Shadow_Fox, I'm good with continuing on, if the others wish to. I think I might want to change Rileth's levelling class and possibly stick with bard (archaeologist) rather than multi-classing, if this is doable? At 3rd level, Rileth gains trap sense as the rogue class feature and she already has disable device. If I give her common thieves tools then she can handle traps and such on behalf of the party. (Rileth doesn't have enough coin for the m/w thieves tools. She can, however, sell her shortbow as she has Tsuto's +1 composite shortbow and she'll have enough to buy the tools.)

Hey all, GM contacted me. I would love to join your adventures. Looking at the thread, it seems what you mainly lack is a divine caster and healer. I present Esmerelda Skyleaf, halfling Life Oracle. With her life link, channeling, and spellcasting, she can definitely keep you all upright and healthy, especially the front-line of Red and Rileth. I also built her to aid another in combat with the trait Helpful, so I am sure you will all love the bonuses that she gives to attack or AC or saves. I spent all her gold on armor to buff up her AC so she can aid and heal on the front-line without too much trouble. Finally, maxed out her UMD so she can use color spray on some enemies as well with her wand. Her drawback of speaking only Celestial in combat may hinder for a little while. Also, she is not very perceptive, so will rely on the party for keeping her safe. Look forward to playing with you all.

Hi, Esmerelda. Welcome to the game. :) Having some more/dedicated healing is certainly a boon and will ease the pressure off our warpriest, Perri. Also, at least for now, Perri will be able to understand your Celestial in combat (and he may be able to translate when/where necessary), so it isn't too bad. I'm sure Rileth will help to keep Esmerelda safe. Next level, I can have Ri take a rank in Linguistics and pick up Celestial. Looking forward to playing alongside you, as well.

Where do you stand on the matter of Archaeologist's Luck rounds increasing per the rule of Bardic Performance having 2 additional rounds/day each level after first?

I know some GMs house rule this matter. Technically, Archaeologist’s Luck is treated as bardic performance for the purposes of feats, abilities, effects, and the like that affect bardic performance, however they do not gain the bardic performance ability or any of its performance types. Currently I have left it at 5 rounds/day (4+1 CHA modifier) without increasing it (and with the luck bonus on attacks increasing to +2 at 5th level, +3 at 11th level, and +4 at 17th level).

Just want to make sure I have the right number of rounds for your game without assuming I can just increase the rounds per level like some people do in my other games.

Okay, not really.

Yes, we were pretty bad off until Perri got to 2nd level. Didn't do so badly afterwards, but more is usually better.


To give you a recap of where we left off:

You arrived in Sandpoint for the consecration of the new temple, when you had to fend off a goblin attack on the town. You discovered that goblins somehow sneaked into town and during the incursion, had managed to steal the bones of Father Tobyn, former priest in town, who died during a fire 5 years ago during the Unpleasantness. You also saved the life of a noblewoman Lady Foxglove, with whom you later went hunting. Afterwards, your help was sought when Lady Ameiko Kaijitsu, proprietor of the Rusty Dragon, went missing. You followed the trail to the Glassworks Factory, where you found Ameiko's father and other workers had been killed by goblins led by Ameiko's half-brother Tsuto. Through Tsuto's diary, you learned that he had sneaked the goblins into town through some cavern passageways after forming an alliance with someone named Nualia, who appears to be leading the goblins and planning an invasion of the town. After defeating Tsuto and saving Ameiko, you ventured further down into the caverns of wrath, where you defeated some dangers including wrathspawn, a mutated hobgoblin, and an evil quasit witch. With the dangers defeated, you returned to Sandpoint to heal and recoup. And that is where we left off.

Thanks Ri, I missed it. I always play that you have a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + your Charisma modifier. That's it. However, if you take the feat Lingering Performance then you will get 2 additional rounds every time you spend one.

Ri has claimed Tsuto's +1 Composite Shortbow and quiver with 20 arrows. She also has the Scroll of Flaming Sphere.

The masterwork thieves' tools were claimed by Shel, but since her player is no longer continuing in game, Ri would like to claim those now that she will be disabling devices in Shel's absence. I hope that's okay.

I put together a simple loot list for people to use to make it easier to track our treasure and distribution.

I think everyone can add/edit it (please let me know if you have trouble with this). If someone wishes to claim something, you can add your name to the item. I also put a drop down box in if we have used/expended the item (such as potions for eg) or we sell it and divide the coin.

Don't worry about it. Replacing arrows is cheap. It only becomes an issue if we're in the field long enough to risk running out.

I was thinking that perhaps we should give Ameiko her late brother's bow? It just seems more respectful, even with their strained relationship.

So, Ri won't claim the bow and quiver. I have a question regarding the cold iron returning dagger - GM, is the weapon tiny size as the quasit was wielding it? If so, then it really wouldn't be suitable for any of us....Can you please clarify?

Dagger should be tiny.

Better to have potions in the hands of people with no healing.

Priority for the ring should go to somebody who is going to rush into melee.

Bow: Interesting thought. If there is nothing distinctive about it, then the odds of emotional attachment/meaning are reduced.

Then we sell the dagger with the other items we wish to sell.

Red, do you wish to claim the two CLW potions? The rest of us can cast healing spells.

Ring is already going to Red, so no issue there.

I'll leave the bow for the GM to describe etc and we can make a decision from there.

Rileth will take both scrolls (she already claimed the Flaming Sphere scroll in game before our break). She can also take the wand, unless the group wants to sell it.

From the sale of the unclaimed loot items, we each received 1740 gp. From the coins, we each get 12 gp & 2 pp.

So each party member gets: 2 pp and 1752 gp (1740+12).

That leaves 2 gp & 2 pp in the "group" kitty - this can cover group items or other incidentals the party may need.

Thanks, Ri. Yes the MW Darkwood Bow (Str +2) is available at Savah's Armory, owned and run by Savah Bevaniky, and can be found on Tower Street in Sandpoint. It sells many types of armor and weapons.

For magical trinkets, you have The Feathered Serpent. And if beyond the 5000 gp value of town, Vorvashali Voon can order your item from Magnimar.

I could simply wait. Or I can spend 400 for MW Banded (+7 AC) and get halfway to the AC benefit of the Full Plate now, I'll just fall back 200 value as I continue upgrading. Or 250 for the non-MW version and only lose 125 value as I upgrade.

All of your purchases are available, Ri. As for your healing, one of Ameiko's representatives is outside awaiting your party when you leave the Glassworks. She approaches you and advises you that all of your healing expenses will be taken care of, so the party is fully healed and lesser restored at no expense to any of you, courtesy of Ameiko, as thanks for saving her life. So no gold spent on healing - you all have full hps with no status effects.

Perri, Red will lend you 200 gp and if Rileth lends you 250 gp, you can buy the MW Full Plate now. AC is important. Selling my hide armor gets me 9 gp and after the loan, I have 13 gp left, which is enough to survive for a few days until the next treasure find.

Well, considering we were watching the basement-dwelling Rangers, we were pleasantly surprised to see them take 2 of the 3 in the series.

She quite obviously had a lot of fun. I enjoyed helping her have that fun more than anything else.
