I'll just drop this in here cuz it's easier!
Much like me missing Solomon's mace, Felix hasn't given anyone his full name; as far as they know, he's just 'Felix' so they wouldn't know his nomen or cognomen (Lucius and Quirinus, respectively).
I know it's kinda nitpicky, but he tends to just give his praenomen (Felix) and leave it at that when he's dealing with new folks.

Haha, I can't say the same! Mid-sized high schools in the American South don't offer Latin as a course, sadly... what little knowledge I have of the subject comes mostly from osmosis and light research. Maybe if I ever go back to university I could see if they offer it so I can broaden my linguistic horizons a bit!

suss out …
What does suss mean in Australia?
Size up or study something
'Suss' meaningSize up or study something {ahead of time}; Or if someone seems a bit suspicious, you can call them suss.
Bless my ♡.
I thought ‘suss’ was English slang, further mangled by Aussies/Kiwis.
Is it in common use in the South too?

Pelagos, I am no expert, but I thought because burning hands is on the Flame Oracle’s spell list, you can cast it from a wand at any level.
FLAME
Source Advanced Player's Guide pg. 47
Deities: Asmodeus, Sarenrae.
Class Skills: An oracle with the flame mystery adds Acrobatics, Climb, Intimidate, and Perform to her list of class skills.
Bonus Spells: burning hands (2nd), resist energy (4th), fireball (6th), …
Activation: Wands use the spell trigger activation method …
Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin. The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

I hope you all had an excellent Christmas!
I cooked a full Christmas dinner for the first time ever - happy to report it was a success :)
Wow, congrats and good job! We had a wonderful Christmas, even with all of the general weirdness of life these days - can't complain one bit.
Bless my ♡.I thought ‘suss’ was English slang, further mangled by Aussies/Kiwis.
Is it in common use in the South too?
Hmm...not necessarily common but not entirely unheard of either, at least in the context of 'figure something out'. Now saying that something seems suss/sus (suspect or suspicious) I see a fair bit online and I use it sometimes in conversation.
Re: Spell Trigger - Yep, Abdara has the right of it. Pelagos can use the wand even if he can't actually cast Burning Hands yet.

WOOOOOOO! :D I totally thought that it wasn't on the list until level two :D Thank you, thank you, thank you! :D I was feeling really lame as a Flame Oracle with no access to fire until he took his wizard levels XD

GM Ladile |

Howdy folks! If you haven't already seen it, GM submissions for Outpost IV are now open. So if you were wanting to run a game or two, sign up, check the list of available scenarios and make your selections!
I'm running #2-25 You Only Die Twice (Tier 5-9) so maybe I'll see some of you at my table :)

![]() |

There's lots of scenarios on that list I'm interested in playing, but I know I won't have capacity for more than one or two. Sleeping Sword is definitely going to get a run out, with all those undead about!
I will be GMing The Jarlsblood Witch Saga, also a tier 5-9.

GM Ladile |

^Same. I've already agreed to play in a game that'll likely start up at some point during the Outpost timeframe (but won't actually be a convention game) so I'll definitely have to be very circumspect about what else I might sign up to play.
Definitely only going to be GMing one convention table, though. My Treason's Chains game is almost done and I've made the decision to disband my long-running League table once they finish their current scenario. The general idea is that once those two games (and this one) are wrapped up I'll only have the TL;DR table as a long-term GM commitment + the occasional con table or module or single-shot scenario. Or nothing else at all. I'm not tired of PbP completely or burned out but I'm definitely feeling the desire to shift some of my PbP time towards other hobbies/interests right now.

![]() |

That's completely understandable given how many games you've been running and playing in for as long as you have.
I don't know how you've done it! ;)
I'm going to run something 1e for Outpost, but haven't settled on which one. I am pleasantly surprised at the variety our VO Corps has offered.
Unfortunately I've played Jarlsblood Witch (it was on VTT and I got the impression the GM was running it cold) and Die Twice -- a fun one that I think would run better on PbP than VTT, and I enjoyed the VTT version!

