Spectacular!

As I said in my initial post, while I do have certain preferences like gestalt and being able to use 3pp material, I would be okay with whatever you're good with.

Heck, I would even be fine with only using the CRB, though that would be rough, lol.

Agreed on CRB only - that would be really rough. I'd prefer at a minimum all paizo official, but I'd make it work lol

I'll get started with a little bit about myself. I have played TTRPGs off and on for about 25 years. Most of my gaming has been in person, but that has been difficult to do as I have gotten older. I have experience with GURPS, DND 3.x and Pathfinder. I am reasonably new at GMing, but I have done it in the past in live situations. I think PbP will work better for me, as it will allow for more thought and planning and less on the spot decisions.

Due to my relative inexperience, I don't think I would be comfortable working with gestalt characters. I have a bit of a collector streak, and I think I have all the Paizo official 1st edition Pathfinder material. I don't have any particular objections to their use.

I would like some feedback regarding character creation. In person, I am a fan of rolling for ability scores, but I am fine with point buy as well. I would like to hear your thoughts.

1st level, non gestalt, all Paizo? That sounds good. I only ask about starting level because I've seen people start APs from 1st-4th, despite the official being 1st.

Personally, I prefer point buy, though depending on method chosen, rolling dice can work.

If going with point buy, I would suggest at least 20. I have seen 15 before, especially for Rise game, but not only do you end up with mostly average PCs(and thus not true heroes), you also end up being kinda single focused.

What races do you wanna allow?

Are you okay with allowing Background Skills?. I rather like them, as they allow for some nice backstory expansion.

Traits?

I prefer background skills for the same reason Monkeygod.

This is what I'm thinking for character building:
20pts buy for abilities
Background skills rule in effect from Unchained
2 traits plus a campaign trait from the Rise players guide (total of 3)
As for races, be reasonable. If they are exotic, please provide a sufficient reason for them to be in Sandpoint.

Am i missing anything?

Thanks for the invite, Monkey! Crossing my fingers I can get in.

Are we using the Variant Multiclass system? Any classes/archetypes blocked (I'm looking at you, Beastbonded Witch!)?

The good thing of starting a group like that is that we can fully coordinate the backgrounds. Like, it's possible to even say we were a group before, the town militia, a religious sect, etc... Which makes putting the group together ingame a lot easier!

I posted above as a dot, just wanted to verify that I'm one of MG's players! I'm out of town today but I should be able to get a character going tomorrow.

Are we still up to go, guys? Echoxero, any news?

GrinningJest3r's character here. Sorcerer with Solar and Fire bloodlines. Heads up I do not plan on being completely optimized with this. At least four of my feats are going towards skill focus and eldritch heritage to get some of that Starsoul bloodline as well.

I've had a bit of a creative block this week so no full backstory yet, but the gist of what I've been imagining is, as an evoker and a history buff, Aes is in Sandpoint specifically to gather lore regarding one of the single most powerful evokers in known history, and then bring that knowledge to the City of Brass for... some reason.

So skills are kn arc, hist, nature, planes, then SpC, UMD, and appraise (gotta know the value of and how to use the random things you find during a hunt for knowledge).

High intelligence and charisma but low wisdom, Aes should generally have information to impart and questions to ask, but whether the information is practical to use would really depend on the questions being asked. I guess literal with a hint of falling down rabbit holes would be a good way to describe him.
