Filona Fiorde |
Filona is still tense from being inside a goblin town. She checks the hut trying to make sense of everything. In reality the gnome is curious about what happened. Sadly, she has never practiced much of investigating, as her attention span is usually too short for such a thing.
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 2
As expected, she takes a peek in the hut and is too distracted by the daily livings of goblins to make sense of any of it.
Caladorn Estvial |
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 17
"Nobody home. There was a fight though. We can search it after - let's try the next hut"
Still moving quietly, he goes back to door 1, listens, and looks to see if it's locked.

Baradim Walks-The-Earth |
Baradim opens his own door, looks over the situation, and gives a nod at Caladorn's words. Closing the ramshackle door quietly, he moves over to the base of the stairs where he waits for them to try the door.

After a quick look around to make sure everyone is ready, Caladorn opens the door (Door 1, again, rapier in hand)

Temur Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Filona Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
As Caladorn opens the door, he sees a small 10'x10' hut with narrow slits in the walls (right around a goblin's eye level).
The door to the south of the hut is open with three goblins on the walkway leading deeper into the village. The red goblin has a wooden tube about a foot in length pointing at the door Caladorn just opened. A flash emerges from the tube and a flaming pyrotechnic “candle” shoots at Caladorn.
Firework attack: 1d20 ⇒ 7
The goblins appear somewhat afraid and the candle fires into the wall of the hut.

Filona Fiorde |
Filona jumps at the attack and yelps. She is too impressed to act right away.
Baradim Walks-The-Earth |
Baradim quickly climbs the stairs, moving past the others with his buckler raised and his dagger drawn. He moves off to the side of the room, calling out to the goblins on the other side.
"By the Dawnflower's light, cease your fighting! We do not wish to take your lives. Lay down your arms now or face Her wrath!" Baradim shouts, his voice bellowing. He quickly repeats the same in the grunting tones of Orcish, hoping to find a common tongue with them.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
I am hoping that, if they understand Common or Orc, that they'll stand down.
GM_Corwyn |
The goblins do not seem to understand Baradim's words; instead they shriek and howl. They move in blindly and attack Baradim.
The goblins appear to be shaken - your best guess is that whatever happened earlier is still affecting them. They do not seem to be interested in any conversation.
Baradim, both the red and blue goblins will provoke an attack of opportunity. You may choose either goblin to attack.
Red Goblin attack: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Baradim deflects the red goblin's attack using his buckler.
Blue Goblin attack: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Baradim deflects the blue goblin's attack using his dagger.
Green Goblin attack: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Green Goblin confirm: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Green Goblin damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
The green goblin manages to stab Baradim with its dogslicer.
Posh is up.
Baradim Walks-The-Earth |
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Baradim, seeing their fear and shock on the goblin faces, realizes that they will not talk. Anything and everything is a danger to them now.
"They're in shock. Put them down carefully if you can." Baradim's interest in the bounty was minimal; something terrible had happened here and he was interested in learning what it was. First though, he had to survive. With that thought in mind, he strikes at the goblin that moves closest to the door before a wicked blade catches him just barely under the coat.
Attack of Opportunity v.s. Red: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Filona Fiorde |
Filona, being in a bad position to use her most powerful spell, focuses scared on messing with one of the goblins.
Case Daze on Red. DC 15
GM_Corwyn |
Baradim's swipe with his dagger is deflected by the Red goblin's shield. It nimbly dodges Caladorn's rapier and attempts to resist Filona's spell while Gundar moves as close as he can to Baradim.
@Gundar: Does your character have a way to deliver the touch spell at range? If not, I will save your roll until you can reach him.
Red Goblin Will Save vs Daze: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
The red goblin's mind is clouded by Filona's spell.
The Red Goblin will take no actions next round.
Posh, are there any other actions you plan on taking this round? If not, Round 1 is over. Round 2 begins with Temur.
Temur Namsrai |
sorry about that.
Temur will fire his bow once more at the red foe in an attempt to clear a path for Baridim to retreat to or reinforcements to advance

Baradim Walks-The-Earth |
Baradim recoils from the strike, taking the blow on his side before taking a moment to study the goblin in front of the door. After studying him for a moment, he slashes out at the goblin aiming to clear the space so he can step aside his allies.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
If the goblin goes down at all, I will 5ft step into his space. If not, no biggie.
GM_Corwyn |
Both Temur's bow strike and Baradim's dagger slash miss their mark. The three goblins strike back.
The red goblin swings its dogslicer at Temur
Red attack: 1d20 ⇒ 20

The red goblin's attack slices into Temur's left leg.
Red damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The green and blue goblins swing at Baradim
Blue attack: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Green attack: 1d20 ⇒ 10
The goblins don't seem to be good at coordinated strikes in a confined space and both attacks are deflected.
Posh is up
Caladorn Estvial |
A couple of Q's - 1) How is Red attacking Temur; Caladorn is in the way. 2) Wasn't Red dazed this round?
Caladorn tries to stab Red again,

Yes, Red was Dazed - and my map was old - no damage from Red last turn on which would have been Caladorn. (Still getting used to recalling effects after several days between actions).
Caladorn is having difficulty finding an opening as his attack is deflected by the red goblin's dogslicer.

I wonder if I can fit a Color Spray from between Caladorn's legs (elf urine at its best) without hitting any friendlies. If I can, I'll RP it. If not, I'll Daze someone else. Please let me know.
Filona Fiorde |
Filona repeats her previous attempts to hinder the goblins, targeting another (blue) this time.
Daze at blue
GM_Corwyn |
Filona sends her magic at another goblin in an attempt to befuddle it.
Will DC 15: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14
The blue goblin tries with all its will to resist the power of Filona's magic but goblins possess neither wisdom nor strength of will. The blue goblin is dazed.
I am going to create a symbol and place it on the blue goblin to indicate that it is dazed.
Posh Stemtimple |
Oh, wait, the fight is on a ledge on 5' up in the air? I thought it was higher! Can I change my action last round? If that's the case, I could have charged right across the field and attacked the bad guys on the ledge from Walnut's back!
If I could have done the charge, here it is...
Lance Mounted ChargeHit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 5 + 2 = 25
Lance Damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 6) + 2 = 11
GM_Corwyn |
You can make the attacks while mounted and reach the red goblin (but it will get cover - wall and Caladorn). Walnut's movement in the muddy village is hampered as it is difficult terrain (and thus you cannot charge through it). As a cavalier, you would know this prior to starting your action. I will allow you to use your move action to control Walnut and have him move to your current position and make a normal attack. I will retcon your action from the previous round to simply move Walnut through the mud rather than dismount.
Temur Namsrai |
"Let's give them something else to toy with" Temur calls as he lifts his compass and a been of light shoots out of it materializing as an eagle behind green who immediately lashes out into green
Using Survitor
This ability functions as summon monster I, but you can use it only to summon a single creature, and the effect lasts for 1 minute. At 4th level and every 3 levels thereafter, the level of the summon monster spell increases by 1, to a maximum of summon monster VII at 19th level. You can’t have more than one servitor in effect at a time. At any time, you can expend 1 point of mental focus as a free action to extend the duration of an active servitor by 1 minute.