Hello Friends, new and old!
I'm planning to run #7-07 Trouble in Tamran specifically for the most esteemed Lady and her Hubster to be able to play together. Since I've played and/or GM'd with some or all of you before, she and I agreed to offer first dibs to the players at this table.
It's a 1-5 scenario. It has strong tie ins to the former Szarni faction, though less so to the Exchange (Guaril Karela accompanies you and attends the brief - not a spoiler).
It also has this from the product page:
Content in "Trouble in Tamran" also ties into a special metaplot element from Pathfinder Society Special #6–98: Serpents Rise. Players who have completed that special event are encouraged to bring its Chronicle sheet when playing this adventure.
(As explanation, this boon is tied to the player having played or run 6-98, not whether this particular character has participated.)
I'll wait to start until this Confirmation scenario is finished so that you can bring these same characters if you wish and to make it easier on The Lady and her Hubster.
I'll monitor this discussion for your answers and any questions you might have.
Looking forward to seeing you!

In Core or Standard mode, Nomadical?
Sorry, I left that out. I normally only do Standard, but I guess if there's demand for a Core table I could do that, too. Only as a second table, tho. I plan to apply this particular GM chronicle to Chhat, a Standard character who's already 5th.

Yours is mined |

Hey Nomadical!
I am in for standard! Abdara will be level 3 at the end of her Confirmation, so can play up or down.
How are you doing, bud? I’m guessing business has never been better, as long as you have your shots up to date ;)
I didn’t leave the state last year, and suspect that might be the case this year as well :(

![]() |

Upon further reflection regarding my bandwidth, I'm going to amend - not rescind - my offer to run a Core table. I'll gladly run a Core table, but it will have to be after the Standard table completes.
Hey, YiM! I'm still traveling full time and living up to my moniker. Delhi a couple days ago, Korea today, Alaska tomorrow, then Miami for a few days. Was in Sydney for NYE in quarantine hotel lockdown - ate Tim Tams while watching a T20 match!

![]() |

Trouble in Tamran is one of the most fun games I have played in PFS :)
It was an evening slot at a Convention in the UK that is held at a sort of holiday park where everyone stays in "lodges" - sort of like static trailers. This game was in one of the lodges, and we over-ran because we were just having a blast with the rp. I recall "Bartholomew the Great" (a "famous" bard PC) played a notable part :D
I will be quite tempted to use a replay :)

GM Ladile |

For those participating in my TL;DR table I'll also mention that Trouble in Tamran is not on our list of planned scenarios so don't worry about any overlap there :)
I'll prooooobably be playing my level 2 grippli gunslinger but I've also got plenty of other 1st/2nd level boon race characters that would be fun to play, depending on what the group composition looks like. Really need to get my catfolk oracle into some more games too...
*edit* By the way, if anyone is having/still having trouble getting logged in to Paizo you need to delete your cookies for the site and try logging in again!

I haven't been to Miami yet, but will get there one day. I imagine it like the Gold Coast on steroids, THEN turned up to 11.
(With the added bonus of a strong Cuban + Puerto Rican influence - sounds grand!)

Oh, man. I thought you'd say "Partied all night on a Thai beach. Sux to be you YiM!" ;)
Lady L has been exposed to the IPL of cricket on Jalmeray.
If you want to know more, sign up for my next run of Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible. ;)

Wait, whaaaat? There was IPL on Jalmeray? How did I miss that when I played it?
Lady Vanessa marched straight up to the fort and when they wouldn't let her in to see the boss, she announced, "I did not tramp srough zhis svamp in zhese heels to be told to vait! Fetch him NOW!"
But tell me when and where and I'll burn a replay just to see that! (bandwidth permitting)

Had to look up what the heck IPL meant...but yes, yes I did. Having GMed it myself before getting to play it, I greatly enjoyed your spin on that scenario YiM :)
(Have to be honest though, whether it's American or something else, all of that stuff is largely just sportball to me. That said, I'd rather watch a soccer match any day over American football :P)
________________
In totally different news, per Felix's request I added a spoiler to the top of the campaign page with the benefits you get for performing the rituals associated with the carvings you guys found!

![]() |

I'm a swimming/gymnastics/track&field sort of person. They're the only real sports, everything else is just a game ;)

GM Ladile |

I've never been a sport fan (or a sport practitionner for that matter)
I did enjoy american pro wrestling for some years (WWe/F, AEw, WcW, EcW..)but my interest is fading away
Huh. Too bad Parison (my big bro, for those not in the know) decided to step away from PbP because you and he have/did have this in common.

