Arcane Reservoir (Su):

An arcanist has an innate pool of magical energy that she can draw upon to fuel her arcanist exploits and enhance her spells. The arcanist’s arcane reservoir can hold a maximum amount of magical energy equal to 3 + the arcanist’s level. Each day, when preparing spells, the arcanist’s arcane reservoir fills with raw magical energy, gaining a number of points equal to 3 + 1/2 her arcanist level. Any points she had from the previous day are lost. She can also regain these points through the consume spells class feature and some arcanist exploits. The arcane reservoir can never hold more points than the maximum amount noted above; points gained in excess of this total are lost.
Points from the arcanist reservoir are used to fuel many of the arcanist’s powers. In addition, the arcanist can expend 1 point from her arcane reservoir as a free action whenever she casts an arcanist spell. If she does, she can choose to increase the caster level by 1 or increase the spell’s DC by 1. She can expend no more than 1 point from her reservoir on a given spell in this way.

By bending and sometimes even breaking the rules of magic, the arcanist learns to exploit gaps and exceptions in the laws of magic. Some of these exploits allow her to break down various forms of magic, adding their essence to her arcane reservoir. At 1st level and every 2 levels thereafter, the arcanist learns a new arcane exploit selected from the following list. An arcanist exploit cannot be selected more than once. Once an arcanist exploit has been selected, it cannot be changed. Most arcanist exploits require the arcanist to expend points from her arcane reservoir to function. Unless otherwise noted, the saving throw DC for an arcanist exploit is equal to 10 + 1/2 the arcanist’s level + the arcanist’s Charisma modifier.

At 1st level, an arcanist can expend an available arcanist spell slot as a move action, making it unavailable for the rest of the day, just as if she had used it to cast a spell. She can use this ability a number of times per day equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1). Doing this adds a number of points to her arcane reservoir equal to the level of the spell slot consumed. She cannot consume cantrips (0 level spells) in this way. Points gained in excess of the reservoir’s maximum are lost.

In addition to gaining a permanent +1 bonus on Knowledge (history) checks regarding Taldor, you can borrow a weapon or suit of armor from the museum. After hearing the adventure briefing for a scenario, you can check one, two, or all three boxes that precede this boon to secure a weapon, shield, or set of armor with a +1, +2, or +3 bonus, respectively, for the duration of the scenario. You can reduce the enhancement bonus of a borrowed weapon with a +2 or +3 bonus by 1 in order to give that weapon the undead bane special ability. Any borrowed equipment bears inscriptions or imagery from the Shining Crusade, such as Aroden’s holy symbol or the heraldry or Taldor. This equipment is always made of common materials such as steel, leather, or wood.

Masterful Performance: (Murder’s Mark) As a reward for exonerating the Umbra Carnival, Amara Delisen taught you a few tricks of stage presence and misdirection. You gain one of the following benefits, chosen at the time you use this ability (a swift action): a +3 bonus on a Bluff check to feint in combat or create a diversion to hide, a +3 bonus on an Intimidate check to demoralize an opponent, a +3 bonus on any Sleight of Hand check, or a +1 bonus to the caster level and DC of any one enchantment or illusion spell you cast. When you use this ability, cross it off the Chronicle sheet.

Darklands Study (Dark Archive faction): (Overflow Archives) Zarta Dralneen has perused a cursed tome that you recovered known as The Darklands Precepts, and she has shared some of her findings with you. You gain a +2 bonus on Sense Motive checks against humanoids native to the Darklands, such as drow, derro, and duergar. In addition, you gain a +2 bonus on Knowledge checks to identify and learn about such creatures.

As a result, Zarta Dralneen has provided you a choice pick from among the treasures rescued from the flooded library. Botting Professor Masaendri:

See Offense spoiler for standard attack rolls, though she prefers to use spells unless doing so would be detrimental to her safety and/or the group’s goals. (Because she knows she’s useless in melee.)

If necessary at the start of combat, she’ll drop her pack so she’s not encumbered, and pick it up again once combat is over.

Professor Masaendri will try to do one of the following with her spells so that the younger members of her party can wallop the bad guys: control the battlefield, buff allies, debuff foes. She stays away from danger as much as possible, using Dimensional Slide to get out of danger when necessary.

If she hasn't prepared a spell in her spellbook that would be very useful, she'll use Quick Study to switch it out. If she's not immediately threatened, she'll even do it in the middle of a fight if necessary.

When intimidation would be useful, she will feel quite comfortable using her “strict, mean professor” vibe to demoralize the opposition. The yardstick, usually hooked onto her belt, is brandished menacingly. She’s not above rapping knuckles with it.

Personality:

Professor Molvil Masaendri is a stern, strict, elderly elf woman. Her many years of repeating herself to her students has taught her both patience (on the outside) and a contempt (sometimes hidden) for those who didn’t listen the first time. However, when it suits her, she uses her age as an excuse when someone objects to her blunt behavior, claiming that she is “too old to waste time being patient with fools.” All those years of coddling fools--now she shouldn’t have to anymore!

She is fascinated with knowledge for its own sake, especially on the topic of arcane magic. Any experience that educates her in some way is deemed worth its expense; therefore, she relishes her travels and opportunities with the Pathfinder Society.

Though she has spent her entire life without any interaction with non-elves, she is perfectly willing to give individuals from other races--even dwarves and half-orcs--a chance to prove themselves worthy companions.

Background:

Professor Molvil Masaendri has spent her entire life buried in books and scrolls in Iadara, the capital city of the Elven kingdom of Kyonin. She has been a professor at the academy of arcane magic there for so long, she feels she will die of boredom if she remains any longer. Perhaps if she hadn’t already read and studied every single worthwhile book and scroll she could find she wouldn’t want to leave so badly. But leave she must, to seek excitement and a purpose to her life.

True, she is quite old, and adventuring taxes her in ways she did not expect (in spite of all her research on the subject). However, doing so will strengthen her aging body and sharpen her keen, questing mind. The thrill of the adrenaline rush calls her onward!
