And Discussion is open!
Waiting for the last two players to post in Gameplay and I will move us along.

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

The PCs can pool any extra Gold together and buy items that may be useful like alchemical items and the like. Consider that you are a cohesive unit even if you are not supposed to necessarily act like it on this trip, at least not at first.

Neziana Fentel |

We have several people without food. If we can't easily resupply at the colony, that might make things difficult. We also have no ways to deal with swarms, which are probably going to show up at some point. I'm strongly considering to downgrade either my sword or my armor to pick up several acid flasks and/or alchemist fire. Unless someone got money to spare?

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

Waiting for 1 more PC to check in. If he does not by tonight I will move the game forward anyway.

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

Links to the Pathfinder Society Base Classes are now linked in the Campaign. The House Rules for Hero Points are also re-copied. Finally, the Pathfinder Society Scion Traits are also in the Campaign Info tab but are too long so I could not include them in the Short Description window.
I will give the group collectively until April 25th (2020) to decide if you all wish to pool together resources to buy rations, alchemical items, and anything else you can purchase collectively. After that, I will assume what you have on your sheets is all you came with!

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

Folks, on April 27 I am moving, I will likely not be back online until April 29 or 30. Just a heads up.

Neziana Fentel |

We don't have a lot of healing compared to the size of the team. Getting a wand of cure light wounds might be very useful. Not sure if we can afford a full one though. Can we buy a partially charged want Shadow?

Makanaky |

The problem I see with this is... how do we justify having shared equipment to begin with, specifically since we weren't to expect such a tragedy?
If we can answer this dilemma, I'm okay with that, though honestly I don't have much to share (I can't downgrade my equipment because it wasn't bought, just assigned).

Neziana Fentel |

It's easily justifiable by us having gotten different equipment to prepare for the journey or having gotten it as common item(s) from either the pathfinders or right now as supplies from the expedition leader.
What do you mean that you've just gotten equipment assigned instead of bought? We got max gold for our non-pathfinder class in addition to the gear from the pathfinder trait.

Lalali-Re |

There's a lot of classes at work here i don't really know.
Seems like there are only 3 original Paizo classes? Rogue, warpriest and archeologist bard?
Hence i have the impression we don't have a lot of magics at all.
I might take master craftsman and craft something later, although per rules i could not craft wands that way and i have an archetype where i can use wands really good over sleight of hands later on.
The archeologist bard and me - the rogue - seem to have some overlap as well, so maybe we want to coordinate things there a bit.
I'll also be getting minor and major magic rogue talents at some point for utility.
With the infamous rich parents trait someone could buy a wand right from the start i guess, which could make a lot of sense.
Cooperation is easily justifiable, especially in Andor.
Gear from the Pathfinder trait is the wayfinder?
If the non-Paizo classes could give a short description what they actually do, that would be nice.
I know warder i.e. has those maneuvers and is a more defensive melee character, right?

Neziana Fentel |

Warder is a path of war initiator class. Maneuvers are basically like spells that work on an encounter basis. They are divided in 4 groups. Stances are passive effects, for example my current stance gives +2 AC and +2 Will while twfing. Strikes are some kind of attacks, I have one that gives me two attacks at full bab and another that gives an ally an AoO. Boosts are buffs or utility swift actions, I have one that gives +2 attack/damage to everyone and another that allows me to jump. Counters are immediate actions to block or otherwise stop enemies. Sadly I don't have any of those yet, but in a few levels I'll be able to demoralize enemies into missing my allies. Warder has several abilities focusing on protecting it's allies, though it's still quite capable offensively. At this level I have Aegis which gives allies (not self) +1 AC and Will if they are within 10 feet of me. Next level I can mark enemies I damage to give them -2 penalty on attacks vs others.
My other side is a Savant Wizard, which is basically a wizard progressing one level behind without a school. I can certainly pick up crafting if we will have time to do it. For casting we got two savants (wizard and cleric), bard and warpriest. There's also a druid that hasn't checked in yet.
We get the wayfinder with all the slotted ioun stones from the trait, though there is no resonance.

You can buy wands and healing products at cost, assume the Society would have offered them at that rate prior to heading to Almas.

Neziana Fentel |

Meaning we can buy a wand of cure light wounds for 375 GP?

I'd say yes as the Society would have expected that there would be [/i]some[/i] trouble on this Expedition.

