Welcome revolutionaries!
I hope to play through all of the War for the Crown modules, but for now my focus is Crownfall. I'm excited to be here, and I'm excited that you've all accepted my invitation to begin this adventure.
You can help me out a lot if you can update your character's profile to look like the following:
<class>/<level>| HP <current>/<max> | AC <normal>/<touch>/flat-footed> | F+<fort>/R+<reflex>/W+<will> | Init+<initbonus> | Perc+<perceptionbonus> | Sen. Mot. <Sense Motive Bonus>
I'm also open to other formats if anyone has any suggestions.
Regarding posting: I can check posts regularly throughout the day, but I will plan on making one post per weekday, and at least one post per weekend. I'm not concerned about time zones, as we're probably on different time zones no matter what we do, so it may just take some time getting used to when everyone will be posting regularly.
If you ever have any suggestions for something I as a GM can do to improve, please let me know.
Lastly, lets make this fun. I'm excited for this, and I hope you are too!

GM TBD |

Hi everyone.
I've also set up a Discord server for general chatting and RP (should there be an instance of RP that anyone wants to continue, but may only involve a portion of the party).
Click here if you would like to join.
I'll get a post up later today or tomorrow (it's a big one) but for now feel free to give an overview of your characters.

Izalco Zespire |

Checking in. Thanks for running this TBD!
Today is pretty busy for me so I've gotta keep this brief but I look forward to playing with you all. I love me some RP heavy stories, really excited to see how this AP plays out.
Larin as we're of the same house we should probably figure out how exactly we're related. I left my Zespire bloodline relatively vague so hopefully our backgrounds can gel together without too much hassle.

Cecilia Volso |

Cecilia is ready to go! (Except equipment, since I never rolled for starting gold...oops. I'll get to purchasing.)
Gold: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 3, 6) = 25 x10 = 250.
Um. Wow. I will gladly take that.
In my experience the more players there are the harder it is for everyone to keep track of what's going on. The only adventure I've been in with more than six players died very quickly. So I'm somewhat against a seventh, but it's not a super strong preference as long as we think we can keep things moving.

Jezanna of the Deep |

On a completely different note; as you can see I've made two different aliases. I'm in a game with a vigilante who does this and enjoy being able to instantly see whether it's the 'social' or 'vigilante' persona talking.

Tabar Ballast |

Hm... I am on the fence... the last time I was in a group that voted in a seventh it wasn't long before we lost folks... so it kinda evened out in the wash. That being said, I am still not convinced that the starting number didn't contribute to people leaving. (shrug)
If pushed for a vote, I would vote yes on the grounds that the random person you squeeze to fit in might just have some of the coolest ideas in game... but it isn't a strong yes, if that makes sense.

Olnaris Valkavian |

Thanks for the selection!
Olnaris should be set to jet. I'm of a similar mindset to Cecilia, more than six quickly gets hard to handle.
One note, I'm not a traditional kineticist, being slightly less squishy than a wizard, so my general combat MO will be standing back as far as possible and throwing things with my brain.

Izalco Zespire |

I think the two alias approach makes a lot of sense!
Re: Seventh Player
That can get hectic, I've been running a game for a 7 person party in real life for a long time now. It might mean we trivialize a lot of encounters with the sheer number of skills and chances to roll well, so I'd recommend keeping that in mind.
It does bolster the party against player attrition which is nice. If you drop to six or even five players you still have plenty of the party left to keep going.
I don't have a strong opinion either way, I'd likely err toward six players myself but I'm not against trying to make it work.

GM TBD |

The two alias approach will be very helpful. The pictures even have some very slight similarities, which is nice.
Alright, six it will stay. Thank you for your thoughts.
Currently we have 4 of our 6 that have posted here in the discussion. I have my initial game post ready to go, so once we hear from our two remaining players, we will be good to go.
On another note, does anyone have a preference for maps? They can be nice in and out of combat. I'm comfortable with Roll20 or Google Slides, but let me know what will work best for you so that I can begin preparing those. I may also post them on the discord for everyone to see as well.

Larin Zespire |

Checking in too. Thanks for the selection, VERY happy to be here! Finally I'll get the chance to play this AP.
@Izalco: what is your relationship towards Orlundo (the Zespire Senator NPC)? I guess Izalco can be a distant cousin of Larin? Larin is the daughter of Hector, brother to Orlundo (and, therefore, his niece).
About the party size, I wouldn't suggest going beyond 6... Already big enough! :) Even with four or five we'd be golden already. But your call!
About maps, I like both Roll20 and Google Slides, so please feel free to choose whatever is easier for you. I know, as a GM, sometimes it's a pain to deal with those.
Cheers!

Tabar Ballast |

Maps wise I am cool with either, but I typically prefer google slides. It is a bit more compatible with my phone for when I am checking things on the go.
@Cecilia, think that having the two avatars is almost standard for vigilantes... every time I see one you the player swaps between the two, for just that reason.
If anyone wants to concoct some past reason why we would know each other shoot me a PM and I will happily hammer it out with you.

