Reread dwarf Darkvision so will swap Light cantrip and put continual flame on a torch.

Add a healer’s kit, herbalism kit, Smith’s tools and masons tools, and pocket coins. He’d be loaded. Interestingly, there are no miners tools, but the description of masons tools appears to do similar.

Maybe some potions of healing too. He can channel to make the ingredients and brew with the herbalism kit at half cost.

For various reasons Coronus has decided that he would like to retire this character, and start a new one. As we are still not out of 3rd level yet that is allowed. The new character will be joining the crowd shortly... probably.

That said if anyone else would like to change, or make new characters now is the time. I've got kind of a hard-fast rule of no major changes after level 3. If you decide to change after that you end up starting at level 3 regardless of the APL.

Also, you guys need to decide who is carrying the three potions of heroism, and the three cure wounds potions. Mark on your character sheets that you carry the brand of the Centaur Tribe "The Thundering Moon". Any other items you've picked up, like the hammer to be repaired etc. should also be listed.

Thanks for the clarification Supreme Being. As the new guy who's just joined, is a sorcerer on top of a wizard too much? We have, as far as I can tell, one fighter, one cleric, one wizard, and one rogue, which leaves Deimus, the Vanished One, as the fifth wheel, so lots of opportunities to step on another player's toes ;)

Let me know if you have strong feelings either way. I wouldn't want to review the character, but I'm happy to review the mechanics under the hood if we feel it worthwhile. The obvious mechanical changes are warlock or bard, but these wouldn't really solve the (potential) issue, as far as I can tell.


I'll add Aris' path as soon as I get to my computer.

What is Aristeides' specialization? Perhaps the simplest is for Deimus to complement him.


Specialization? What do you mean, School? None, Thylea's Academy has... weird bonuses.

Actually, I'm not that happy with the wizard as it is. Is the Academy the only possible way of being a Wizard in Thylea, or are other paths possible? I might rearrange the character depending on it, either keeping the Wizard but changing the "archetype" or going a different route. Or maybe it's just that I still didn't get to the saucy levels, honestly, idk.

Sorry, yes, I meant tradition, but I was only thinking in terms of schools of specialization and forgetting the other traditions.

All wizard paths are open. That one is just specific to Thylea.


Then I'll have a look at them and try to stay Wizard, see if I find something a bit more appealing than the philosophic paths. I'll assume Aris went to the academy, but since he didn't last for long, he developed his own path.


I'll stay Wizard, just change the archetype to Bladesinger. Easy to explain, as Aris has been exposed to a bunch of combat, how he ends up being that self-taught mix of martial/spellcaster.

So no school specialization. Since I'm a wizard and you're a sorcerer, I think you should get the spells you want for your strategy; I can write new spells in my spellbook if we end up being too much alike.

I am assuming that Deimus or Aristeides has a torch or some magical light shenanigans?

EDIT: I suggest that Lysander, Mateo, and one of the wizards have the potions of healing. I think we split the potions of Heroism between Lysander and Mateo, two for the former and one for the latter? What do you guys think?

I also have an idea for a new character but they'll only come into play if Mateo should die. I love my half-elf too much to just let him go.

So Question. With only two of the remaining original players still here... (Assuming Lysander is out for a while), do we want to continue. I feel that I've lost a lot of momentum with the player loss, and changes. The backgrounds of the characters and their role in the outcome of the story is VERY important in this adventure, and I've kind of lost focus on everyone's goals / motivations.

If you guys want to continue, I'll give it another shot, but we'll probably have to recruit a replacement for Lysander if he's going to be out for a while.

I absolutely agree with Jubal/Nikos. Plus I'm a newcomer. Plus I'm happy to play something that gets the DM thrilled. That's more important and, as Jubal says, it makes all the difference.

I am in agreement as well; a DM's enjoyment is the the main driver of everyone's fun in a game. If you're not having fun or feeling as motivated, it is definitely okay to take a break or put a game on the shelf.

If you want to continue, I would love to continue Mateo and our story. If not, I totally understand and no hard feelings <3


I'm fine to give it a go, I just thought this time of the year was taking its toll on everyone's free time (it's certainly talking it on mine). But you are the one making the biggest effort as a GM, so you're the one who must me in the mood.

Hi All. Thanks for the continued interest. I'm thinking Midgard might be the way to go. Instead of trying to run a long campaign, thinking about a series of normally unrelated... but I'll find a way to relate them... stand alone adventures. That way if we get fatigued, or need a break we can have more defined "Closure" and "New Adventure" points. This is the way I started with AD&D ages ago, just a series of adventures instead of an over arcing campaign.

Thoughts? If interested I'll put up a new recruiting thread, and maybe try to get another player or two, and give us a place to discuss characters etc. If you guys have anyone you'd like to join that might be interested in this game let me know, and we can recruit that way (Closed Recruitment)

That sounds like a perfect plan. There's a lot of smaller adventures for Midgard, and some of them are considered to be quite excellent, as far as the reviews go. Looking forward to it!

If I could get a heads up on the area or the theme, it would be great, as I find coming up with good concepts takes me a lot of time.

Plan on starting out in Zobeck, but travel might take us all over the world. Mix of overland travel and dungeon crawling... with a bit of City adventure mixed in.

As the gang comes together I'll plan the future adventures to take advantage of the make-up of the group.

I agree with the short adventures for Midgard. Even the longer campaigns are easy to pull sections out of for adventuring.

I'll start up a recruiting thread as a closed recruitment for now, but if we can't come up with a couple of personal invites I'll open it up later. Give us a place for a discussion thread, and to allow me to plan the campaign around the characters and what they want to do.

Not necessarily. Reading the patron rules and The new Tasha’s book you just kind of do missions for them it might make it easier however if you’re playing a divine character. Also, she’s a saint not a god so probably wouldn’t actually worship her just pay homage.
