I have a cavalier L1 (Halfling, Order of the Paw)too, but already played the confirmation with her
Of course I can spank up... err, whip up, another character if the party need some skills

Eschie, FYI your ninja dot in Gameplay didn't seem to go through.

EDIT: The wizard I had in mind has already been through the Confirmation! That's what I get for all my excessive level 1/before playing at 2 rebuilding, glad I double checked! I do have an oracle that can join at level 1 though, and this would bump them to level 2! :D GM, would you mind marking my wizard as inactive for this game please?

GM (and possibly players too), it is important to know about his Demonic Curse, specifically the line that says, "Good and lawful creatures instinctively distrust you, and you take a –4 penalty on all Diplomacy checks against such creatures."

This is Gnoda (yes, Gnome Yoda) - a force practitioner mesmerist. He covers knowledges and assorted trickery, along with a smattering of hokey religion ancient wisdom. (He's actually an Iroran scholar).

There may be occasional Yoda-isms but I don't stick to Yoda speech patterns exclusively ;)

^Welcome! Between you four + DH that'll make 5 players, which I'm more than happy to roll with. As a slight update we've got DH's character mostly done (just need to buy equipment I believe) and then I'll need to walk him through registering here on Paizo and getting his character alias set up.

It's been a while since I've done a Confirmation run so I'm actually looking forward to it - yay!

I think this'll also be the first time I've GMed a game for Yours is mined - yay!

Lol it's gonna be a wild ride :) Pelagos is basically a s**@ty crossbowman at this level with a smattering of utility and a disappearing trick (just to manage combat expectations). The fire comes next level! :D

Hmm … interesting archetype. Bonus Dodge feat at first level for not giving up a whole lot, plus the parry stuff at third. Not to mention spears are GOOD weapons.

I’ve been considering a 1 level dip in fighter for Abdara … though I also like the look of cleric (crusader) archetype, mainly for saves, weak channel, and the Luck Domain … Decisions, decisions.

Okay, so much for a potential weekend start...but to be fair, there's another reason for my lateness in posting, which is....kitten! I picked her up Saturday morning. Her name is Bonnie and she's a very sweet little lady :)

All that said, I'm going to try and get the rest of the set-up stuff wrangled on my/our end of things this week so that we can hopefully get started soon. Work, holidays, etc. always seem to throw spanners in the works...

Hey there, everyone. Finally got all of my stuff figured out and uploaded, thanks to the Lady!

Just wanted to drop a hello and say that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in a play-by-post setting outside of the actual game mechanics and roleplay, so if I do something wrong (posting/action etiquette, etc.) let me know and I'll be happy to correct it in the future!

I'm looking forward to the scenario and getting to know a little bit more about this whole PbP thing and Organized Play in general.

I was fortunate to have a supportive group of players/GM for my first PbP/PFS game on these boards – and I had the added handicap of having no clue about a limited grasp of the PF1 rules at the time – so yeah, don’t sweat the small stuff, we’ve all been there.

It was a fun game, thanks for running. Poor aspis didn't have much chance against a hail of bullets (albeit that BBEG could've taken down one or two of us if we'd failed saves). Revered Master Poh is enjoying a pint or three of luglurch now :)

If so, I am appalled a Frenchman has heard the name Fourecks in relation to Australian beer. The real XXXX is … pas bon, to put it mildly. And I am originally from the state it is brewed in.

In contrast, I LOVE French beer (not to mention French food, wine, people, culture). I’ve only visited Paris once (and travelled from Nice to Carcassonne in the south), and am keen to return once the current problems are behind us.

Got the whole Discworld series, in English (tried to read one in French, but Pratchett humor and wit is too hard to translate), and The Last Continent is one of my favorite.

Hokay folks, we're officially getting this train rolling! Links to the maps and handouts now exist at the top of the campaign page as well as in my GM header under 'Confirmation'.

For those who are familiar with my routine, please check out the slides and input the relevant character information on Slide #2. I'd also like everyone to indicate where they'd prefer to be in the marching order on Slide #3.

We'll have a slow and relaxed start, with some time for everyone to RP a bit before the mission briefing :)

Question: Looking at Pelagos' Demonic Curse (full text spoilered below), does the spellcasting limitation on good/lawful descriptors apply to all spellcasting sources, or just his Oracle spells? Originally, I thought it'd only be Oracle spells, but just now I realized it is commonly accepted that Sorcerer bloodlines change the way spells are cast across all sources (which has never made sense to me, but I'm a fart in a hurricane on that one).

Let me know if she becomes too much.

Every one has his quirks, that's why we're full characters ( or at least try to be) and not Just-Joe generic fighter.

We're here to improve, learn and maybe change.

BTW, what were/are your favorite characters, roleplaying wise, on these forums? And did you meet characters from other players that left some memories? (you too can add your two coppers, Lady L!)

Page 2 (of gameplay) hype!

I'm enjoying the amount of roleplay that's going on in this game. Our old home group was very fun, but a bit light on the RP. It's nice to get to flesh out a character a bit more in a Pathfinder scenario.

The character development/RP is what keeps me playing via PbP. Progress is obviously a lot slower (days vs hours), but you can really get into a character and respond to a lot of what is often considered "window dressing" for a scenario. Player/player banter also doesn't take away time/attention from the rest of the table too :)

Especially when the GM and your fellow players are all Rockstars ;)

Like Gummy Bear / Pelagos I enjoy the character development that PbP enables. I try to have all my PFS characters take part in PbP as well as other formats, I think it complements the face to face experience.

I'm in a couple of long running PbP campaigns where I may well end up only playing my PC in the PbP format, and that's fine too; those PCs have (or will soon have) much more rounded and nuanced personalities and motivations as a consequence.

Also, yeah, Lady Ladile knows how to throw a table together ;)

Oh yeah, not having a strict time limit means more time for roleplay banter (my favorite part of TTRPGs)

The slow pace got to me when I first started PbP. But if everyone is committed to the game, there is plenty of time for roleplay AND combat. PLUS, I now know what to expect in terms of game-length going in.

I feel like I’ve really earned that Chronicle sheet at the end of a successful 4-8 week game.

I track PbP game length in a spreadsheet of the games I GM.

Not including the game some years ago when the Paizo site went down for about a month, shortest run is 32 days, longest 68 days, with a mean of 48 days.

Can't believe my first PFS game was 6 years ago.

It was a short mission, at least for me, as I, with my first character ever, was killed. By a wight. On a level 1-2 mission (the Accursed Halls).

Especially when the GM and your fellow players are all Rockstars ;)

Also, yeah, Lady Ladile knows how to throw a table together ;)

I invite people whose GMing/playing I enjoy. Like, it certainly helps if someone is creative and can write decently but general enthusiasm and a good attitude matters a lot to me as well. There are certainly people on the forums who I think are very creative roleplayers and great writers but would not invite to a table because I don't care for their attitude or otherwise feel we would have a personality clash.

Doesn't mean they're bad people, just means they're not who I'd prefer to spend 8+ weeks of my time and energy on and with. I'm sure there are folks out there who feel similarly about me, as well. As long as people are mature about it, it doesn't have to be a big thing.

But the first pool of people is much bigger than the second! I could probably fill at least 4 tables of 6 with all the people I really enjoy playing with, maybe more :)

Still not quite brave enough for that!

I do have two very general 'GM' goals for 2021, though. The first is to start GMing some PFS2 and the second is to run another module. I ran From Shore to Sea for some folks last year and enjoyed the change of pace from shorter, more episodic content to a more drawn-out story.
