The link to the slides is above. Please be sure to fill out the second page of the slides with your information.
Note: For now, please just put whether or not you have a day job. I'll call for the rolls as we're nearing the end of the scenario.
A few ground rules:
1. Please use discussion for discussing what to do, unless it's in smaller quantities. (For example, discussing whether to go to area A or area B should happen in discussion, but discussing whether or not a party member needs haste should probably happen ooc in gameplay).
2. Due to the nature of play by post, I expect a post every weekday from every player. I'll try to make time to update twice a day on weekdays, but I can only promise one consistently. You will be botted and rolled for even out of initiative if you do not post frequently. This may not always be in your best interest, but I try to stay fair with how I bot a character. I don’t know if you’re saving that fireball for the big bad final fight, though.
I also play 2-3 irl games through the weekend, so I cannot make any promises about posting through the weekend. I will do what I can.
3. When combat comes up, you will have approximately 24 hours from the time I post you're up to respond. If you take too long, I will likely bot your character. I have a specific Alias for "DA BOT" so you'll know if you or somebody else got botted without having to read too deeply into my posts.
4. I use block initiative in combat, and though enemies go in the order specified, players go in the order posted. If you wish to wait for something to happen (for example, for the bard to start the Inspire Courage that he always does [the drama queen!]) you must specify so in your post. If the event does not happen, we revert back to the initial rule.
5.Lastly, have fun!
When you've filled out the sheets above, please make a post introducing your character in the gameplay thread. Once I've seen all the posts, I'll begin the scenario when I'm able to.
Now, a bit about me: I’ve been GMing Pathfinder for over 3 years now, having started with the Beginner Box. I’ve grown all the way into an official, self-labelled min-maxer (though to some I go too far and must accept the title Munchkin). I work in a super lax Software Engineering job, and typically have time to post while I’m at work. I am currently involved in several long term play by post adventures, as well as several long term in person adventures. Needless to say, I’m knee deep in Pathfinder, and I ain’t turnin’ back any time soon.

Slides done. I'll need to check the online listing. I think most things should be correct but i've done some shopping since my last game so...
What is the time frame for these games to start?

GM XaveTheNerd |

Outpost is set to start at the end of the month (on the 30th, to be precise). Most games should finish up by the 18th of May.

Thank you for the info!
Arie is an interrupter. I'll be checking in often but sometimes work gets hectic or such so... I'll try to stay on top of it, especially in combat.

![]() |

Hey all, sorry to drop out at the last minute but I don't think I can commit fully to the adventure given my current situation. Good luck!

![]() |

Thanks for running G! My character is up to date besides possible purchases once we get briefed.

GM XaveTheNerd |

No problem!
I do have a question for everybody while we wait for the go ahead.
Do any of your characters do things outside the usual scope of a class (for example, I have a fighter that has Saving Shield and Bodyguard who intends to use them every possible opportunity she gets)? Any weird feats or abilities? If so, please state them here and I'll make a note of 'em.

![]() |

Only thing unusual about Grim is that he uses a large bastard sword. The -2 penalty is factored into his attacks though.

![]() |

Puurrupup is a medium who always chooses the Marshal spirit. It means that he can add 1d6+[his spirit bonus] to checks of his own or his allies (as long as they're within 30 feet) who participated in his seance after they've failed, to potentially turn them into successes.
It's not an action and he can do it off his turn, which might translate poorly to PbP, this will be my first time trying him in this format. My thinking is that in my post I will say something like:
Then should those triggers happen the first one will get the bonus (and I'll add an influence), otherwise I won't.
He also has an ability to give competence bonuses to attack and damage during combat, which overlaps with the traditional bard role, so perhaps he'll use his gun a bit more, I'm not sure!
He's an archetype called a fiend-keeper that can gather power to give himself various bonuses (including a fly speed), and his gunslinger level is mysterious stranger so he can spend grit to add his charisma bonus to damage, but with only one gunslinger level he's not that dangerous with the gun. He also doesn't have quick clear!

Hmm... Well, as mentioned Arie makes heavy use of interrupt spells and abilities so if anyone thinks they missed an attack or save or similar by just a hair, she may be able to interrupt and make it successful.

Hi, Just did the slides up. Nothing weird here. Standard U. monk with jabbing style and Dimension Door.

![]() |

Slide filled in
Sukit is a heavy AC frontliner. He makes use of advanced weapon and armor trainings to shore up standard fighter weak spots.
He finds that a sword is great at convincing people you mean what you say.
Weapon training to make Bluff and Diplomacy class skills plus use his BAB as his skill ranks for them.
He also specializes in the tower shield. He will enter into Mobile Bulwark Style at the start of every combat. The second feat Mobile Fortress allows him to "set the edge" as a move action and extends the total cover to an adjacent ally. He uses this to create choke points in narrow pathways, which can limit melee allies from approaching the front line of combat.

