read maps and that sort of stuff using the stars and all that stuff. I'm really kinda struggling with it.

So, I think we're gonna scrap the mouse guard idea for now. It takes way too much time to build the characters, and the system makes it way complicated and better suited to face to face around a table play, than online play. Plus, it would require Henry to have to control way too many NPC's, and since that was one of the things that was bogging everything down and making him tired, we're trying to keep that from happening again.

Henry found this book that's like a science fiction type setting and it seems pretty interesting. You wake up on a space station with no memory of who you are or anything really for that matter....so, it's kind of like an investigative type game where you have to figure out how to solve problems without killing everything in sight. I forget what it's called though. I've been too busy seeing doctors and getting stuck with needles to have much time for reading, and the constant killer headaches hasn't made it easy when I do have the time to read.

Just wanted to put that out there. I was gonna try to make a character once Henry had a chance to read over it. THat way we can see how easy or complicated it will be to use it online. If I can understand it, it should be easy for everyone else. Lol
