Torsten turned to face the crimson mantis. It was ignoring him, which was to its own peril. He didn't even try to force it to move or to take it to the ground. Rather, he focused on landing just a handful of punches, doing his best to punch his way right through it.

Barely able to dodge the attacks of the large red mantis, Usawoti watches as the dwarf unleashes hell on the creature. Realizing the thing would probably not fall for a feint, instead, Usawoti reaches out and touches it with the bone ring. Commanding thre ring "ഗോസ്റ്റ് സ്ട്രൈക്ക്, വാംപിരിക് ടച്ച്" Hoping the ghost strike's vampiric touch would lend him some strength.

Torsten couldn't tell where the assailant was, except that he was somewhere to the south. He moved in that direction, hoping that his runic tattoos would be up to the task...

The assassin briefly turns ethereal to avoid Usawoti's blast, but Torsten takes advantage of the distraction to get ready. As soon as she turns corporeal again, he unleashes a barrage of powerful punches. Only two connect, but they're enough to bring her down. As she falls, the mantis form transforms back into that of a crimson-armored woman - who then dissolves into the now-familiar red mist.

Seeing the giant mantis return to the form of a woman and then the body dissipate, Usawoti takes a second and uses some of his innate magic to heal himself. As he picks up the sabers and tucks them in his pack, he turns to his friend. "Sadly we did not find the wizard, but we did deal with the red assassins. Torsten grunted in affirmation as he recovered the sabers. They would fetch a decent price, if sold, or would make mementos that could be hung on a wall, if not. It was not every day that an elite assassin was dispatched.

"Lead on, lad. Let's hope that the wizard isn't ready for us."

This room is furnished with tables, chairs, and stools but holds nothing of interest.

Chuckling to himself, Usawoti points towards the wall covering and in his best dwarven accent declairs "tappistrrrries." giving his friend a smile, he moves around the table and looks out through the wide entrance.

This magnificent room is lavishly decorated with frescoes, mosaics, and hanging tapestries of crimson silk embroidered with gold thread. Three colorful stained-glass windowpanes present scenes of past kings and queens. A huge fireplace stands in the east corner, its mantle shaped like an enormous stone tree that has spread its branches up to the ceiling. Against the southwest wall, on a low dais of granite, sits the Crimson Throne, an iron throne draped with deep red silks and crimson velvet cushions.

Unfortunately, the throne room is occupied. Three Large hellhounds (each with a Gray Maiden handler) stand at the ready, in addition to a robed Varisian woman. More notable, however, is the beautiful woman sitting on the Crimson Throne - Queen Ileosa, herself. Seeing you, she smiles. "Greetings, friends! Thank you for finally seeking me out. I've been observing your progress for quite some time now and wish to commend you for the assistance you have provided the people of our fair city."

There were many things that Torsten was expecting to find. A power hungry wizard. A horrific demon. A unit of masked maidens. But the queen herself? That took him completely by surprise. Even more so because he didn't sense anyone except for her.

How could she actually be here, apparently undefended? It meant that either she was a fake, or she was trying to force a confrontation before their sword was ready. Either way, the only solution he saw was getting close enough to get his hands around her neck.

Furrowing his brow at the queens unusual greeting, Usawoti, pauses as Torsten stepped up and begins speaking. Looking towards the Gray Maidens mounted on the hellhounds, "The red assassins did not seem like commendations." Seeing his friend boldly walk into the throne room, Usawoti followed, considering the best method for dealing with the riders and their mounts.

@Torsten: now that you're closer, you can sense the life auras of eight creatures in the throne room - presumably the three hellhounds, the three handlers, the queen, and the other woman.

The queen's demeanor turns cold at your words. "While you've been a great help to the city, your services are no longer required. As a reward for all you've done, I will not seek your execution as traitors - provided you leave Korvosa immediately and never return."
This functions as suggestion targeted toward one of you (your choice). Will DC 18 negates, so it's unlikely to have an effect. ;-)

Torsten shook off the magic and glanced over at Usawoti. "The eight of them." He said to his friend. He was of two minds about the situation. It made sense to retreat and get the sword, but on the other hand, they were within striking distance of the Queen, and that was not an opportunity that came everyday. "We good?" He asked, not wanting to make the decision to launch the attack without making sure that they were on the same page.

Wondering what the queen might be thinking, Usawoti knew his friend would not be willing to turn his city over to the death and destruction the queen seemed to be planning. Chuckling at Torsten's comment about 'eight of them' He'd seen fights where there were more than eight and it felt like all he'd done was stay out of the dwarfs way. He nods to his friend, "Torsten we are always good."

Looking back to the queen, he smiles, "My dear Ileosa, you don't mind if I call you Ileosa do you? There is nothing I'd rather do than leave this city and return to the Cinderlands." His smile turns wolfish, "Once I have what I've been sent for." He gestures her general direction with the hammer. "You see it was the Shoanti's responsibility to keep the Fangs of Kazavon from the light of day. You ignored the warnings on their hidden sanctuary and brought them back to the world of men. Return them to me and I will leave this metropolis to its inhabitants."

Frowning as the queen growls, Usawoti, comments to Torsten, "That doesn't seem very lady like." Seeing the gleam in his friend's eye, he's not surprised by the dwarfs charge. Following his friend as best as he can, he stops at the bottom of the podium. Turning facing the enemy, he lifts his bone ring telling them "പ്രതിധ്വനിക്കുന്ന വാക്ക് ശത്രുത" Voicing his enmity for them, causing it to echo through the hall.

With a sudden surge of motion, Torsten barrels through the queen's guards, shoving one of the Infernal hounds out of the way as he does so. In seconds, he's within reach of Ileosa. Before anyone can react, he rips her off of the Crimson Throne and stomps on her head, bursting it like a water-filled balloon.

Moments later, Usawoti's chanting echoes across the chamber.

Almost everyone in the chamber is battered by the cacophany of sound, rendering them all but helpless. In response, the robed woman backs away from Torsten and disappears. The dwarf can no longer sense her, which likely means she's teleported away.

One Gray Maiden passed her saving throw, but every other enemy is dazed this round.

Torsten blinked in surprise as the 'queen' went down. Not knowing what to make of it, he continued to lay into the maidens. All he could know for certain was that they couldn't stop, and that the time to think would occur once the room had been cleared.

Realizing that with the two woman, they supposed were casters, out of the way that Torsten would focus on the Gray Maidens and the hellhounds, Usawoti changes tack. @Usawoti: You need to be visible to an opponent you're trying to feint unless you have the Verbal Feint talent. Two-weapon fighting requires a full-attack action, but the Dual Attack feature from the dual-wielding sphere is an attack (Standard) action. As such, I'll ignore the klar roll this round. On a related note, Fatal Thrust requires an attack action or an AoO, so it can't be used with full-attacking.

Ileosa's corpse rapidly melts away, and in seconds, all that remains are her royal robes, the Crown of Thorns, and a massive (over 15 gallons) pool of blood.

Game Room
This polygonal room is illuminated by three windows set in deep, tall niches. To either side of each niche are two white marble statues on high pedestals. Each of the sex 3ft-tall statues depicts a woman in the same pose, hands high above her head and clutching an object. The statue on the left of the northwest niche grasps a large key, while the one to the right holds an open book. Proceeding clockwise through the room, the statues near to the northeast niche hold a shield and a star, and the ones near the southeast niche hold a hammer and a crown. In the middle of the room is a round table with six chairs. A small wooden case sits on the table.
