I think according to Protection from Evil, even if they fail their will save, we should at least prevent the creature from controlling them for the duration of the spell.

Yes, I was reading that too. The spell says any "new attempts to possess". She is still possessed because she failed the save so this is still the ongoing possession. I believe that language applies when you make the save but have the presence still inside of you, so it can't just simply try to re-possess you. I am open to debate, if you think I am reading it wrong.

Oh ok I understand your perspective, you're saying that the rest of the benefits are contingent upon a successful save. Yes upon a closer re-reading of the spell I agree with your interpretation, thanks for clarifying!
I couldn't log in again after the site shutdown until I cleared my browser's cache of all items and all cookies, but that solved the problem.

Sorry for the delay! It took me until today to get logged back in (I tried clearing my cookies/cache earlier but I think it only cleared recent stuff and I had to go in and clear everything to get it to work).

Just to be clear, who is the magic missile directed at? Zed detected them, then the Sister purged their invisibility, then the Dame prevented them from using it again.

Can I roll a knowledge check to possibly identify what is coming before I make my fort save? It's a big roll so if I identify the banshee I will likely try something to protect myself if possible. Wanted to post here first before I attempted any rolls.

You were aware of its nature before it screamed, Zed. I tried looking through your prepared spells to see if you had Death Ward or Silence memorized or anything to increase your Fort save, but I did not see any. However, you know your character better than I do. You have a standard action or move action before she won initiative the next round and screamed.

A question just occurred to me... when one of us is flying and engaged in melee with someone on the ground, do we get the +1 higher ground bonus on attack rolls?

Apologies again for going back on this, trying to get up to speed on high level builds. I believe the AoE blast from round 1 of combat would also have done no damage since it was a fort save, and I'm not sure what else would have targeted me, so I think miraculously Zed is at 0 damage. Although between round 1 and round 2 you listed about 12 damage and I'm not sure where that came from, so I might have missed something.

I'll try to do better in the future about remembering my stalwart ability. Evasion for fort and will is something I don't see in my games very often.

I know the minor turbulence we are experiencing with the high-level-characters-built-from-scratch can be a bit frustrating, but overall I think we're doing very well. I've certainly seen such experiments go much, much worse before!

There have been some rounds where I do not roll higher than an 8 so it varies.
