"Huh...you think there's more t' learn from this thing then?" Poffis asks as Valdris explains what he's learned from the strange stones.
Nature (DC 16): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
"Abyssal energy, eh? That'd explain th' crazy an' twisted forest spirits," the gnome confirms after studying the stone - with the benefit of Valdris' own discovery - and giving the matter some thought. "Looks like there was s'posed t' be a lot more of these monolith things spewin' that energy, though. Since there's just th' one, takin' care of it - one way or th' other - oughta put th' forest spirits right again pretty quick. So...that's th' good news, I reckon."

Poffis scowls as the group comes across the strange and corrupted valley, making sure to try and keep her head down and stay out of sight as they approach.
Nature (DC 12): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
"Huh. Seems like that one there's th' leader," Poffis whispers, nodding at the mostly-mundane leaf leshy. "Wonder how th' heck that piece of rock got stuck in its' eye?"
Remembering what happened earlier, at the river, Poffis carefully draws out her sling...certain she'll have need of it very soon.

Grog eyes the situation, seeing the Leshy with part of the stone embedded he points at it "Grog think we end that one, all rest might go too. What you all think?"

Meadow drinks her quicksilver mutagen.

GM Watery Soup |

"Grog think we end that one, all rest might go too. What you all think?"
As Grogggg says this, those who are trained in Arcana or Occultism realize that the stone is channeling energy from the monolith into the leshy crafter, and that the leshy crafter, empowered by the structure, is infecting the rest of the leshys in turn.
Removing this immediate vector, either by killing the leshy crafter or by removing the stone from his eye, will also resolve the problem of the angry nature spirits—at least long enough for the someone to destroy the monolith and end its threat for good.
"Maybe. But he looks normal except for that glowy rock in his eye. Maybe we can get it out and he'll be okay."
It's hard to see at this distance, but Meadow thinks she can pry it out with a Force Open check if the leshy were immobilized.

Hopper stays there and looks at the situation in front of them.
DO we try to stealth there? Or fight our way through it?

GM Watery Soup |

Mechanics are explicitly listed to sneak through, bluff through, fight through, and one other unmentioned option. There is also plenty of space for options not explicitly listed. You guys just need to come to a group decision.

GM Watery Soup |

No, not necessarily. But it's going to be weird if half the group tries to sneak by and half the group opens fire.

![]() |

I'm down for stealth all the way to the baddy at the far end.

Stealth will be a secret check - everyone will need to post their modifiers. Is anyone Expert in Stealth? If so, the untrained can Follow the Expert.

Crouching low, Moko turns to his companions and speaks in a hushed tone.
Moko and Kai go that way, he says, pointing at the northern wall.
Then sneak along wall to stone tower. Hopper. You have another sneak elixir?
(Moko quaffs the mutagen if so).
I go now.
Crouching low, he turns towards the cavern wall then creeps towards it.
Kairuku, gripping Moko's shoulder, leans low and doesn't make a peep.
Stealth +2 (+4 w/mutagen).

![]() |

I am glad you are so eager to drink anything that a dodgy goblin is giving you ;) But keep in mind quicksilver mutagen has some drabacks
First of all you are get damage (on drinking) equal to twice your level. So Meadow get 2 damage and Moko if he will drink 4. It also lowers your fortitude by 2. Adventages is +2 to range attacks, +2 to stealth/thievery/acrobatics and reflex saves and +10 ft to speed.
Hopper reaches for another potion full of silver like fluid and passes it to Moko.
Goblin looks at his allies and asks quietly Valdris
"I can quickly make one more if you like." I have one reagnant and with Quick Alchemy I can produce one more Quicksilver, as Valdris has +2 in Stealth.
Hopper would attempt to follow stealthily but he takes Drakeheart mutagen from Moko and drinks it. You can only have 1 mutagen at the same time.
He hides the bottle and scratches his neck. After a moment he crouches as his skin begins to thicken. On the uncovered parts of his skin, a scales can be seen and his eyes pupils turned yellow and look very similar to lizard eyes.
Drakeheart mutagen gives me +2 to perception, +2 to AC, -1 to will and reflex saves and -1 to all recall knowledge checks.

