Hef Sadir

Hef moves into the room, drawing his hatchet as he moves. Once he gets into position he slashes through the net to remove it.
"They are just honorless robots, hack them to pieces."
Returning Silver Handaxe vs. KAC 5? - Entangled: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 - 2 = 17 for Magic/Silver/Slashing + W.S.: 1d4 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 5 = 9
More importantly, if any adjacent ally is attacked (first attack vs. them), he uses his Bodyguard & Harm's Way feats to boost their AC by 2 and soak the attack if it hits.
Chk'tarlsh
|
"Krara ish right," Chk'tarlsh says to the nearest robot, sounding almost apologetic.
The shirren takes a measured step closer, then launches a double combo at the bot. Nimble Fusillade - Guarded Step and Full Attack
Long sword 1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 8 - 4 = 14

Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Sauros
|
Sauros moves into the room, flying just barely over Krara's head via his jetpack (which will provoke from [purple], if it has a reaction available). As he does, he pulls the moisture from the air and coalesces it once again around his free arm, and then shoulder slams the robot from behind.
Entropic Strike (vs EAC): 1d20 + 10 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 2 + 2 = 21

Twich shares what she knows about the weaknesses of these things with her friends.
Then she blasts them with pellets of hard magic.

Aldane hits Purple! Hef slashes his net and prepares to bodyguard. Chk'tarish misses Red twice. Sauros moves over Purple, triggering an attack of opportunity.
Purple Slam!: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
This gets blocked by Hef's body guarding.
Then Sauros hits, and Twich hits Purple with a magic missile!

Krara looks around the room as the fight intensifies. Not seeing a door in here! she calls out. Smash 'em enough so they can't follow and let's get out! Stalling us is as good as killing us.
Assuming Aldane's strike doesn't crumble Purple:
She delivers a rough headbutt to the guardian in front of her before moving back into the hall possibly provoking from Purple
Attack on Purple w/ Imrpoved Get 'Em! v KAC: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 10 + 2 = 31 for Bludgeoning: 1d3 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11

Hef glances back at Krara, "That is... quite an assumption to make Krara. We have already seen strong evidence of secret doors in this complex. Plus, there is likely nothing to prevent them from just following us out of the room."
He steps up and stabs his trident at one of the bots.
Guarded Step, Stab Blue.

Chk'tarlsh

GM HMM - as discussed Chuck has Enhanced Resistance - Kinetic, but it wasn't specified earlier how it is be i ng rules for the game. Not sure how best to proceed.
Chk'tarlsh chitters in annoyance at missing both his previous attacks. He flows into a high-low combo at red, before taking a careful step toward his companions. Nomble Fussilade - diagonal guarded steps allowed?
Long sword 1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 8 - 4 = 14

Twich's glowy pebbles rocks the blue robot for 10 points of damage.
Sauros slams the blue robot for 18 points of damage!
Charles moves in, taking two swings at red, but both attacks miss!
I've taking 5SP of damage off for resistance.
--------
Red takes a guarded step to flank Charles and attacks!!
Slam vs KAC, flank: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 12 + 2 = 29
B damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
And Charles is hit for 9 points of damage!!
Blue takes advanatage of the flank on Charles and attacks twice!!
Slam vs KAC, flank, full attack: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 2 - 4 = 20
B damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Slam vs KAC, flank, full attack: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 2 - 4 = 27

Blue robot (-53HP)
Aldane
Krara
Hef (-7SP)
Twich
Sauros
Krara

Then let's hit them square in the joints! Krara yells, continuing to fire at the central bot.
Improved Get 'Em! at blue, assuming the missiles don't drop it. If they do, will attack red instead (moving into the room for a clear shot if so)
Attack v Blue EAC: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17 for Acid: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 2) + 6 = 13
Sauros