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

I sent the Druid a PM to check in I/C. If he does not appear, I might toss the group an extra wand for free as I was expecting that 7th character to be able to heal a bit considering the class selection.

Vigny Olafursdottir |

Sorry folks, I've been really busy and since no notification showed (since I'd never been into the thread, duh) I hadn't thought to check into the discussion thread.
I'm just a little behind on dealing with gear. I have the items but haven't tallied my remaining money yet. I expect there will be some left over so I can help with a CLW wand and some alchemical weapons.
The wand especially would be a good buy. Spells per day are tight for warpriests and they really need their buffs. Channeling comes along later, but it's a terrible deal for warpriests so Vigny will only use it as a last resort.

Neziana Fentel |

Great news about the explosives. That'll help a lot. I think we should all get some more splash weapons to help you out in that regard though. With these prices a wand of clw and a paladin wand of lesser restoration (if that's available) would be great to have. If I downgrade my weapon and armor I'll have 195-200 gp to pool together for healing and\or splash weapons. Having a cold iron weapon and +1 climb\acro\swim would be nice though. How much can the rest of you spare?
@shadow: What caster level is a level 2 savant? 1 or 2?

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

@shadow: What caster level is a level 2 savant? 1 or 2?
Caster Level 1.

Jereru |

What do you mean that you've just gotten equipment assigned instead of bought? We got max gold for our non-pathfinder class in addition to the gear from the pathfinder trait.
Conscript gives you two options for equipment:
a)1d6x10 gp (meaning 60 gp in this case)
b)One piece of armor, one weapon (I chose a shield) and 15 gp
I chose option b.
Conscript, for those who don't know about Spheres of Might, is the Fighter of the Spheres: many feats, many talents, so you can customise its battle capabilities (but Spheres characters are way more flexible than normal characters)

Neziana Fentel |

I think you posted with the wrong alias?
Seems kinda odd you could potentially start with full plate. Though I guess in your case getting either a masterwork studded leather or chain shirt wouldn't be too unbalancing, it's the same armor Neziana is using... Either way, it makes sense you don't have much spare gold for other items.

Neziana Fentel |

We get all the Ioun stones listed there yes. They are slotted into our unique wayfinders.
@Lalali-Re: Do you have any spare gold you're willing to spend on wands and/or alchemical items? Getting the wands for half price is a super good bargain.

DM Decemvirate's Emissary |

Wait a moment, do we get all the boni listed in the traits wayfinder section?
If you mean do you get the Pathfinder Society Scion Trait and the accompanying Bonuses as well as the Ioun Stone inserted into your Wayfinder then the answer is yes.

Lalali-Re |

Mh. So i get this:
Jatambe’s Wayfinder: Scarlet and Blue Sphere (Ioun Stone) - '+2 Int & +3 Know HX, Clear Spindle (Ioun Stone) - No food or water, Pink Rhomboid (Ioun Stone) - '+2 Con.?
And the bonuses from the Ioun Stones?
What does knowledge HX mean anyway?
I'm willing to spend some money, yes! Rich parents!

Caiden Valsin |

I don't really have any money left over, although that's why I asked for food from the leader. Given that we were on a ship for weeks, there's a not-unlikely chance that food would have been gotten into by rats or possibly spoiled, so I didn't bother purchasing any.
Alas, my parent is a smith, which is why I have the gear that I have.

Neziana Fentel |

You can look up the rules of the stones yourself on the various srds. The int stones gives a skill point per level to the same skill every level and I'm guessing it has to be a knowledge skill.

Neziana Fentel |

@Lalali-Re: You have two wands listed on your sheet already. Is that correct? Did you buy the CLW wand for half price? If we already bought a CLW wand, I would prefer to buy a paladin-wand of lesser restoration since it'll only cost 375 and I doubt we'll ever be able to acquire a wand like that for anywhere near that price on the island.
With 51 gold from Vigny, 19 gold from Darvan, 195 gold from me and and 220 gold from Lalali-Re we'll be able to afford a wand of Lesser Restoration (or another CLW if Lalali-Re's wand isn't enough?) and 11 flasks of Acid. That's nearly 2 per person, which should help quite a bit against any swarms we might encounter.
I guess I'll downgrade my armor to studded leather and change out my weapons for a normal estoc and a cold iron cestus.

