Interesting. The refresh button actually did reveal... things there that I'd never noticed before. It appears I have exactly one replay.
I would be willing to spend it here (thought I don't know how to mark it as "spent" -- is that part of reporting?).

They're trying to figure out a way of tracking it for PF2, but for PF1 it's basically just the honor system (though the GM should mark it on the chronicle)

Anyway, in case the GM didn't catch that: I am using my 1 replay for this scenario.

Hello all. This is an FYI that I will be in the wilderness and away from computers (and so unable to post) starting this Thursday morning (7/9) and returning Sunday evening (7/12), in US/Pacific time. Feel free to bot me as needed during that time.

Once we've had a go at our mundane arrangements, Ilathor has some consumables that may or may not prove useful:
Wand of Silent Image
Scroll of Grease
Scroll of Obscuring Mist
Scroll of Expeditious Excavation
Scroll of Arcane Lock
Scroll of Fog Cloud
Scroll of Stone Call
Scroll of Shatter
If anyone comes up with an idea for them (or any of his other consumables, take a peak!), let me know! I'm happy to share them, they're meant to be used! :)

I added comments on the GoogleSlides to include some of the gameplay information. If they are distracting, you don't like them, whatever, please feel free to delete them! Just thought it would help the planning!

I added a small red rectangle to the map. With the tea ceremony being held in room 3, I propose we turn the rectangle into a chokepoint. We use as many furniture barricades as we can to block off the windows, walls and stairs in this room. Ilathor can cast Arcane Lock on the door between rooms 2 and 3, as well as the door between room 3 and the unmarked room. Then they can only get to it through room 1, and down the stairs from the second floor (which conveniently empty out into room 1).
The old lava tube seems to be a wild card. Either we can escape through it, or foes could enter the house through it. Ilathor could Quick Study into an Alarm spell and cast it like 100ft down the shaft and get a mental alarm if someone comes down it, just to be safe.
Any thoughts on where to put the bear traps? I'm inclined to put them by our chokepoint since they don't actually stop someone from entering (just make it intensely painful!)
If an invasion occurs, Ilathor will probably hangout in room 5 to cast down into room 1.

My apologies. Work has been kicking my ass this past couple days. However, I have tomorrow off, so I should have the next post then.

Not only that, but I like the idea of *letting* them into room 1, making it much harder to get out, and dealing with them there, in a controlled manner.

GM Blue Moose |

Okay, I have to apologize again for how long this took. I started to wrap my head around one way to approach this part, only to continuously trip over my own ideas. After several nights of futilely trying to write that up, I finally gave in and took the approach I was trying to avoid.

GM, about how long did it take us to walk from the pier to the lighthouse? If I'm reading the map correctly, it is a little under two miles away under some roughish terrain?
Can we assume that we are using the stats for a light catapult on this page?

GM Blue Moose |

Two miles would be my estimate from the map as well. So I'd say that you all probably took about 40 minutes to get up to the lighthouse.
As for the catapult, I'm going to use the (simplified) rules that they give in the scenario.
-----
It takes 3 people 3 full-round actions to load and fire the catapult.
The 'to hit' roll for the catapult is BAB+Knowledge(Engineering) from 1 person, without any aids. A damage roll is unnecessary, as the effects of a hit something I take care of.

Oh, that's great! I like it when scenarios give rule modification options for things like siege weaponry :D Then we can still enjoy the inclusion without happening to have invested in something so obscure/unused as proficiency in freaking siege weapons! Especially so here, where it looks like the ability to assemble it is directly tied to the ability to use it!

