House Rules for Hero Points:

1) One permanent Hero Point may be used to avoid a final death scenario allowing a narrow cinematic escape,

2) One temporary Hero Point may be used if you are between -1 and -9 hit points to stabilize yourself to prevent further blood loss,

3) Temporary Hero Points may be expended to power Feats. These grant a lasting bonus for a one scene or one round duration depending on the feat description,

4) One temporary Hero Point grants a character a chance to supplement their d20 roll by 1d6 and add the result (whatever it was - no re-roll) to the d20 result,

Progression system:
Level 1-10 1d6,
Level 11-20 2d6,
Level 21-?? 3d6. and

5) No more than one Hero Point may be expended per round.

Optional rules mostly in the form of New Feats for Hero Points:

Arcane Surge (Prerequisites - Arcane Class) (Allows wielder to increase a spell DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point),

Attune Item (Prerequisites - A Weapon of Legacy) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +3 to attack and damage for the scene with chosen item),

Defensive Ward (Prerequisites - Dodge) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to give yourself a +3 Luck bonus to AC for the scene),

Divine Surge (Prerequisites - Divine Class) (Allows wielder to increase a spell DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point),

Heroic Feat (Prerequisites - None) (Any saving throw successfully made 10 points above an effects DC automatically allows the character to regain 1 used Hero Point),

Heroic Grace (Prerequisite - None) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +1 to all saving throws or +3 to one saving throw for one scene),

Heroic Quickness (Prerequisites - Improved Initiative) (Allows wielder to expend one hero point to add +3 to Initiative checks),

Manifesting Surge (Prerequisites - Psionic Class) (Allows wielder to increase a powers save DC by 3 for 1 round by expending a Hero Point).

Grym blows some more smoke out as he talks actually I came off the ship as a stow away and saw you guys running around and thought "hey Grym there goes a bunch of enterprising folk looking for some things and hey I am looking for things, why not try and go with them?"

Grym, you open the door and see the spectral body of some undead thing!

Make a Will Save DC 14 or be Frightened for 1d4 ⇒ 4 Rounds.

"Rayland Arkley! He was my friend!" the figure screeches once more.

"Who am I? I am I am... I'm Silas. Silas Weatherbee.

Everyone began acting. Strange. Out of character for what I knew of them. So I sought out Rayland, he was my best friend in the Colony and then he... he stabbed me. Twice. But I got away".

He'd like to ask the apparition more things, like where are the others, what happened that made all act strange, and else, but he decides to stay silent. Too many talking at a time might piss off the ghost, and no one wants that.

Oh no Silas Weatherbee! Why did Rayland Arkley do it? Betray you like that? Was he mad? Or maybe sick? What happened to the other people in the village? And what happened to you after you got away? How did you die?

Lalali, still dry heaving and leaning on the doorframe, seems to be too sickened to be really bothered by the ghost.
She might not really have realized what's going on in the room, still a bit bend over facing the floor, in case she hasn't finished emptying her stomach yet.

"Surely the poltergeist in there is the thing that scared away in the village. Even I couldn't stand to be near it. It's terrifying. Still, it would be good to try to put it to rest rather than antagonizing it further by attacking it. Someone have to get the body out and give it a proper burial. But I'm not going back there." Neziana says as she looks back at the chapel with trepidation, ready to bolt if she sees the poltergeist coming out.

As Mak moves towards the body of Silas, the spirit of Silas swoops towards him, objects swirling in the room, "What are you doing!"

I will assume that everyone has overcome their fright at this time and heads back to the Church to witness Mak being directly confronted.

The poltergeist grimaces as he watches his body being moved, "Alright.

I want to know why and what.

Find out. Tell me or I will.. I will.. I will be back!"

The spirits body expands and in a flash of light is gone, the items swirling about the room all drop to the floor with smaller and larger thuds.

Your new companion Grym finds what appears to be a suitable place to bury Silas. However, as you dig, you find another corpse...

"This must be one of the first victims" Mak comments on the new found corpse, "from where they still had time and people to properly bury the dead." Of course is only a hypothesis, but I've that should calm those who might freak out about it.

Neziana does what she can to help, but she's more about speed rather than raw strength. "This could just be someone who died in an isolated incident, but somehow I kinda doubt it. It would be nice to figure out what killed them or who they were. " She leans down to examine the body more closely.

Lalali and Neziana inspect the corpse, it appears to be shriveled as if all of the liquid was drained from its body. The body was that of a human male.

Farther into the jungle to the east there are a handful of other graves, each corpse, was slain in this same fashion. That accounts for now four of the colonists, three slain in this horrific manner and Sylas, stabbed by whoever Rayland Arkley was or perhaps, is.

Do you want to remain together to explore further areas of the settlement or break apart once more?
