Greta Gyllenhår |

Unless someone moved there after I posted, I should have been able to stand left of Benedic and above the flanked tiefling. We can keep moving though with your version.

GM Losonti |

Ah, yeah. Massielo was in that square when I got back into the thread.

Tristan de Lion |

The Inquisitor takes a 5' step to Flank with Massielo. Tristan swings at Red!
Melee +1 heavy Mace, bless, flank : 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 111d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

![]() |

Sorry Greta
Massielo swings at the cultist between himself and Tristan.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 7 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban slides forward, his attacks following Massielo's lead on attacking the foremost teifling, allowing room for anyone to engage the last one directly. As he advances he casts a spell, magical incantations pulsing through his blade and striking at the doomed demonspawn.
Spellcombat, longsword, power attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
longsword: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

The second causes a pair of wasps to emerge on the skin of the Teifling, as Caliban's arcane mark appears.

Selann Juris |

Finally reaching the top of the stairs Selann looks around for any of the enemy still standing. Bodies litter the floor but he does spot two enemy running and sends a splash of acid at the closest.
Acid Splash: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 4 = 19 -4 for cover
damage: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
precision damage if flanking applies?: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Fred Junior |

Junior gives Irabeth a grin as he guards this end of the hallway. He makes a shooing motion to Benedic to get in there.
delay unless Benedic wants me in there. I could open the nearby door...

Greta Gyllenhår |

Cut off from any positions effective for her attacks, Greta leaves the two remaining tieflings for the others to deal with and moves to where she'll be able to engage whatever's behind the eastern door. Once there, she closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath, then suddenly grows to a full six feet tall with thick, muscly arms.
moving and using my alter self sla

Greta Gyllenhår |

Not gonna bother killing those other 2 first, huh?

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan turns to watch Benedic actually open another door! The Inquisitor laughs!
And, I have wanted to do that since we fell down the well!
Tristan then yells at the open door.
Anyone else in there who wants their demon-licking toad-kissing slime-covered worms kicked!

Fred Junior |

Junior shrugs and bangs his warhammer against his shield and engages the enemy! "Waaaaaaaaagh!" Provoking from red for movement.
Warhammer vs black, alter self: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17
Bludgeoning, alter self: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10
After smashing something, probably a tiefling, he says sheepishly, "Opps forgot I was playing a hummie today."

GM Losonti |

Tristan snaps the trap shut on the closer of the tieflings, allowing Caliban and Massielo to finish the job of cutting him down. The sole survivor barely has time to realize he's all alone before a glob of acid from Selann hits him in the face. His scream of pain is cut off almost immediately by Junior's warhammer.
Greta takes up a position adjacent to the door as Benedic opens it, revealing four hulking figures holding scythes at the ready. Stacks of scrolls, books, maps, and more sit atop a large hexagonal table which they all stand around. The walls are painted with detailed maps of Sarkoris, over which features of the Worldwound have been painted.
Irabeth gives Benedic a nod, raises her sword, and shouts, "For Iomedae!" before charging into the room. The swing has more heart than technique to it, but it certainly makes an impression.
Irabeth vs Red: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Massielo
Tristan
Greta
Benedic

Everybody's up again!

Greta Gyllenhår |

on my phone, can someone please move my token for me?
BigGreta follows Irabeth into the room but takes a step to her right as soon as she enters. Then she swings her heavy hammer at the nearest tiefling (yellow).
hammer (as/bless): 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 1 = 18

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Moved Greta to where she should be (I think)
Caliban crosses to the doorway sizing up the chamber. Not seeing a clear way around the table and still wanting to make an impact he focuses a moment, before unleashing a torrent of water at the creature facing Irabeth (Red), attempting to drive it back from the paladin and perhaps crush it against the far wall....
Hydraulic Push, Bullrush: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
He calls out in Celestial, I've made some room to move in there, hurry!

Fred Junior |

Junior rushes into the room and hops up on the table. His blood is pumping and his spirits are high as he relishes smiting these cultists and demons. So much that he forgets to swing his hammer
double move

Benedic |

Benedic rushes into the room and swings his sword at one of the cultists.
Attack Red (Radiance), bless, bull's strength: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 19
Damage (slashing/good/cold iron), bull's strength: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan races in after Junior. He seems a bit disappointed that he got to the table first; but, then the Inquisitor shrugs putting himself in the corner.
Wreck'em Ralph!
Double Move!

Selann Juris |

Shrugging at the pace of the group, Selann follows into the room. He is slightly surprised when Greta grows, but considering the power she's been putting behind her weapon....
He spots an enemy across the room and sends a splash of acid at it.
Acid Splash on Green?: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 6 - 4 = 16

Precision Damage if flat footed?: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Sinesia walks in ready to shoot her bow. Meanwhile, Massielo also walks in and casts a spell on one of the enemies.
Double move for Sinesia. For Massielo it's a double move and a Cause Fear on yellow. DC 15

GM Losonti |

Tristan, Red was pushed into that square before you moved in, so I moved you to the square immediately in front. Benedic, for the same reason I moved you so you could swing at Green.
Yellow Will: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Duration: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The cultists are like castles of sand before the party's raging power. The first of the cultists clings to life after a blow from Greta's longhammer, before Massielo's magic amplifies his terror beyond all reason and the man simply flees to cower in the corner. Provoking from Greta
Junior's leap onto the table shocks the other cultists into inaction, which Benedic and Selann both take advantage of, sending another cultist to the floor in a burning and bleeding heap.
Irabeth longsword vs Blue: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Slashing: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Seeing that Benedic and Tristan have their foe well in hand, Irabeth circles around to the remaining cultist, delivering a solid slash from her longsword. He retreats a step, using infernal magics to knit the wound closed.
The foe is not as contained as he seemed, however, and delivers a powerful slash from his scythe, flying into an almost single-minded rage. 8 damage

I can’t get the map to load on my phone right now but I’ll post my actual turn next time I’m on my computer.

