Hello! Thank you for your interest!

A little about me:
I've been playing Pathfinder 1e for years, and have both played and GMed this module before, but never GMed a PbP before, so it will be a bit of learning experience! I do have a little GM experience (mostly running noob games) but not a lot, which is why I like PbP because it gives me time to look up rules I'm unsure about.

A little about the game:
Basically, it's a murder mystery set in a circus in Varisia. It's for level 1 only, but is an evergreen so you can play it with more than 1 character. (See campaign description for more detail and trigger warnings.)
I will expect the standard posting of at least 1 post each day, if you know you will be unavailable for a short term please let me know so I can bot you. Everyone should also have a botting section on their profile please so I know what your standard operating procedure is.
I am NOT planning to start immediately, as my other gameday events are still coming to a close, so give me about a week or so to get set up.

A little about your application:
The scenario is written for 4 players only, and since I am relatively inexperienced I am sticking with that suggestion for now. Priority will be given to people who have not played this module before. Other than that it will pretty much be first come first serve (unless I get more than half of the party as the same class or something then I might use a bit of discretion in selection)

Please post the following info to be considered:
Player:
Character:
Class/Level:
PfS #:
Faction:
Slow Track or Normal:
Have you played or GMed this scenario before?:
Have you played play-by-post before?:

Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle (purchases, training, etc):

Count me in. I have a level 1 oread occultist (geomancer). May also build a fresh character for this.

Have not played this before. Will update my info in a bit.

Dark Archive

Player: Warah
Character: Professor Masaendri
Class/Level: Arcanist 1
PfS #: 289224-8
Faction: Dark Archive
Slow Track or Normal: Normal
Have you played or GMed this scenario before?: no
Have you played play-by-post before?: yes

Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle (purchases, training, etc): Not yet.

I typically post mid-morning Pacific Time (US) on weekdays and at varying times on weekends. The Professor is an older elf who is desperate to feel alive, which is why she left her cushy tenured position at the University. In her two missions so far, she's had her fair share of excitement, and may be on her way to becoming a bit of an adrenaline junky.

I've always wanted to play this but I have only L2 characters left. Would that be ok? I believe that if the Chronicle Sheet says L1-2, it is sanctioned for L2 as well, but I'll leave the GM to make the final call. If need, I can create a new character. But with 18 characters, would have to think a bit about what I would want to create. :)

Dark Archive

This is a character I'm been meaning to get off of the ground for forever now. I don't know if all of the spots were claimed in the lodge thread, but if not, here's my entry.

Player PaleDim
Character Nilah Sevrom
Class/Level Magus 1
PFS # 272301-3
Faction Dark Archive
Slow Track or Normal Normal
Have you played or GMed this scenario before? No
Have you played play-by-post before? Yes

I do not have a botting section filled out, I'll compose one in the next week, though I'm always dubious about what different styles of GMs will want out of them, so if you have a specific set of criteria for it that would be great.

I tend to post in the evenings, US/Pacific time.

Liberty's Edge

Player: PDK
Character: Magdelina
Class/Level: Witch 1
PfS #: 4456-24
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Slow Track or Normal: Normal
Have you played or GMed this scenario before?: Yes, played once three years ago, but I do not remember anything about it. I would very much enjoy revisiting this scenario and this time, TAKE DETAILED NOTES! :)
Have you played play-by-post before?: Yes.

I am available to post frequently and on a daily basis.

I'm sorry, you are correct, you can play it through at level 2 ONCE for society, so I would allow that as long as we only have 1 level 2, otherwise it would get too easy.

Hello!

It looks like you are full but should a space become available I would love to join.

Player: noral

Spent a bit of time thinking about it, and decided that I'm at a stage of my life (primarily my work) where I likely can't give my full attention to the game which wouldn't be fair to everyone. So going to withdraw my application.

Have fun!

Assuming MauveAvengr posts the remainder of his info, here is the party:

- MauveAvengr - Oread Occultist (Geomancer) 1
- Warah - "Professor Masaendri" Elf Arcanist 1
- PaleDim - "Nilah Sevrom" Tiefling Magus 1
- Noral - "Aatish e Khorshid" (unknown race) Bard 1

Since PDK has played it once I'm going to have them as backup in case one of the above drops:
Backup: - PDK - "Magdelina" Changeling Witch 1

Is everyone good to start next weekend? (Or Monday the 26th if weekends don't work for you?)

I am not very specific about my requirements, a short description of what skills or combat options are your regular go-to in those situations.