GM XaveTheNerd |

Freeing Khanuur will use at least one charge of the Greater Chime of Opening AND the Adamantine File. Not only is the collar made of Adamantine, but it's also Arcane Locked.

GM XaveTheNerd |

I actually hadn't prepped this route. This should be interesting.
Also: Antonaides, I need you to fill out the character information on the second slide, please. I find it easier to pull character information out of the slides than off of the discussion tab. Just a random quirk I've got, I guess.

Apologies. I've input my data.
Dayjob: Profession (Barrister)
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31

GM XaveTheNerd |

The sense motive check was to detect that he was going to git you out of there as soon as he was free, but that it wouldn't have the best of intent. He dropped you in a, let's just say, inopportune location.

GM XaveTheNerd |

Sorry about the delay. I was planning to set up the combat last night, but my parents called and stole my evening. I expect to put it up in my lunch break today.

![]() |

My vote is move through the room to the double doors.
As point of pride, that was a single swing. Falcatas are 19-20/x3 crit, plus Sukit has improved critical.

![]() |

Augmented Lemure (standard action to summon)
AC 14/10/14 hp 17 Darkvision 60
+4/+3/+0 DR5/good or silver Resist: acid 10, cold 10
Attacks: 2 claws +4 (1d4+2)
Immune: fire, mind fx, poison

![]() |

My vote is move through the room to the double doors.
I agree with this; if we keep moving forward rather than going back over ground we've already covered then anyone following sounds of combat might take a little longer to reach us?
That works until we reach a closet of course, but for now, onward!

![]() |

Fair point about the action economy, but I had healed myself once before for 3. Antonaides should be down 15 hp.
Are you factoring DR into the attacks on the lemures? They have 17 hp and DR 5. I'm not following the math that brought them down. In future when I summon stuff, I'll post the hp in the gameplay thread. Tough to stay on top of it in PbP!

GM XaveTheNerd |

I have been factoring the DR into the damage calculation, but thanks for pointing it out in case I was missing it.

GM XaveTheNerd |

Apologies for missing you on that last round, Kitajo. In my defense, none of my other PbP games right now have 6 players, so I thought I was good when I counted 5. I'll try to be more attentive from here on out.

![]() |

I am not worried. I am in Australia so some games I am massively out of sync due to time zones.

GM XaveTheNerd |

Looking back for a sec, I did not intend anything within gameplay in a rude manner. I realize they could be interpreted as such. I'm...not the best with wording.

GM XaveTheNerd |

Sorry to all on the delay. I've had a medical issue flare up, and we're still determining what the exact cause is. I was in quite a bit of pain yesterday, so I didn't worry about posting here. Thank you for understanding.

![]() |

Take whatever time you need GM.

![]() |

No worries. Stuff happens. I hope it ends up being something minor.
I do understand. I'm your typical guy who hates to go see the doctor but i had to go Tuesday. Cutting grass on Sunday afternoon, felt something fly out from under the mower and hit above my right ankle. By Sunday night it was red. by Monday night it was swelling. My girlfriend made me go Tuesday. :)
Something did fly out, get under my skin and cause an infection. Day 2 of antibiotics and it's looking better... but still pretty ugly.

Sorry all! I've had a busy day haggling with a landlord (in a good way) and securing a move to a dream townhouse in a great part of town! Unfortunately, it's left me with no time to get Play by Post done, as I need to finalize prep for an irl play game tomorrow. Sorry about the delay!

![]() |

No worries. You have a very busy life right now and I think you are doing a great job with us. Take care of yourself. That's the most important thing. We'll still be here.
plus, congrats on a dream home in a nice part of town! That can be hard to do...

GM XaveTheNerd |

Outpost will be ending Monday. I will be reporting based on how it looks to be going, but your are of course expected to continue playing until we're done. We're pretty close to the end, and we probably could have made it in time had I not had weird things come up these last few weeks. So, apologies on that front.
Also: it is time to roll for boons. Roll a d20. If you get a 19-20, roll a d3, and that will pick which boon you get. If you get a boon, DM me your email so I can get it to the proper folks!

![]() |

No worries. This method of play can easily be slowed down by real life. It happens. :)
boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Aw. so close.

GM XaveTheNerd |

I have to ask for this combat: Does anybody have credit for Pathfinder Society Scenario #38 "No Plunder, No Pay" and the Waverider's True Revenge boon?

![]() |

Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Which: 1d3 ⇒ 1
And no to that scenario and boon
