OK, I'll enact the previous plan and close the door to just enough of a crack to see through and control the illusion. If the wasps look like they aren't going to follow the illusion out the balcony door for some reason, I'll close the door

Niu grabs a card and notices it is the 2 of clubs. After he tosses it to the floor a kobold appears standing over it.

The kobold starts dancing and shouting, telling the wasps how ugly they are and how small their stingers are.


A swarm of wasps bears down and attacks the kobold.

The kobold acts as if being stung, screams, and runs out the balcony door, jumping over the railing.


The swarm goes as far as the balcony door and stops. It hovers there for a while and returns to the nest.

Niu closes the door and sighs. "Seriously? Maybe they are blocked from leaving the room somehow."

Turning from the door, he heads back toward the stairs. "Well, let's look around downstairs. If we don't find another way up, we can always come back once the wasps have calmed down."

"Let's check the room with the music first." Approaching the room that they passed by on the way to the greenhouse, he pauses to examine the door and listen to the sounds beyond the door.

Strains of harp music fill this room, emanating from a large harp placed on a six-foot diameter dais in the room’s southwest corner. Other musical instruments are mounted on the walls here, from large woodwinds to tiny fiddles. A few padded stools are scattered throughout the room.

Donovan will move over to the drum, setting down the hammer he picks up a mallet and bangs it trying to match the harp. When Angi mentions it's time to move he will return the mallet and turn to follow. Stopping to turn around to grab his hammer.

"This door looks safe." Niu calls out before flinging the door open.


This gloomy dining room contains a narrow table with a single high-backed wooden chair at each end. Other chairs and a sideboard stand against the room’s eastern wall. The headless corpse of a hairy, humanoid creature sprawls across the middle of the table. Three hideous, dog-sized fleas are feeding on the corpse. The sharp, jagged edges of their jaws greedily clatter for blood.

As Niu retreats into the other room, he warns the team. "Some big flea things coming this way."

He uses Protective Luck on Agnimitra as he hides behind the Ifrit.
