The tiefling looks down at the gash in her side, and back up at the thug with fire in her eyes.
You will regret that... She takes a swift step to the side to square herself with the thug. While he believes he can bob and weave to dodge her blade, she keeps her eyes trained on his movement until a moment at which his feet just land in a predictable manner.
Her rapier flies through the short space between them in an instant, lodged in his ribs as if it required no motion and had always been there. Once it starts to ooze blood she pulls it back and slides it into its sheath in one fluid motion.
Holding her hands out in front of her, her fingers splay, spreading apart in the tell-tale form that the claws will make an appearance soon. Her eyes begin to take on an eerie yellow glow that precedes mystical focus.

@Nilah not when they take the withdraw action.
If, during the process of withdrawing, you move out of a threatened square (other than the one you started in), enemies get attacks of opportunity as normal.
You may not withdraw using a form of movement for which you don’t have a listed speed.
Note that despite the name of this action, you don’t actually have to leave combat entirely.

Darn, but thanks for reminding me this action exists :D
Not seeing any conscious foes outside, Nilah runs back around to the front of the building and through the double doors, finding herself alongside the professor in front of another thug.

Salmok is running after the leader, we should join him soon and provide support. I checked out front for thugs, found one and hurt him pretty badly. He withdrew sans pride and with a nasty attitude. I hope I run into him in a dark alley soon to finish the lesson...
She eyes the thug in front of them and brandishes her fingers with blood on them from claw usage, before re-focusing on the Professor's questions.
The children are... as fine as they can be. I needed them to look away while I savaged another thug upstairs. Ejtehah... I vaguely recall stepping past him upstairs before I engaged that thug and passed through the window, but being honest I was pretty focused, eyes forward. We should circle back soon and check before heading out to help Salmok.

After Molvil attempts to 'pin' the man, she notices his eyes are tracking her now. (No longer blinded - but because he's stunned, the pin only barely works... for now. I'm still going to use the original check as the DC to escape because it's actually the rug that's grappling him, not so much you (and that is the higher number that makes it harder for him to escape).)

The Professor's eyes widen in shock as Nilah rips the thug in a rug to ribbons. She demands in an incensed tone: "Well, don't kill him! We need him to talk!" Noting that he seems to be coming around, she tries to pin down the rug a bit more so he can't escape so easily.
Grapple/Pin the thug in the rug: 1d20 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (12) - 1 + 4 = 15
Does that count for aiding the rug to maintain the grapple/pin him?
| GM Khouri |
I'll just take the highest between you & the rug (your check +4 when rolling him up in round 12). Right now your most recent pin is setting the highest DC for him to escape (DC 20) because the +4 from him being stunned and +5 to maintain a grapple stack. Molvil notices she was sitting on the wrong end and repositions to pin down the edge of the rug on top of him.

@Nilah- Normally unnamed NPCs don't make death saving throws (they just die when they hit 0), but since we know Molvil wants to talk to one, I can adjust that rule to make special dispensation. "Well!" Professor Masaendri is grateful to Nilah for pulling her punches, so to speak, and makes a mental note to give some positive reinforcement once things have settled down. Now that the thug is going to stay unconscious, she dashes upstairs to see to Ejtehah. Cringing a little at the thought of what the children will think when they see her, she takes a deep breath on the landing to clear her head and tries to think of a way to avoid scaring the children. | GM Khouri |
The BossMan used the grappling hook and rope to exit through the window and Salmok has been chasing him for many many rounds. Magdelina, Molvil & Nilah have been cleaning up the leftover minions as they awaken from Color Spray spells. There is currently one minion that has been nonlethally knocked out, and one living minion outside - the rest are dead. Magdelina is the only one that did not take damage.
@Salmok your speed while carrying him will be reduced to 40 feet, so it will take about a minute and a half (15 rounds) to get back, but considering the combat is nearly wrapped up that shouldn't be something we need to track. The BossMan will likely either be dead or stabilized on his own by then.