If [blue] is still up, Sauros will full attack, offsetting the -4 with Flank and Get'em.
If [blue] is down, Sauros will Jetpack diagonally towards [red] and use the first attack roll against them.
Entropic Strike (vs EAC): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Bludgeoning, Force: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (2, 4) + 10 = 16
Entropic Strike (vs EAC): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Aldane attacks blue one. If blue is dead then he moves to the red one
solar weapon: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
damage: 2d6 + 10 + 1d4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 10 + (1) = 18
Hef Sadir
|
I think Hef would have stolen the first hit against Chk'tarlsh's using in harm's way.
Hef turns his sights to the last robot (I'm guessing blue will be scrap by the time he acts) and steps next to it. He stabs, trying to jab his spear into a sensitive joint.
Guarded Step, Strike Red
Returning Cold Iron Tactical Spear vs. KAC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 for Magic/Cold Iron/Piercing + W.S.: 1d6 + 3 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 5 = 9 (if hits, gets +1 AC vs. that target)
More importantly, if any adjacent ally is attacked (first attack vs. them), he uses his Bodyguard & Harm's Way feats to boost their AC by 2 and intercept the attack if it hits.
Chk'tarlsh
|
"Thanks," Chk'tarlsh says to Hef as the kasatha moves to shield him from some of the robot's blows. "Almosst like when we fought the jinssul. Except not ash many."
Seeing his companions making short work of the other robots, Chk'tarlsh maintains his focus on the red bot.
Long sword 1: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 8 - 4 = 7
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Long sword 2: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 4 = 10
Slashing Damage: 1d8 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
| GM bigboom |
Aldane swings at blue and knocks it out of commission!!
Krara moves into the room and fires at red but the shot misses!!
Hef steps up to red and lands a good hit for 9 points of damage!!
Ah yes, you're right. I've moved 9 points of damage away from Charles and added 14 points of damage to Hef.
Twich moves into the room and launches two magic missiles at red for 8 points of damage!
As Twich did not have LOS on red, I've moved Twich's token, which then only allowed for 2 magic missiles this round.
Sauros flies through the air, around behind Hef so as not to provoke an attack of opportunity, then strikes red for 16 points of damage!!
Charles again swings twice with his sword but both attacks miss!!
--------
Charles, Hef, Sauros: 1d3 ⇒ 2
See Hef intercept attacks, red decides to simply attack Hef directly!!
Slam vs KAC, full attack: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 4 = 28
B damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
B damage, crit: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
The first attack catches Hef completely off guard, knocking Hef prone and causing 24 points of damage!
Slam vs KAC, full attack, prone: 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 12 - 4 = 17
B damage: 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
And being on the ground leaves Hef exposed as the second slam hits Hef for 13 points of damage!
I believe Hef's KAC is currently 21 minus 4 for being prone for a total of 17. If I'm off, please let me know.

Hef simply steps back and pulls a blessing of his god down upon himself, "Mighty Kadrical, thank you for the pleasure of defending my allies. Grant me the strength to continue my duty."
Guarded Step, 1st Level Mystic Cure on self for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 HP back.
More importantly, if any adjacent ally is attacked (first attack vs. them), he uses his Bodyguard & Harm's Way feats to boost their AC by 2 and intercept the attack if it hits.
Chk'tarlsh

Chk'tarlsh continues to press the attack as his companions join him.