![]() |

GM, how far can we see? Also, now that the moment has passed, would you be willing to share the mechanics for the catapult provided in the scenario? I'm curious :)

GM Blue Moose |

Anything past 50 feet counts as having concealment, and anything past 100 has total concealment.
You can use either the siege engine rules (Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Combat 158) or the simplified rules below to resolve attacks. To fire the catapult, the crew leader attempts a DC 19 targeting check (this DC includes the PCs’ –4 nonproficiency penalty). This check uses the leader’s base attack bonus, and either her Knowledge (engineering) skill modifier or her Intelligence modifier (if she’s not trained in Knowledge[engineering]). If the check succeeds, the stones hit the Golden League army, earning the PCs 1 Defense Point. The PCs are firing blind, but if they find some way of tracking their shots (perhaps via a light spell cast on the ammunition), give them a +2 bonus for each shot after the first. If the PCs fired practice shots earlier in the day, give them a +4 bonus on this check. Rolling a natural 20 while attempting this check instead earns the PCs 2 Defense Points.

Hello!
I'll be away from computers without the ability to post:
* from Friday 8/14
* returning Sunday evening (US/Pacific time) 8/16
Feel free to bot me during that time. I will likely catch up on returning Sunday evening.

Reminder on this. Keep lobbing bombs while they stand. Targeted bomb admixture has a few more rounds. Can probably copy the last dice expression a few times.
If it helps, he can switch to helping with healing after.

I've returned to work today! The first week back is always a doozy, apologies in advance if my posting is sub-par or I miss a day!

GM Blue Moose |

I'd like to note that the last two attacks missed solely because of Nylthe's Dazzling Display. And they were doozys too.

Nice job Nylthe! :D Which is also my way of saying thanks for saving Ilathor's hide ;)

Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I'm going to be away next weekend, the morning of Saturday, the 19th through sometime in the evening on the 20th (US/Pacific time). As per my typical practice I catch up and make posts the night of my return.
Hopefully it's barely or not at all noticeable since that is the weekend and I do like to catch up on the day I return.

That was the last combat for the scenario. I'll get the concluding post and the chronicles up tomorrow.

GM Blue Moose |

Okay, I had started on chronicle sheets, when I realized that I don't have Day Job checks from anyone. As such, can I get those?

![]() |

Day job (craft alchemy, create alchemical items): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 35

![]() |

day job, Alchemy: 1d20 + 11 + 5 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 + 5 + 2 + 2 = 40
Bonuses (cause I get myself lost in my bonuses list:)
Rank 5 Class skill, 17 Int: 5+3+3=11
Investigator level +5
Alchemical adept trait +2
Alchemical mastery Feat +2
Looks at Wilem's work and...

![]() |

No day job.

![]() |

No day job here!

![]() |

Thanks GM :) Skimmed the chronicle sheet, the Out of Subtier Gold seems low, isn't it the average between the two tiers (2293.5)?
Long day with Open House (parents meet the teachers, so we have to put on a bit of a dog and pony show) after school today, so no posts. Please bot as needed!

![]() |

Got it. Character updated.

GM Blue Moose |

Skimmed the chronicle sheet, the Out of Subtier Gold seems low, isn't it the average between the two tiers (2293.5)?
For Normal progression, yes. It's half that for slow progression.

![]() |

Thanks GM! The chronicle looks right. It doesn't look like there's a place to report my replay usage... so I have no idea how that works :)

![]() |

D'oh, that's right GM! Thank you :)

![]() |

We all got a bunch of replays a while back - do you have any to spare?
Day Job: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

![]() |

Probably you've got a bunch of replays since PF2 dropped - I'm guessing some of those should still be available.
They'd be in your Organized Play tab under GM/Event Coordinator.

GM Blue Moose |

Thanks, Nylthe. I think they gave everyone 10 replays when the switch happened. I think I'm still sitting on all of mine, as I used the survey boon for the one replay I did for this campaign. Would you want to use one of them, Lebraerio?

![]() |

I used one last time :) After that miss I got careful and re-reviewed the future scenario list. I just have to make sure to not absent-mindedly jump into one of them in the meantime.

![]() |

This doesn't help (sorry!) but it isn't where I found them before... so I don't know either. I thought they were where we can see our GM session stuff, but it isn't. Anyone have better luck?

![]() |

We seem to be pursuing two plans here. Are we burning the bushes or guiding him around? Ilathor is better suited to burning, but we seem to be making some good headway on the guiding already (so I'm included to keep trying to aid).
