Hello all, this is a game being run for the online PbP convention Outpost IV, #3-06: Song of the Sea Witch (Standard).
It is recruited via spreadsheet, so head over here FIRST, sign up on the line for this game (it was line 29 as of the time of this post) and then come on back to dot into gameplay.
One further note, the earliest you can sign up is January 26th if you are GM'ing something for the convention or January 29th if you are a general player.

That said, discussion stuff is posted in this thread. I have players fill their info into the slides for the game, so no need to add it here. You are welcome to make dayjob rolls here or in gameplay during your introductions. You can also wait till the end of the session to make them.
I tend to prefer in game questions to just use the OOC tags in the gameplay thread so everything is kept in the same place.
But you all are welcome to use this for non-game related discourse or general chat!
I'll start...
My favorite food is pretty much all foods, but I really dislike coconut.

Welcome all! It appears we have at least five signed up so this scenario is definitely a go. Hopefully we'll get full up with six be start date.

Okay, book-keeping time. Everyone please check out the slides here. Fill out your chronicle info on page one and then your character info on page two. Page two has things like marching order, a place for your character piece and initiatives.

Hey all!
I put myself first for marching order- my character is a heavy armor wearing Hellknight Armiger dagger specialist (Fighter 4), but if there are other melee frontliners we can figure it out.

Reporting! for sport and glory!
Day Job Take 10 Knowledge Nobility: 10 + 21 = 31

![]() |

Day Job Craft Tattoo: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25
Very squishy and happy to stand behind all the brave smart fellows!

Shennanigans with this character:
-Disruptive: The DC to cast spells defensively increases by +4 for all enemies that are within Zzorn’s threatened area.
-Breaker Rush: Improved Bull Rush or Improved Overrun at CMB +13 (either causes 12 pts. of bludgeoning dmg, targets of the overrun attempt may not chose to avoid Zzorn)
-Breaker Momentum: successful bull rush (12 pts. bludgeoning dmg) also triggers overrun combat maneuver check as a free action (for another 12 pts. bludgeoning dmg as Zzorn stomps the enemy's face into the ground)

GM TOP |

Oooh, that's a nice little combo of things there. Complicated a bit, but definitely some nice synergy going. Just gotta get the enemy in reach of your combat maneuver and it is game on! Thank you for the heads up about your character's oddities. I've never seen a build like that.
We have six signed up on the document. If they haven't checked in by the time we get close to the start date, I'll send out some PM's. Looks like wizard, psychic and four beaters. I don't even have the scenario yet, but I'd be a bit surprised if any of the combats were difficult for you all. But we shall see! I just honestly hope for a bit of good entertainment in the fights, maybe at least the 'feel' of danger in some of them. But sometimes, stuff goes sideways fast and things go bad quickly.

Finnius is just pretty straightforward heavy armor wearing dual wielder currently- lots of combat math involved for my attack spread depending on if I'm using or not using Power Attack and 2WF or not and thrown vs. melee (but always daggers).
Usually I will be 2WF + Power Attack except when I can't get close enough to 2WF, then just Power Attack.
(Like 2 more levels I finally get my first level in actual Hellknight instead of just Armiger).

MOAR Shennanigans!
Spell-like Abilities
Envoy Ring (CL 3rd)- 1/day each: charm person (DC 16), comprehend language, disguise self (24 hours duration; clothing automatically matches dominant culture and diminishes any personal feature that would stand out)
Subtle Mask (CL 3rd)- 1/day: comprehend language
--> Mask actually disappears or 'meld' into Zzorn's face (i.e. it doesn't look like he's wearing a mask), and instead produces subtle/faint golden patterns/tattoos on his face, and makes one of his eyes appear green while the other one still appears blue (his true eye color).

Wow, this is going to be a Heavy martial group. I don't think we are going to be sneaking up on anyone. Though I suppose the wizard could have a good scouting familiar.
Probably going to be disabling traps the hard way.
But at least there should be plenty of meat for the 2 casters to hide behind.
Nothing to wierd about Goe Lem, though he has purchased Slitherbane the intelligent heavy flail. He will be trying to trip with it when appropriate.

Sent out a PM to the last PC signed up on the sheet. We start in a week!
Looks like we have 4/6 with their info filled out on the slides, good work.

I believe the officially allowed start is in about 10 hours, but it is unlikely that I am able to post right on time. I'll definitely try to get us going by this time tomorrow so keep an eye out!

Day job, Jeweller, Msw Tools, Artisant trait: 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 24
Eredur uses hand of the apprentice (universalist mage) with either a masterwork warhammer or his cold iron battleaxe
He has spell focus evocation and elemental focus fire, so uses mostly fire based spells
he has a few magical wands to use too (CLW, Burning hands CL 3, Magic Missile,Mage armor, Ray of enfeeblement) and decent UMD

FYI, I hate effects and conditions that take away player agency. Hopefully it’ll only be a couple rounds. :(

LOL! climbing to the top of the pillar would probably be something Zzorn would have done anyway! I like that he 'squeezes' next to his harpy bard... that's something he might do as well in regular times! :P
But seriously, is there a second save involved if the character has to man-grunt all the way up a pillar or some equally out of the way route to get to them? that's like, a falling hazard, etc. Not that Zzorn would have a big chance of making the save, but who knows...

Zzorn, I loved your 'family' picture. Quite good, lol.

LOL, I'm still hoping for season 2 at some point... :)

Hmmm... I just went and re-read through all the haunt stuff. I believe I did not follow things that well.
Give me a bit, I'll redo it all.

GM TOP |

Updated. Didn't take long, but it should at least give the group a chance of preventing the manifestation. If they fail, so be it. But the rules give a pretty clear 'chance' as being allowed to stop it even before it starts so I didn't want to skip that option.

I'm seeing enough reticence that we will definitely skip the 'optional encounter'. I'll get another post up in gameplay soon.
I think that MOST games skip them too, fyi. Honestly, unless you just have a group of combat AND skill beasts, most convention scenarios easily take 3.5-4 hours. I have only played in one group that I recall only took 2-3 hours. I expect those are the groups that the 'optional' encounters are targeted towards.
Or for the groups that find ways 'around' most of the combats it gives another shot for them to get some fighting in.
Chronicles will be out hopefully by tomorrow. I don't have the bandwidth to keep running for you all though, so I'd suggest requesting in recruitment for a gm. You can use this game's discussion thread to coordinate with a gm as long as it doesn't take super long to find someone. I'd suggest maybe finding a couple scenarios you all can run and want to run before searching for a gm though.

You're an awesome GM, GM CHOP! ..err... GM TOP! (dang leshy now seared into my brain...)
You aptly wear your name, Sir, and you can count me in any PF1E you'll be running at future online Cons! (that also goes for the players in this group here, if you're willing to have a bunch of games together in the future as we're a decently well balanced party made up of mostly sane players)
Cheers!
PDK/Zzorn

I'll shut this thread down today, thanks all for a well played quick fun game!