Valdris: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The group begins the slow crawl forward, inching along the ground. Grogggg spills his beer while crawling, causing him to blurt, "Aw, man!"
One of the leshys looks over and begins hooting ominously.
The group crawls forward a few more feet, and then stands up to duck behind a large, burned tree. Valdris steps on a dry branch, which cracks loudly.
Another leshy looks over and begins hooting.
Finally, they wait for all the leshys' backs to be turned, before darting through an old mastadon ribcage. Kairuku spies a rat scurrying on the ground, and screeches loudly as it grabs a snack.
All the leshys look over at the group, and hoot in unison. All, that is, except the leshy crafter. The leshy crafter is putting the finishing touches on a new leshy, a hideous monster made from spindly vines growing through the carvedopen corpse of an opossum, with two small pebbles serving as the eyes, tied in place with string.
The leshy crafter finishes attaching the last limb, and the opossum leshy twitches to life atop the broken monolith, their body suffused with a dim, yellowish light. They take several jerky steps forward, then
disintegrate, their head falling off and one of the pebble eyes rolling up against Meadow's foot.
The leshy crafter tilts his head and looks right at the Pathfinders.
"Oh, hello!" he says, briefly, before turning back to consider his creation.
“No. No, no, no, the river pebbles were not a success. Very damp. Needs an adder stone? Yes. Adder stone works. Then they can see everything. Also, not slippery, I can tie the string.”
He turns to the Pathfinders.
“Do you have an adder stone?” The leshy stops and looks around. “Or string? Used mine. Need more."

"Well I have some ribbon but it wouldn't work very well for your purposes. Why don't you glue it instead? You can make some hide glue from bits of that opossum."
Meadow bites her lower lip.
"Of course that bring up a very good question. Why are you making these awful monsters?"

GM Watery Soup |

“I’m restoring the natural order! The forest here is very unnatural. Very strange, sad. The plants are a very strange color, they’re green, the rivers never flow with blood, strange monsters everywhere! Just other day, I saw a thing. Like a rat, with a long, fluffy tail! Burying an acorn in the ground. Very horrifying! And my brother leshy says he saw a thing, four feet and a little white tail, branches on its head. Monsters everywhere! Very disturbing!”

![]() |

"You say you're restoring the natural order but um...are you really? I mean...plants are supposed to be green and rivers don't flow with blood and that fluffy-tailed rat is a squirrel. “Why do you have a gooey round thing in your eye?” The leshy puffs up, affronted. “It’s my eye, thank you very much. I like my eye, it’s the very best eye any leshy has. It helps me see things as they really are. It’s unnatural, this place.
But I’m only one leshy, so I’m making friends. Together, we’ll make this place work right, proper nature, with eye-mushrooms, and screaming flowers, and snakes! Not these bad snakes, only one head. Very upsetting. Should have sixteen heads! We will fix.”
The leshy appears to squint at the Pathfinders.
“You look a little creepy. But maybe you are friends? Maybe you will help?” The sharp stone in the leshy’s eye glitters as it says this.

Kai. No. Moko jerks his shoulder to distract Kai from the "S" word.
Moko then focuses on the matter at hand.
Surprised that the corrupted leshies aren't attacking, he joins in with Meadow on the conversation, but is somewhat at a loss as to what to say.
Forest and leaves are green. Water runs cool and clear. Life created in natural way. This not natural. He says as he looks around.
Moko's bright red frills slowly raise as he glares at the Crafter. The veins in his temples protrude as the blood within pumps harder. Visually upset about the corruption around him, he raises his gutteral lizardfolk voice and steps closer to the Crafter.
You disrupt natural order.
He shakes a taloned finger at the crafter to emphasize his point.
This not the way. You create chaos out of natural order. You hurt life. You destroy life and make bad things.
Moko tenses his muscles as he leans in close to the Crafter.
Someone should probably step in to stop Moko from starting a fight. If not, oh well.

GM Watery Soup |

This not the way. You create chaos out of natural order. You hurt life. You destroy life and make bad things.

"Of course we're friends. Haven't I told you a good substitute for string? But if we're friends you need to tell me the truth. You're evading the question. How did you get that stone in your eye? Surely you remember. Things were different before, right?"
