Cenae agrees, ”I could melt it all quick, but my spells might damage any relics.”
No change to status, but I’ve been able to get access to some free WiFi once a day so far to check my games.

GM Zin |

No rush, just getting this Knowledge check up so people who are trained can make it in their own time. As long as Cenae keeps posting, we'll proceed, but at a lighter pace.

![]() |

Engineering: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Dimple looks at the ice, then the pile of clay. The bard interlaces her fingers before stretching her arms. She gently pushes the others aside. "I got this. See, you have to put to hoo-ha's right here. Then you stack 'em like a little log cabin. You know, the kind that might make a perfect getaway spot. Here's the key...you give it a little 'chimney' right here. Then all the heat is focused here you need it."

![]() |

Cenae watches Dimple expertly array the blocks, "Well, my apologies miss. I thought you were a pacifist but that ice monster doesn't stand a chance!"
I'm Back!

![]() |

Dimple freezes mid-piling. Her head slowly turns toward that ice wall. "She's kiddin', right? Yer not alive or nuthin', are you? Because now would be a real good time to say somethin'." She waits a moment or two, staring at the wall, before continuing to play with the clay.

GM Zin |

Dimple's exceptional insight allows you to arrange the blackfire clay in such a way that it melts an opening in the ice wall in little more than an hour. Merisiel is probably relieved at this, as she's able to stay close to the fire and avoid the worst of the cold outside. No Fortitude save necessary.
As you begin looking into the opening, a figure emerges from a nearby snowback. "Uliyara!" it yells, grabbing your attention. Turning to get a look, you see that it's the imposing figure of a large winter wolf! "Baroness Urgalaena calls for you; you will come with me now."
The wolf's eyes are on Haltani as he says this, and she looks shocked and not just a little unnerved. The wolf lets his gaze go to each of you in turn as he continues. "This little ice queen isn't what she says she is. This is Baroness Nadya's daughter, trying to fool and manipulate you for her own ends. And she owes Saarbotten for her misdeeds. I am Rigrory, and I represent Baroness Ugalaena; I've come to collect her. Surrender her to me or I'll call down the entire pack to destroy you!"
Knowledge (arcana) to identify

![]() |

Knowledge: Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Cenae slips her shield on and turns at the sound of the voice, her own hackles raising at the sight of the large wolf. She turns to Haltani, "Is this true? If so, what ends do you have in mind for us?"
Her mind races, This is quite odd. If the Baroness did not wish Haltani to be here, why did she allow us to leave Dalun with her?

GM Zin |

This is quite odd. If the Baroness did not wish Haltani to be here, why did she allow us to leave Dalun with her?
The names of two different Baroness' have been mentioned by Rigrory.
Cenae doesn't detect any deception in the wolf's words.

![]() |

A pack?!?! The bard looks around the wasteland for more wolves.

"Wait, you can talk? That's so cool. Can you read too? How many languages do you speak? Is there like a wolf school you have to attend? Hold on...are you related to Shelyn? Isn't her dad a wolf? Are you guys siblings, or pack mates...packlings? I have so many questions. Let me make a list." Dimple begins to pat herself down looking for paper and ink.

![]() |

We are here with our guide under the express permission of baroness Nadia. And you are saying we should just hand over our guide to you acting on behalf of another baroness. I do not think that will impress baroness Nadia much. Especially if she is as you say her daughter

GM Zin |

Dimple can't see any sign of other wolves around, but knows that white wolves in this environment could be incredibly hard to see.
Haltani... changes. The dark-skinned Varki guide shimmers, and the woman you've been travelling with for weeks now is no longer there. In her place stands a taller, fair-skinned and flaxen-haired woman. She is dressed in incredibly fine, almost regal gear. "I apologize for my deception; please, don't turn me over to him. I am Uliyara, as he says. Baroness Ugalaena rules Saarbotten; she is of the old guard that opposes what we are trying to do in Dalun. She wishes to Irrisen to stay closed, and to not expand relations with the outside world." She turns on the wolf with fury. "We hope for a better future for all of Irrisen, and your meddling won't work!"
The wolf snarls back. "I care not for your blather. I've been sent to bring you to my master, and bring you to my master I will." Rigrory fixes the Pathfinders in his gaze. "Now stand aside or feel my wrath!"

![]() |

I dislike the deception He glowers at Haltani/Uliyara but then looks to Cenae and Dimple But the fact reamins we are on Baroness Nadias land with her Daughter and returning to Dalun without her seems a poor plan to me

![]() |

So... I wrote up a really mean post which is sorta how Cenae feels at the moment, but I also think it's quite a bit over the top (and likely not 100% accurate to what has actually happened). But if anyone wants to take a look I'll leave it in a spoiler. Her actual response is down below.
She turns to Haltani, "I personally feel that we shouldn't send you off in this obvious bad situation, but it's up to Dimple here to determine our course of action. My and other's votes don't tend to matter on this issue."
_____________________________
The dark skinned human looks upon the scene with significant displeasure, "Listen here, buddy boy. I'm no fan of deception, but it isn't the first time we've dealt with it and we can handle our own issues. So, I'd suggest strongly that you head back the way you came and leave us be."

The wolf crouches low to the ground, his torso expanding as he fills his lungs before he lets out a blast of bitter cold! A supernaturally cold blast drives deep into Dimple, Arboreal, and Cenae's bones, shards of frozen spittle biting into any exposed flesh. Rigrory then steps closer to Uliyara.

A net is used to entangle enemies. When you throw a net, you make a ranged touch attack against your target. A net’s maximum range is 10 feet. If you hit, the target is entangled. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity, can move at only half speed, and cannot charge or run. If you control the trailing rope by succeeding at an opposed Strength check while holding it, the entangled creature can move only within the limits that the rope allows. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must succeed at a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell’s level or be unable to cast the spell.
An entangled creature can escape with a successful DC 20 Escape Artist check (a full-round action). The net has 5 hit points and can be burst with a successful DC 25 Strength check (also a full-round action). A net is useful only against creatures within one size category of you.
A net must be folded to be thrown effectively. The first time you throw your net in a fight, you make a normal ranged touch attack roll. After the net is unfolded, you take a –4 penalty on attack rolls with it. It takes 2 rounds for a proficient user to fold a net and twice that long for a nonproficient one to do so.
