While generally speaking I agree it's a bad idea to split up, I don't think we have a way to block 3 hatches. Maybe if we all go up, we leave the hatch open to shoot down at anyone coming up from the first floor.

This is my thinking on it. Fighting down is already going to be hard because we have no dedicated archers, and at least on the second floor we can bonk people coming up without getting ourselves stuck on the roof. There's only 4 guards on the top floor, and there's a likely chance that by the time the rest of us get up there, Grumblejack and Bladud and Eagle will have already finished up or are finishing up due to various movement speeds and only two ladders.
I feel like the second floor will be relatively safe from the guards below because we basically pulled a disappearing act. But sending our biggest guys up minimizes the time needed to split while still leaving enough manpower to keep guards from coming out of the ground.
Iunno how coherent this is, I'm up early on very little sleep.

Looking at the map again, ground level of the gate house is divided into 3 rooms so my plan won't work.
Let's have Aelwulf and Hjalmarr stay at the middle hatch with Ivy or Sophia to stand guard. The rest will clear 3c then we can do the same with 3b. It looks like both have arrow slits into 3a.

We could drop a flaming barrel of oil down one for a distraction.
Alternatively, if we've got the rope for it, we can head back up and rappel down into the bridge while they're distracted and get the hell out of dodge.

Yes and yes. The barrel of oil was heavier than the lockbox so I sent it with him. We do have the bad liquor we could throw down and light. Wont be as impressive.

Now that you have made it to the manor, just barely ahead of the Deathless group, I am considering joining the two groups. They also have 3 currently posting players.
The groups could continue as three each, you're certainly powerful enough but merging creates less work for me, and less trouble if a group were to drop to two.
Let me know what you guys think.

I'm fine with this. Gets us more firepower and you only have to run 2 games instead of 3. It's win win.

I'm fine with merging. I think we could use some muscle and I think it will be less work for you to have actual players instead of an NPC.

I'm fine with merging as well. Might let things flow a little easier and saves you having to GM PC half the party. Seems to work out for everyone.
