Vilree looks at the intruders with contempt. “It doesn’t matter, you know. I’ve already won. I dispatched my minion to destroy the town just before you arrived here. Everyone in Plaguestone will be dead long before you ever get there!”

I missed a reroll attack on Telekinetic Projectile.

After two rocks slam Vilree in the stomach and face, she falls down to the ground and begins to bleed out. There is little time to celebrate though, as her minions are already heading out to Etran's Folly.

Two options exist; either attempting to track down her servants in an attempt to find the most efficient trail on them, or race back to town at breakneck speed.
Survival to track down, or no skill check but exhaustion to race back to town with no breaks or stopping.

Life got in the way the past few days.

Gobil finds the trail of a creature of some kind. It appears to be of a large build, and knowing Vilree makes creatures of that size fairly often, it seems to be the best bet. Gobil is on the trail well enough that it is now just a simple matter of following the plodding footprints.

Miles pass, minutes turn to hours, and the unsuspecting town grows ever closer. Vilree’s alchemical servant never seems to tire, and there is no sign that it ever stops for food or rest, but it does seem the distance is closing. The trail looks more and more recent.

Just as Etran’s Folly comes into view, so does Vilree’s drudge. It is close to the town but with haste it is still possible to catch it before it can complete its grim task!

No map in this event, so Slide 3 will be used for tracking position. The Drudge is 120ft away from the Plaguestone in the center of the town. You all are 30ft away from the Drudge, behind it.

Unskilled at tracking, Chewface relieves his nerves a little while Gobil begins the search. He does so by cackling over Vilree's body and emptying his waterskin full of alchemical runoff over her face.

As Hulgur springs into action, the goblin picks up his large staff in case the fight keeps moving. Not keen on getting close to the drudge, he throws fire at it.

Started 30 feet away from Drudge it moved 60 for a total of 90. I can't close that distance. Three Actions: Stride for 75 feet. 15 feet away from Drudge. This sucks, I won't even make it to the drudge before it makes it to the stone. Good luck everyone.

Hulgur was 5 feet in front of the drudge last round. Since the drudge moved 60 feet, he'd be at most 55 feet behind. Thus I should be able to move up 50 feet and be within reach.

The Pathfinders catch up to the creature, with ripping and slicing, burning and biting, bludgeoning and bashing, until it can stand no longer. It falls to its knees, and collapses into a heap on the ground.

The ring appears to be one made to cause a reaction in the drudge. It was loaded with enough chemicals that once the ring activated, it would cause the drudge to explode in a gas cloud that would potentially cover the entire town.

What the Plague would have done:

6d6 damage to anyone within a 30ft blast radius
Viridian Vapor (Virulent Disease 5)
You can’t reduce the sickened condition or heal from damage while affected by viridian vapor. Saving Throw DC 23 Fortitude; Onset 10 minutes;
Stage 1 1d6 slashing damage and sickened 1 (1 hour)
Stage 2 2d6 slashing damage and sickened 2 (1 hour)
Stage 3 dead

Returning to Plaguestone, the heroes are welcomed back with bated anticipation, until their stories are heard and the tale of how the most deadly threat to the town was vanquished at the last moment... With a few changes to make the group not sound incompetent for every missed attack.

A funeral will be held for Bort before the caravan makes its departure from the town, as they are all in some level of need and want to leave Etran's Folly behind them. Tamli gives you all a chance to say a few words, a fond farewell to the caravan master that treated everyone amicably. In spite of any shady deals he might have made over the years with questionable characters, he was genuinely kind and fair to his staff and those who rode with him. Tamli sheds more than a few tears as she says goodbye and attempts to make peace with the situation.
