Much like me missing Solomon's mace, Felix hasn't given anyone his full name; as far as they know, he's just 'Felix' so they wouldn't know his nomen or cognomen (Lucius and Quirinus, respectively).

I know it's kinda nitpicky, but he tends to just give his praenomen (Felix) and leave it at that when he's dealing with new folks.

Pelagos, I am no expert, but I thought because burning hands is on the Flame Oracle’s spell list, you can cast it from a wand at any level.

Class Skills: An oracle with the flame mystery adds Acrobatics, Climb, Intimidate, and Perform to her list of class skills.

Bonus Spells: burning hands (2nd), resist energy (4th), fireball (6th), …

EDIT: Have just been down the rabbit hole of why this is:

Activation: Wands use the spell trigger activation method
PRD wrote:
Spell Trigger: Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin. The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Hmm...not necessarily common but not entirely unheard of either, at least in the context of 'figure something out'. Now saying that something seems suss/sus (suspect or suspicious) I see a fair bit online and I use it sometimes in conversation.

Re: Spell Trigger - Yep, Abdara has the right of it. Pelagos can use the wand even if he can't actually cast Burning Hands yet.

Season of Ghosts

Howdy folks! If you haven't already seen it, GM submissions for Outpost IV are now open. So if you were wanting to run a game or two, sign up, check the list of available scenarios and make your selections!

I'm running #2-25 You Only Die Twice (Tier 5-9) so maybe I'll see some of you at my table :)

The Concordance

M Gnome Mesmerist 2| hp 17/17 | AC 16 T 12 FF 15 | F:+2 R:+4 W:+6 | CMD 11 | Init +1 | Perc +6, lowlight | Spells (-. 3/3) | Tricks 5/5

There's lots of scenarios on that list I'm interested in playing, but I know I won't have capacity for more than one or two. Sleeping Sword is definitely going to get a run out, with all those undead about!

I will be GMing The Jarlsblood Witch Saga, also a tier 5-9.

Season of Ghosts

^Same. I've already agreed to play in a game that'll likely start up at some point during the Outpost timeframe (but won't actually be a convention game) so I'll definitely have to be very circumspect about what else I might sign up to play.

Definitely only going to be GMing one convention table, though. My Treason's Chains game is almost done and I've made the decision to disband my long-running League table once they finish their current scenario. The general idea is that once those two games (and this one) are wrapped up I'll only have the TL;DR table as a long-term GM commitment + the occasional con table or module or single-shot scenario. Or nothing else at all. I'm not tired of PbP completely or burned out but I'm definitely feeling the desire to shift some of my PbP time towards other hobbies/interests right now.

That's completely understandable given how many games you've been running and playing in for as long as you have.

I don't know how you've done it! ;)

I'm going to run something 1e for Outpost, but haven't settled on which one. I am pleasantly surprised at the variety our VO Corps has offered.

Unfortunately I've played Jarlsblood Witch (it was on VTT and I got the impression the GM was running it cold) and Die Twice -- a fun one that I think would run better on PbP than VTT, and I enjoyed the VTT version!

Grand Lodge

Hello Friends, new and old!

I'm planning to run #7-07 Trouble in Tamran specifically for the most esteemed Lady and her Hubster to be able to play together. Since I've played and/or GM'd with some or all of you before, she and I agreed to offer first dibs to the players at this table.

It's a 1-5 scenario. It has strong tie ins to the former Szarni faction, though less so to the Exchange (Guaril Karela accompanies you and attends the brief - not a spoiler).

It also has this from the product page:

Paizo wrote:
Content in "Trouble in Tamran" also ties into a special metaplot element from Pathfinder Society Special #6–98: Serpents Rise. Players who have completed that special event are encouraged to bring its Chronicle sheet when playing this adventure.

(As explanation, this boon is tied to the player having played or run 6-98, not whether this particular character has participated.)

I'll wait to start until this Confirmation scenario is finished so that you can bring these same characters if you wish and to make it easier on The Lady and her Hubster.

I'll monitor this discussion for your answers and any questions you might have.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Solomon Hardby wrote:

Sorry, I left that out. I normally only do Standard, but I guess if there's demand for a Core table I could do that, too. Only as a second table, tho. I plan to apply this particular GM chronicle to Chhat, a Standard character who's already 5th.

Hey Nomadical!

I am in for standard! Abdara will be level 3 at the end of her Confirmation, so can play up or down.

How are you doing, bud? I’m guessing business has never been better, as long as you have your shots up to date ;)

I didn’t leave the state last year, and suspect that might be the case this year as well :(

Grand Lodge

Upon further reflection regarding my bandwidth, I'm going to amend - not rescind - my offer to run a Core table. I'll gladly run a Core table, but it will have to be after the Standard table completes.

Hey, YiM! I'm still traveling full time and living up to my moniker. Delhi a couple days ago, Korea today, Alaska tomorrow, then Miami for a few days. Was in Sydney for NYE in quarantine hotel lockdown - ate Tim Tams while watching a T20 match!

Trouble in Tamran is one of the most fun games I have played in PFS :)

It was an evening slot at a Convention in the UK that is held at a sort of holiday park where everyone stays in "lodges" - sort of like static trailers. This game was in one of the lodges, and we over-ran because we were just having a blast with the rp. I recall "Bartholomew the Great" (a "famous" bard PC) played a notable part :D

I will be quite tempted to use a replay :)

Season of Ghosts

For those participating in my TL;DR table I'll also mention that Trouble in Tamran is not on our list of planned scenarios so don't worry about any overlap there :)

I'll prooooobably be playing my level 2 grippli gunslinger but I've also got plenty of other 1st/2nd level boon race characters that would be fun to play, depending on what the group composition looks like. Really need to get my catfolk oracle into some more games too...

Wait, whaaaat? There was IPL on Jalmeray? How did I miss that when I played it?

Probably because... (spoiler):

Lady Vanessa marched straight up to the fort and when they wouldn't let her in to see the boss, she announced, "I did not tramp srough zhis svamp in zhese heels to be told to vait! Fetch him NOW!"

But tell me when and where and I'll burn a replay just to see that! (bandwidth permitting)

Had to look up what the heck IPL meant...but yes, yes I did. Having GMed it myself before getting to play it, I greatly enjoyed your spin on that scenario YiM :)

By the way folks, it's quite likely we'll be able to finish up this scenario before Outpost starts on February 16th. I think most of us are going to go play in Nomadical's non-Outpost game once we finish here but I know several of us are also GMing for Outpost so...if you were concerned about bandwidth, hopefully that helps :)

GM, unless the Minotaur goes down this round, Pelagos is going to be taking shots from the mist. Since he can see through it just fine, would that be a penalty to the Minotaur or a bonus to Pelagos on their AC/Attack Modifier respectively?

Season of Ghosts

By my understanding you would simply attack with your normal attack modifiers and ignore the usual concealment penalties altogether since - thanks to your Gaze of Flames revelation - you get to treat the mist like it's not even there.

Hopefully that makes sense? Other GMs correct me if I'm missing or misunderstanding something :)

Alrighty folks, for all intensive porpoises we can call the scenario done here (besides some additional wrap-up roleplaying, of course!) but if you want to go back and investigate the one cave branch you didn't check out earlier - the one with the death smell - we should have enough time to fit that in.