Who'd he attack? Is it our turn? I'll assume yes.
Massielo approaches the enemy engaging Irabeth and swings his morningstar at him. Meanwhile, Sinesia shoots an arrow at the one in the far end.
Attack yellos. Sinesia attacks blue. They're human right? Sinesia has fav enemy.

Greta Gyllenhår |

I think I killed yellow with my AoO, right? If so, I'm going to move into it's space and attack blue, if not I'll move where I moved my token and try to finish yellow.
longhammer vs someone? (as/bless): 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 = 31

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan begins to steps toward Blue. The Inquisitor then watches an arrow pierce his eye, then Greta's hammer bring him down a few notches; like 37 notches!
Not seeing anything left, except an arrow stuck in an eye lying on the floor; Tristan winks at Red.
Looks like you had the longest straw, huh?
Melee +1 heavy Mace, bless : 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 = 231d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Not to be completely outdone by Grets, Junior slids forward across the table and does his best Gallagher impression.

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban prepares to surge into the room after his spell took effect, but seeing the carnage wrought by his companions, decides instead to survey the surrounding area for other threats.
The elf glances up and down the hallway, and signals to their ranger allies that everything was under control! Where is this thing we seek? How many cultists take refuge in this place? he wonders to himself.

GM Losonti |

He attacked Benedic. I could've sworn I wrote it in there, but I clearly did not! Also, that's a lot of nat 20s! 4 from y'all on this page alone!
The three cultists stand no better chance than the tieflings before them. With two brutal swings, Greta removes two of the cultists from the battle, while the other falls to a perfectly aimed arrow from Sinesia.
Combat over!
4 masterwork chain shirts
4 daggers
4 unholy symbols of Deskari
4 potions of cure light wounds
4 scrolls of cause fear
4 scrolls of comprehend languages
4 doses of unholy water
While they were scattered by the sudden violence visited upon the room, it becomes clear that the cultists were studying a veritable treasure trove of captured intelligence. Recovering the documents (and killing the cultists before they could report what they found) is sure to be a boon for the war effort.
Anyone searching through the documents may make a Perception check.

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan kicks some dead and bleeding out cultists, as he ventures over to their Table O' Spoils!
Now, that may be worth a look.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19

Fred Junior |

Junior gathers the potions and scrolls and stuffs them into a bag. "No I'm not hauling the weapons," he says to his coin. He sees Tristan trying to pull a paper underneath his foot and asks, "Whad'ya find?"
Perception, aid: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Greta Gyllenhår |

Greta joins in quickly rifling through the pages.
perception (aid): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Selann Juris |

Selann moves in to help check over the documents, hopefully not too badly splattered with blood....
Perception (how many can aid?): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

![]() |

So, someone took 8 damage. Who was it?

Caliban Tre'Athkar |

Caliban sets to looting the cultists, with particular attention to the healing potions, divine scrolls, and anything else of use.
Looking at the table, he sees his companions effectively scanning through the documents, and decides an extra set of hands would not be helpful, offering the scrolls to Massielo and Benedic, he says, These may be most useful in your hands in the coming minutes.

![]() |

You heal for 5 from my life link.
Massielo takes the scrolls of Cause Fear and one of the Comprehend Languages one.

GM Losonti |

Since Aid Another is a circumstance bonus (which stacks with itself), there's generally no limit to how many people can pitch in, as long as it's plausible. The group of you looking through a pile of documents certainly makes sense to me.
A quick but thorough search of the documents reveals something that clearly doesn't belong: a scroll of restoration, tucked in between a quartermaster's inventory and a map showing recent changes to the topology of the Worldwound.

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan grins, handing the scroll to Massielo.
Jackpot! Now, one of us can get drained!
He points at Junior.

Greta Gyllenhår |

"No intelligence that's helpful right now, though," BigGreta comments as she stuffs the rest of the papers hastily into her bag. "We should keep moving."
Looking back into the hallway she reasons, "we're north of the stairs right now, but we never went north of the stairs downstairs... so, we left a whole section of the first floor unexplored. Should we go back down there and clear it, or trust our friends from Neathholm to handle anything that might come out of there before we're done up here?"

![]() |

Massielo puts the scroll away and replies to Greta "We're here to do a job, and it is to stop the demons from.... well, whatever it is they intend to do with the wardstone. We should move on."

Fred Junior |

Junior adds, "The cultists probably hid their treasures below too. I think B team can probably handle anything that comes up from behind. I'm fine clearing everyone out before we head to the top. Yes it's at the top because demons are dramatical. But it will take a looong time to search every corner of the place, so gonna say forward."
Junior moves towards the nearby door and tries the handle, "What's behind door number 2?"

Selann Juris |

"We've gotta find the wardstone. It's going to be wherever the defenses are strongest, right?"

Tristan de Lion |

Tristan follows Junior to the next door. The Inquisitor checking it for traps; prior to inviting the Skald to open it.
He cast Guidance.
Perception: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 1 = 27
They will be fine down there. Strider has orders to run like a...err...well...to run up here screaming, if any trouble shows up.
The Inquisitor grins at Greta.

GM Losonti |

The door opens easily into a small barracks, where six cots sit in two orderly rows. The bedding has been tossed on the ground, and an iron lockbox lies on its side, empty. A lidless box holds scraps of moldering food, while a pair of large barrels nearby look to be filled with water.

![]() |

Massielo steps inside and asks "Anyone here? We're with the good guys." After waiting for an answer for a while, he steps back outside and suggests they move on.