Combat Concluded!!!
-------
I'm going to re-post the description of this room so that the party can decide what to do next.
Partial concrete walls divide this large office into several cubicle workstations. A statue in the northwest corner is the room’s most prominent feature: a brass rat crouching defensively over piles of antiquated metal coins, paper currency, and credsticks. The statue extends an empty paw, as if requesting payment.
Because the party had also discovered the southern secret door from Datch's office, I'm unmasking another hallway along the SE portion of the map.
Door tracker:
- Red doors disabled & unlocked
Krara
|
Krara looms over their prisoner. Don't mind me Datch. And please - go for the gun. The vesk then pats down the ratfolk's pockets, looking for a credstick.
Krara'll put some credits in the evil statue's paw. Ideally Datch's. If the lady doesn't have anything on her, Krara'll grumble and put in 10 of her own.
Hef Sadir
|
Hef healed 8 HP that last round.
The Kasathan frowns down at the wreckage on the floor while pulling a small vial and slamming it back.
Using his free mk1 healing serum for 1d8 ⇒ 5 HP.
He searches the room for anything useful to their predicament or any hidden exits.
Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
| GM bigboom |
Hef heals up his more serious wounds although he remains winded.
Hef is at -45SP. The party could take a 10 min rest if desired but just keep in mind that the total countdown is 60 mins before self-destruction.
Searching around, Hef finds no hidden doors.
Twich looks over the computers but finds that all data has been wiped.
Krara finds a few creds off Datch who grins in amusement. "Ah Krara, ever so resourceful. You know I take full credit for your sharpness. When I first meet you, you were but a lump of formless, useless clay. But I have shaped you, trained you, prepared you, made you a better sentient than you previously were or could have ever been. Without me, you never would've built up the experience to become the vesk you are today. My challenges have forged you into who you are. I am quite proud of how you, my student, have turned out."
Looking at Charles, Datch says, "You Chk’tarlsh, however, I'm disappointed in. Seeing you swing that toy of yours around impotently at those stationary robots is an embarassment. I never did think much of you. You had a tiny spark of potential but obviously no will, no drive, no discipline. Not like Krara here. Pfft. Well, even the greatest of all teachers throughout history have had students worth nothing who amounted to nothing."
Eyeing the rest of the party, Datch's gaze doesn't linger as he mutters under his breath, "Bah! The rest of you are obviously insignificant..."
Upon providing the credstick to the shrine, similar to the shrine in Datch's office, a tiny console is revealed which Twich easily operates with no problem. In doing so, the entire complex rumbles and reverberates as the blue force shields are deactivated and the doors unlock.
More hallways on the map are now revealed. The yellow doors cannot be unlocked or penetrated no matter what you try. Your current options on where to go next are:
- Two white doors currently labeled with 1 and 5
- Two blue doors currently labeled with 2 and 3
- One red door currently labeled with 4
No matter which door you select, I'll assume everyone does a perception on the door and Twich attempts an engineering to disable if any trap is discovered on the door. If anyone wants to do anything else before opening a door, please indicate what you will do.