Makanaky |

Yep, wrong alias xD
And yep, I could have chosen full plate. But I'm just that reasonable xD Plus, SS could have just vetoed it.
My plan is to go with no armor once I get the talent, anyway. Probably go naked, so I'm invisible.

Lalali-Re wrote:What does knowledge HX mean anyway?Knowledge History.
Wait, so the Ioun stone gives +3 Knowledge history instead of one skill rank that it normally gives, or is it instead of? My Ioun stone has the same effect after all...

Storyteller Shadow wrote:Wait, so the Ioun stone gives +3 Knowledge history instead of one skill rank that it normally gives, or is it instead of? My Ioun stone has the same effect after all...Lalali-Re wrote:What does knowledge HX mean anyway?Knowledge History.
Correct +3. When I designed these special items I knew that the only magic items the group would have for some time were the Wayfinders so I wanted to make sure PCs had a little something extra to start with.

Neziana Fentel |

Sorry for phrasing my question badly. I did not understand what you meant by your answer. Is the +3 knowledge history instead of the normal skill rank?

Correct, the +3 Knowledge History instead of the normal skill rank.

Neziana Fentel |

That's actually a bit weaker since it'll be one less skill that's trained, but I have plenty of skills regardless, so we should be fine. I'll adjust my sheet to account for it.

Lalali-Re |

Mh nice, my kn:history is then +11.
I'm really fine with the wayfinders. Cool items after all!
With the rich parents trait i can buy those wands.
Thought endure elements would come in handy as well.
We need someone to operate them other than me over the first few levels though, since i can't do it reliably - yet.
Why so insistent on the splash attacks?
I could trade evasion for another archetype, which gives me a bonus on craft alchemy and lets me deal sneak attack + INT mod with splash weapons. I doubt that splash weapons are effective underwater though, hence i question this a bit.
A wand of a modified burning hands (turned into another element) or a similar spell might be more effective perhaps.

Neziana Fentel |

Because swarms can be a pain to deal with for a lot of classes and it makes a lot of thematic sense for them to pop up at some point. A lot of swarms are resistant or even immune to normal weapons. The equipment needed to deal with them are rather cheap and you can get it from the start, but if you don't get it, you could end up with a big problem. I don't think you need to change archetypes to deal with them at all. None of us except Gnarok got any way to affect things immune to weapons.

Neziana Fentel |

A wand of burning hands cost 15 GP per charge for 1d4 damage (reflex 11 for half). That's more expensive than acid flasks(10GP for 1d6) or alchemists fire(20GP for 2d6, reflex 15 for half), not to mention that you can't buy it in smaller increments.
I'm not sure how relevant endure elements will be for this campaign, we're neither in a desert nor frozen wastes, though of course I don't know what we face. A wand of Touch of the Sea sounds quite interesting to me if we have healing covered, though Lalali-Re already has a swim speed, so that might not make sense for her to have... That's certainly one of the first spells I'm learning once we get to level 2.
@Lalali-Re: How much gold do you need for us to get a wand of lesser restoration (cl 1 as paladin spell), clw and endure elements (1500 GP total).

Neziana Fentel |

Our warpriest gets that spell in 3 levels yeah (as does the cleric savant)... But it's a while until then and I'm sure they would like to be able to use spells for other things. Getting a wand of lesser restoration for 375 GP is a super good bargain (it's 4500 to buy one crafted from a cleric). I doubt there are any paladins helping with crafting on the island while there surely were some back in absalom so it makes perfect sense for us to be able to get such a wand.

Makanaky |

That's actually a bit weaker since it'll be one less skill that's trained, but I have plenty of skills regardless, so we should be fine. I'll adjust my sheet to account for it.
You also get +2 Int and +2 Con.

I'm not complaining about the bonuses at all. They're massive and awesome for the level we are at... I'm simply commenting on the statement that the change is a buff.

Neziana Fentel |

So what do the rest of you think? Am I paranoid for wanting to buy acid flasks and/or alchemist fire? If we buy 12 acid flasks, that's 2 per person (except Gnarok). I would like to finalize purchases as soon as possible. My suggestion is that in addition to the 2 wands Lalali-Re already have gotten we get:
A wand of lesser restoration (375 GP)
12 acid flasks (120 GP)
Paid for by: 51 Vigny, 19 Darvan 195 me and 230 Lalali-Re