This character of mine has a very detailed botting section (at the very bottom) if you want to get fancy with it

This seems a good time to list when I would bot a player:
- It's combat, and 24 hours have passed;
- The group needs a skill check from you, and 24 hours have passed;
- You tell me that you will be gone for a few days, and ask me to bot you.

I prefer not to bot, and am flexible with these limits, but I want the game to keep moving. If I do bot you, it will likely be minimal. I won't use player non-renewable resources (except possibly in dire situations).

The regular exception to this is one post per weekend (48hr time limit?), instead of daily. (However, if the opposite happens and everyone has posted within 2 hours or something crazy, I will try to keep the game going at your pace.) :)

I recognize this is a game, and real-life comes first.

Dark Archive

That gives me a decent template to go off of. I'll put something together over this week. Also those criteria for *when* are pretty much what I use. Thanks!

Yes, good to start next week.

Next week is great. Thanks!

I’ll include botting instructions!

I went ahead and wrote up mine. Let me know if anything there misses the mark.

Outside of combat looks good, but for the combat portion... that is an overwhelming amount of options - I would please request you simplify a bit. Starting with your ranged cantrips you already have 3 options listed just for that - when botting I won't have time to make those decisions for your character, try to please limit it to: opening round actions, 1 ranged option, 1 melee option, and maybe a strong option for use against boss-types?

From your description, it seems your basic attack is your top entry of acid splash until you can position into melee flank with your rapier, would that be accurate?

At what point would you want to go into mystical focus? Every combat? Bosses only? Pick one option for mystical focus botting - claws or spell combat.

Also, you only need to write out your concentration when casting defensively once since it (possibly) applies to everything.

Hopefully botting won't even be an issue, I just like to be prepared in case of eventuality.

This is where botting instructions get touchy. The intention would be to save it for "bosses" or when she's cornered and in trouble (e.g., herself flanked). The character will not always knowing which battles are that and how many there will even be (roughly what I mean by "when the going gets tough). In short, she wouldn't rush to use it up.

I will reduce the options and repetitive dice-rolls (was trying to make ready-to-post rounds, but fair you can put it together).

The combat section has been halved, see what you think.

Somewhat better, still longer than I would like but I understand more of your motivations now. There are still 2 options for Mystic Focus, I will assume if she needs it I will default to spell combat unless you are already out of spells, then will use claws. Is that fair?

The "boss" type fights will *probably* be fairly obvious.

Thank you for the backup offer; however for full disclosure and to prevent hardship for your party, I'll add that a level 1 witch is a 'very weak' backup to a party of 4... level 1 witches are even weaker than level 1 wizards and do better in a party of 5 or 6. At higher levels, with a strong melee and healer in the group, they can actually contribute more as their buff/debuff effect becomes substantial.

So if one of the four party members drop you should skip me and take a melee, healer, arcane type instead. If you decide to run with 5 players though please let me know as I think she could be useful to this party due to her decent diplomacy skill and tongues hex.

Enjoy this scenario everyone! :)

Cheers,
PDK

I'm good to start next weekend, too.

The Professor's botting instructions are pretty simple, so let me know if you need more clarification.

This is fair. I can say that explicitly in there, and add some sub-spoilers so that only first options are visible face-up.

The Concordance

Here's Salmok, the oread occultist. Played him as a druid and was planning on going Cave Druid. But found the Geomancer Occultist and felt that was a much better fit for his character. I have him all re-statted on paper (for the most part) but have to upload him on here. Will add some bot instructions for him.

I'm fine with running with 5 people too.

The Concordance

Forgot to fill this out:

Player: MauveAvengr
Character: Salmok Cloudhunter
Class/Level: Occultist (geomancer) 1
PfS #: 215382-7
Faction: Concordance
Slow Track or Normal: Normal
Have you played or GMed this scenario before?: No
Have you played play-by-post before?: Yes

Anything else you want me to note on your Chronicle (purchases, training, etc):

Rebuilt my character from druid to occultist. Updated stats, changed items around, etc.

Since posting the recruiting for this module I discovered they are legal to play with up to 6 or 7 people, so I don't think adding 1 witch will drastically change the difficulty, and it sounds like the other players are okay with it, so PDK, Magdelina is IN! :)

Please dot and delete in gameplay. I will probably make the intro post about mid-week.

OMG I just saw that PDK stands for Purple Dragon Knight! How fun! Here are my two purple dragon guardians <3

That's much easier to visually scan! Thanks.
