Infusing his words with the power of his faith to Irori, the detective calls out closer intruder. "You know that you are running out of time. Your defensive measures will soon expire. What will you do after that? Are you willing to die for this man? Adril has lost at every turn. Think about it. He has planned this for years, a decade perhaps. And in a matter of a few days, we have unraveled nearly all of his efforts. He has placed himself in a corner and has nowhere left to maneuver. His fate is sealed. Your's however, is still in doubt. Stay and perish in such a way that your death will be absolute, never to rise again. Or leave now and return to Golarian and stay there of your own accord and continue to live as a master of your own destiny. He surely cannot pay you enough to risk literally everything. And ask yourself this; would he be equally willing to make the same sacrifice for you? He has left you here to die. I offer you the opportunity to see tomorrow."

Preparing an alternative plan of offence, Kiboko casts Spider Climb on Flyn and then advances around the conjured stone wall, walking on the air.

If Flyn is able to move up to Kiboko's position then that will grant Kiboko another 15' of movement; I have positioned Kiboko assuming that he needs to move to Flyn, and using a total of 35' out of 40' speed. I've also assumed that Kiboko has to squeeze past the Wall of Stone where it bends.

Kramac guides Beak through the tight hallways, gliding over the spike growth in the next room, to where he can get a view of the druid that is vexing them so. He pulls a talisman off his belt, smashes it on the ground and calls out,

Using a boon from Siege of the Gallowspire to cast Dispel Magic on the druid.

Fendel:
You recognize the archer as the woman mentioned by Zarta in her message to you. A quick look reveals that her left eye is made of glass, but it is indeed warded with a contingency effect of some kind. You could suppress the effect with dispel magic, though that would only last for a short time (1d4 rounds). If you wanted to suppress it longer... Well, it came from an eye socket?

The wasps continue to buzz and swarm furiously, but they do not pursue the Seekers as they make their way into the hallway. As each one enters the passage, they see the short length suddenly stretch out before them. Even more strangely, those in the haze-filled alcoves on the side find that the can reach everyone in the hallway with ease.

The hallway stretches to 200 feet long, and creatures in the alcoves consider all creatures in the hallway as adjacent.

Finally, an archway opens into a wedge-shaped room. The outer wall, though, is bisected by a spherical chamber. Blackened, lightning-shaped streaks run across the walls and floor. In the middle of the spherical chamber floats an ebon gemstone with fifteen facets. Long chains forged from a strange blue alloy run from the center of each facet to the chamber walls.

Detect Magic and Spellcraft DC 37:
This stone appears to be a strange form of a mirror of life trapping - a magical prison that traps creatures within itself forever. Without a reflective surface, it would likely be triggered to trap a creature by touch rather than by sight. Without knowing the proper command words, releasing something trapped within it would be near impossible.

Witch's Winter Holiday

Skyreach is... room-temperature? XD I'd imagine it would take hours for the ice to melt naturally.

While Kramac works tirelessly to heal his many cuts and bruises, the other Seekers study their surroundings and formulate plans of action.

Technically the swarms stick around for 13 minutes, but it doesn't feel like forcing folks to deal with them will create a more-enjoyable play experience so I'm happy to ignore them without making us wait for them to leave on their own (or spend resources to make them realize they're not welcome anymore).

Flyn sees that the floor beneath him is inlaid with a giant circular mosaic of vivid colors - red, blue, green, and yellow - divided into quarters that swirl counter-clockwise. A brass plaque encircles the design, engraved with a passage that is perhaps easier to read from above: "The shortest year has five seasons of fire." In the northwest corner of the room, a short passage leads to a metal door.

Witch's Winter Holiday

Flyn pauses for a moment as the subtle glimmer of dormant magic catches his eye. It covers the walls of the triangular chamber, seeming to branch out from the two silver levers in the walls next to the doors. Kiboko doesn't detect any magical auras, however.

My understanding is that since the trap has a mechanical trigger rather than a magical one (such as an alarm spell), it doesn't create an aura until it is triggered. I'm not super worried about that ruling at this time thanks to Flyn's successful Perception check (so we know the trap is there), but please do leave a link to something that would state otherwise (or confirm, as the case may be).

Assuming that disables the trap, is there any way for us to determine what would’ve transpired had we triggered it?

Witch's Winter Holiday

Flyn carefully works to sever the latent connection between the lever and the faint lattice of energy coating the walls and ceiling. A brief wash of heat suggests that a mistake could have made the room quite... hot.

Flyn turns to his friends. ”It’s a puzzle. The engraving in the previous room read:

The shortest year has five seasons of fire.

“The heat released from disarming the trap connected to the levers was likely one of fire, designed to trigger when the levers are pulled. I’d assume the engraving meant the quickest way through is to pull a lever five times, which would’ve otherwise subjected us to the ‘five seasons of fire.’ The rainbow patterns in the other room were swirling in a counterclockwise motion, so I’d assume we all need to enter the chamber and pull the lever by the northern door 5 times…perhaps then it’ll teleport us to where we need to be?

“Any other ideas?”

Flyn shrugs. ”Only one way to find out…”

Once everyone enters, Flyn will pull the northern lever…

Witch's Winter Holiday

As Flyn pulls the lever, several things happen in rapid succession.

First, the door into the chamber slams shut with a loud clang. A quiet click suggests a bolt has engaged.

Second, a soft flash of light radiates from the lever and travels up the wall. It stops as it reaches the archer's handiwork, dissipating harmlessly.

Third, the chamber shudders and the Seekers might have had to try to keep their balance if they were not packed so tightly into the room as everything rotates to the right.

Last, the door next to the lever Flyn pulled opens smoothly to reveal another room - this one coated in blue tiles. Fendel immediately feels a subtle drop in temperature, and a quick look around the walls reveals a similar lattice of dormant magic as the previous room.

Flyn shrugs. ”It appears I am wrong about the teleportation…but the room shifted counterclockwise and the trap would’ve normally spewed fire. So perhaps we should pull the the lever four more times? I assume it’ll shift counterclockwise each time…perhaps after the fifth pull the door will open to the place we need to be?”

He ponders for a moment. ”Anyone object if I pull it again?”