Izalco Zespire |

@Izalco: what is your relationship towards Orlundo (the Zespire Senator NPC)? I guess Izalco can be a distant cousin of Larin? Larin is the daughter of Hector, brother to Orlundo (and, therefore, his niece).
Yeah I was thinking cousin as well. I was looking for a Zespire family tree when making Izalco and read that Orlundo is the third son, so I can be a son of one of the older siblings, Orlundo's nephew. Which works since it looks like Izalco is about a decade older than Larin.

Realizing I never finished purchasing gear with my starting gold. Should have that done followed up with an intro post later today.

I'm not extremely worried about gear. Everyone is being assigned a unique mission, so feel free to adjust your gear to have anything you might feel you need to accomplish your tasks.

Kyralina Licina |

Checking in!
I am comfortable with both Roll20 and Google Slides.
As for character connections, Kyralina's family estate is in the Avin prefecture, in the north-east and quite far from Oppara, but they have been maintaining a relatively modest townhouse in Oppara for the last 5 years or so. They are not an important family by any means, but are trying hard to become one, so you may have seen Kyralina and her sisters at parties, teas and other social functions.

Cecilia Volso |

Just realized I never spoke up about the maps. I've used both, but in my experience Google Slides is easier.
Kyralina: I'm rolling with your statement about parties to assume that Cecilia is at least on speaking terms with her. As two minor members of the nobility, I imagine they would have been attending many of the same functions.

GM TBD |

Love the questions everyone!
Izalco, thanks for the images you linked to describe your outfit. I might steal that, it really helped me visualize the character.
Edited: Tabar, I don't think I was super specific on the date/time of the Gala, but I'll make sure to do better at that. I was going to give everyone a time gap (approx. 3 days) between this meeting and the gala in case anyone had things they needed to do. Sorry I didn't communicate that better.

Izalco Zespire |

Larin Zespire |

Hey guys! Got a bit of a rough couple days at work. Sorry for the lack of posting - it'll normalize by Monday. @GM, please feel free to bot me until then. Thanks guys and I'll be back soon :)

Cecilia Volso |

Since Olnaris and I are having a private conversation at some point during this trip, should we roll Perception to look for spies? If we're already being followed there was some interesting stuff discussed that we would rather not become public knowledge.

Tabar Ballast |

So... I passed the following message to our benefactress through our badges and asked that she pass it to you all. Assuming she did so it was: "Warn the rest... folks following us are planning on burning the tailors. Get out."
If she did not, however, disregard this... I am trying to... defuse the situation personally... hopefully without burning.

Tabar Ballast |

Heh... that was fun... cannot say I expected them to be that dumb though...
So I will be posting this in all my games: I am moving from EST to PST finally (this was kinda expected but has been in limbo due to the pandemic). The movers will begin being at my house tomorrow, with final pack out day being Thursday, after which time I will begin to be on the road.
I am not making a straight shot, as it were, across the country. I will have a few rest periods to see family on the way. I expect that I will finish the cross country period mid OCT, after which time I begin the house hunting phase in earnest.
I should be able to keep posting during this time period, but some days (especially any that I am driving) are probably going to be limited in quantity (though hopefully not quality) of posts. That said, feel free to bot me in combat it necessary to keep things moving.

Izalco Zespire |

Congrats on the big move Duke! My wife made the opposite trip, I hear it's exhausting but with plenty to see and do in between. Hope it all goes smoothly.

Cecilia Volso |

Cecilia is done with pre-Gala preparations, so I'm happy to move forward whenever. (I'm only posting this because I know sometimes it can be hard for a GM to know when players are good to move on. If other people still have more they want to do I'll happily continue RPing.)

GM TBD |

It looks as though Larin is ready based on their post, and we'll wait on Tabar and Izalco.
When everyone's ready, we'll pick up just as everyone is leaving the pre-Gala cocktail party. Izalco, since it is your party, if you would like to set the stage for that, you are free to do so.
Some rules regarding the Gala:
• Breastplates, ceremonial armor, and light armor may be worn inside the senate building, but no other armor is permitted for anyone except guards.
• Potions, scrolls, spell component pouches, and wands are permitted inside the senate building, and in fact, many senators are themselves spellcasters. However spellcasting is not permitted within the building
without written approval (often issued to entertainers).
• Only light and one-handed weapons are allowed inside the senate building; ranged weapons and two-handed weapons are not allowed inside the building.
All weapons brought into the senate building must be peace-bound—secured in a sheath with a length of decorative cord. Drawing a peace-bound weapon requires a full-round action. Guards do not need topeace-bind their weapons.
• While guests are free to roam the senate building when invited, individual senators’ offices are off-limits and locked. No one but the senators and a single aide for each is permitted on the senate floor during a vote.

Tabar Ballast |

So my cane sword would be sealed, assuming the IDed it as such... which I am assuming they will as he has no reason to hide it.
I am done shopping... everyone would learn everything Tabar did prior to us meeting for the pre party... say that morning via sealed message.

Izalco Zespire |

Sorry, busy week so far. I am good to move toward the Gala, should have an actually gameplay post tonight at some point