![]() |

Felix, don't forget Bless is a +1 vs fear saves as well! :D Now do me a solid and roll exactly a 10 so I feel validated for casting the spell ;)

![]() |

Don't ever worry about getting in front of Gnoda's crossbow - he's not exactly a martial type :D
At the moment all the gribblies are out of range of Gnoda's hoodoo.

By the way folks, it's quite likely we'll be able to finish up this scenario before Outpost starts on February 16th. I think most of us are going to go play in Nomadical's non-Outpost game once we finish here but I know several of us are also GMing for Outpost so...if you were concerned about bandwidth, hopefully that helps :)

GM Ladile |

Sounds like the consensus is to continue on past the river and find that other way out of the tunnels! This is my weekend to work so while I'll try and get us moved forward a bit later tonight it might not be until tomorrow or even Tuesday, depending on how busy my shifts are tonight and tomorrow night.

GM, unless the Minotaur goes down this round, Pelagos is going to be taking shots from the mist. Since he can see through it just fine, would that be a penalty to the Minotaur or a bonus to Pelagos on their AC/Attack Modifier respectively?

GM Ladile |

By my understanding you would simply attack with your normal attack modifiers and ignore the usual concealment penalties altogether since - thanks to your Gaze of Flames revelation - you get to treat the mist like it's not even there.
Hopefully that makes sense? Other GMs correct me if I'm missing or misunderstanding something :)

![]() |

That part I figured, but looking back at my post I was not clearly about my own question!
Since the Minotaur can't see it's attacker, are there any bonuses/penalties when it is attacked?

GM Ladile |

There might be an argument to be made for it losing its Dex-to-AC but I've not found any conclusive rulings one way or the other with what little forum-searching I've done.

GM Ladile |

Alrighty folks, for all intensive porpoises we can call the scenario done here (besides some additional wrap-up roleplaying, of course!) but if you want to go back and investigate the one cave branch you didn't check out earlier - the one with the death smell - we should have enough time to fit that in.
Up to you guys :)

![]() |

Looks like I ought to rebuild Gnoda as a Bolt Ace ;)
I'm not going to, I wanted to experiment with a psychic class, but he's been surprisingly accurate with his crossbow :)
Gnoda doesn't advocate going back into the caves. His little old legs are tired too.

Yeah, Abdara would much prefer more time in the sun, before having to think about training up to level 3 and then being posted to Tamran :)
Just a reminder, M'Lady. Abdara is on slow track for The Confirmation and is taking 10 on her day job for a 22 = 20gp.

GM Ladile |

^Noted!
And we're basically done; I'll get the game reported in a few minutes and get to working on chronicles :)
*edit* If you have a Day Job and haven't rolled it yet, please do so now.

Player name: supervillan
Character name: Gnoda
PFS number: 75577-15
Faction: Concordance
Day job: forgo in order to add Diverse Training boon
Normal progression.
ETA: totally forgot that I'd already added all this to the slides :)

GM Ladile |

Okay! Game has been reported and everyone should be able to find their chronicles --> here.
As always, let me know if there are any mistakes!

![]() |

Looks good to me, thank you GM! :)
Our checks for playing with Felix are in the mail, right? :P
It was a pleasure y'all, as was expected! :D

![]() |

Got mine too and everything is fine.
Thank-you for running, Lady Ladile!
Looking forward to when we all meet again -- even if it's just a drive-by hello, GB! :)

![]() |

Congratulations on surviving completing your mission, everyone! Yes, I'm still lurking here in the shadows.
As I see it, The Great Lady and her DH the Hunky Hubster, plus the inimitable Yours is Mined will be joining me to stir up some Trouble in Tamran. Supervillian said they might burn a replay to join us. Is that all correct?
I also promised Solomon that I will run a Core version once I finish the standard run. I haven't forgotten.
Lady is wrapping up a table that I'm playing at in her League of Kick Ass Dudes, and once she does I'll finalize recruiting. I could just as easily wait to start until after Gameday if people need the bandwidth, though.