I was formed in the pits, and shaped on the fields of battle. All you You taught me is that there's always another trick with cowards. She brusquely shoves the ysoki back as soon as the credstick is extracted.
As the group discusses their option, the vesk proposes. The blue door next to us should lead back to the center hub we passed on the way in. Should give a better sense of the place.
Proposing door 2, unless anyone has a Super Missile or a Wave Beam to get through yellow yet.
Hef Sadir
|
No need to wait to rest. Hef would most definitely rather die than risk slowing his allies down and killing them. That said, he doesn't WANT to die, so he will just stay in the back of the group until he can get back to full.
| GM bigboom |
Oh Krara is right. Let's clear up a few things. You guys originally arrived via lifts in the western most room. Here's a description:
This oblong lobby features twin stone fountains to the north and south. A set of double doors to the east leads to the main hallway, and doors to the north and south lead to narrow side corridors. The elevator that transported you from your starship to this floor of the complex is clearly visible beyond the glass doors to the west.
In going to Datch's office to the east, you walked through the center cirular room with this description:
This circular chamber is empty, save for an intricate mosaic on the floor depicts an emaciated rat with red eyes curled in on itself. Metal doors lead outward in all four cardinal directions, with impressive double doors leading east and west, while single doors lead north and south.
Alrighty, hopefully that clears things up a bit. It is now up to the party to decide which door to go through next!
As for the Second Wind condition that is now in effect, everyone can recover SP as though spending a 10 minute rest without actually spending a 10 minute rest and without spending any RP. So on that note, I'll assume Charles and Hef heals up SP to full, yah?
Datch responds to Krara, "Oh how naive you are. But that's one of the traits about you that I have found most useful. You are so, so easily manipulated! You cannot even see what is so plainly in front of you... how easily I've puppeteered you. HA! I almost... almost feel sorry for you." She pompously chuckles to herself.
Sauros
|
"You're totally killing my vibes, dude."
Sauros will happily take point.
As far as I can tell, although it's a move action to create my Entropy Shield, I don't see anything that suggests it disappears after combat. It doesn't actually take Entropy Points to create or maintain. So if it's fine with the GM, I'll just rock my shield for the rest of this scenario.
Krara
|
Did anyone bring a gag?
This is in a space-station, right? Thinking doors 1 and 5 will likely lead outside into inhospitable climates, but might be worth confirming. Other than that, door 4 to see if there's another statue?
| GM bigboom |
Datch responds to Sauros, "Pfft... And soon you'll regret not taking your chance to kill me as you'll be dead soon enough. All according to plan... a plan with so many clever facets that your simple brain cannot even comprehend. he he he."
Looking towards Krara, "A gag? Oh really? Are my harmless little words hurting your feelings? Are you at the end of your wits? Well GROW UP! I've designed you to be better than that. C'mon now! Let's see you demonstrate what little intellect you have. Don't disappoint me now, my little protege..."
I'll assume you've gone with door 4. Everyone's tokens have been moved to the door, perceptions rolled, no traps found, so Sauros swings it open and...
Partial concrete walls divide this large office into several cubicle workstations. This room’s décor and layout are nearly identical to the office space behind the other red door. A statue in the southwest corner is the room’s most prominent feature: a brass rat holding a curved dagger in its teeth. The statue is speckled with dried blood and, unlike the previous two shrines, is devoid of material offerings.
Room unmasked on the map. Go ahead and indicate what all of you would like to do next...
Krara
|
| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Krara eyes the dagger-held statue and frowns. She turns to the others.
I am not giving a blood offering to that thing.
She yanks Datch forwards by her scruff. But we do have a bloodbag here...
| GM bigboom |
Krara manhandles (veskhandles?) Datch into the room towards the shrine with Aldane following behind.
Datch cackles at Krara's rough treatment. "The hate is swelling in you now. Draw your weapon. Use it. I am unarmed. Strike me down with it. Give in to your anger! With each passing moment, you make yourself more my servant! It is unavoidable. It is your destiny. You are now....mine."
I'm moving Krara and Aldane's tokens up towards the shrine. Everyone else, I've moved just inside the door as I assume everyone else will at least enter the room, not stand outside in the hallway. That would be strangely awkward.... hehehe
Once Krara reaches the shrine with Datch in tow, three concealed, small-sized rat-daemon creatures suddenly leap out of the shadows and attacks!!

Chk'tarlsh clicks his mandibles loudly in response to Datch's comments.
"Sso you credit ssuccesssh to the teacher while failure ish allotted to the shortcominhksh of the sstudent?" the shirren asks audibly, antennae twitching. "What a conveniently favourable way to view your own place in the world."
"Your wordsh are jusst hot air; I know who I am."

*Swish* *Swish*
Aldane and Charles catch nothing but air as their attacks completely miss the nimble little rat creatures.
Demonstrating amazing flexibility, particularly for a ~6 foot(?) tall vesk, Krara somehow manages to bend over real low and head butts the small, ~2 foot(?) tall red rat for 13 points of damage!!
Twich attempts to daze one of the creatures but it appears the spell is completely ineffective!
Hef identifies these creatures as esurdaemons! They are small daemon outsiders, have darkvision, have a poisonous bite, spell casting abilities, usually speak abyssal & common, and have a variety of immunities AND resistances.
-----------
But now that checkpoint three is complete, this happens.....
Out of nowhere, you (unfortunately) hear a familiar grating goblinoid voice...
| Handsome Gob |
"Coming through!! YEEEE HAAAAAA!!!!"
"Oh look! Hi-C! Some rats! Pest control time!!!!"
