With see invisible Zadeh should be able to see the invisible walls of force?
Agata
|
very busy until tonight but FYI Agata has disintegrate available (and see invisible)
| GM Cwethan |
Interesting, I hadn't come across the argument before that see invisible would work on a wall of force, since I'd always pictured it as being invisible by dint of not having a visual representation, rather than because the wall is shrouded in invisibility, and thus, you couldn't see it like you can't see the invisible force of gravity, or the invisible hand of the free market...
But we're in PFS and there's a strong RAW argument that the spell description does indeed say "invisible" so sure! Remaining segments are marked, the walls go to the ceiling.
| Summoned Movanic Deva |
Each of the devas ready an action to bombard the area beyond with holy smites if the wall of force gets removed.
Holy damage: 5d8 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 2, 7) = 16
Holy damage: 5d8 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 5, 7) = 24
Holy damage: 5d8 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 2, 3) = 20
Holy damage: 5d8 ⇒ (8, 3, 1, 1, 7) = 20
This assumes that whatever is in there is evil and not an outsider. DC18 will save for half damage and to negate 1 round of invisibility. If they are not evil then damage is halved and no chance of blindness. If they are an evil outsider the damage is instead...
Evil outsider: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 3, 5, 6, 2, 1, 6) = 29
Evil outsider: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 2, 5, 5, 2, 5) = 30
Evil outsider: 8d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 4, 3, 1, 4, 1) = 19
Evil outsider: 8d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 4, 1, 5, 4, 1) = 33
If the enemy has SR
SR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
SR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
SR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
SR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Did I pass the poison save then? The DCs can be so inconsistent. If seeing invisible works, then Arillia would have known it was there as well. (Edit: nevermind. I see your so far so good now)
Displeased with the notion of being trapped inside a poisonous chamber, Arillia casts Disintegrate barrier. Assuming that works, she will then try to leave.

Arillia Kaenath

I hadn't looked at the map yet and assumed it was all one wall. It looks like there are two of them? If blasting south will get rid of that entire wall, then she'll go that way. Otherwise there isn't much point in shooting one small section of wall and she'll Dimension Door the trapped group out to the south, past the golem's body.
Agata
|
Agata also has Disintegrate prepped and will use it if need be, but that's why I was waiting in case it's not necessary, or doesn't work somehow. But if there are two separate walls then we can disintegrate each of them separately if need be. In any case, I'll be in a meeting all day tomorrow so please bot me as needed. If there's no use for Agata's disintegrate, she'll activate her Aura of Purity against the gas and move up to within 30' of the foe.

Potions of cure serious wounds (3), scroll of iron body, wand of inflict moderate wounds (20 charges), wand of invisibility (19 charges). Zadeh digs through the necromancers effects. Not much here of use to my, anyone else want any of it?
He looks over at Tally as "the plan" is discussed. That seems extreme but I dont see any alternative. I'm just glad it isnt me having to make that decision.
Looking down at Maude he sighs, These companion creatures are so vulnerable Agata, it suprises me that you let her go flying around in a place like this.
Arillia Kaenath

"I'll take the invisibility wand, though I'm not sure we'll have time to use it in this place."
So we're killing Tally? Do we know if a dispel on the effect would also work? It's a high caster level, but not crazy high for us to try. I'd give a few 3rd level slots to try to make it go away if we think that would work.
Arillia Kaenath

Just in case it can help Tally, here are some dispel checks. Pretty sure the DC is 29.

Dispel 3: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23
Dispel 4: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

“Oh I don’t want to do this but we need to act fast. We have about forty five seconds to make this plan work and I don’t see anyone with the ability to raise the dead, we can only shock it back into the land of the living. Here.”
Tally pulls out a vial of silvery liquid and flashes in the light. It a splash potion of BoL (CL 20) from a chronicle sheet. Use it on me if needed.
Tally pulls out her dagger and takes a shot from her hip flask. Then takes another. She begins talking to herself as she mentally prepares.
“I’ll do most of the work, but I’ll need someone else to finish the job. Any volunteers? I’ve never been killed by an angel. Maybe Marcus? Oh, I’d rather not get whipped to death. Shot in the face with an arrow? Ugh. So many choices.”
Tally takes the knife in her hands and for a moment hesitates. She shakes her head.

While the others sort out the details of who is going to murder Tally - a conundrum that, under ordinary circumstances, Agata would find immensely entertaining - the old elven crone stoops to gather up what remains of the tiny azata. Her french maid's uniform is in tatters, her wings shredded, and her corpse lies quite still. A teardrop appears to dangle from the tip of Agata's nose, but if asked she insists that she is merely peeved at the thought of having to make her own tea. She heaves a deep sigh and then begins to rummage in her rucksack before pulling out a dusty scroll - one that, from the looks of it, was purchased long ago.
"Well, Sweet Mawd weren't always the best maid servant a lady could ask fer - " she pauses, as if anticipating that someone may question the appellation, before continuing, "but someone's got t' make the tea, that's fer sure, an' I ain't expect I'll find any better hereabouts any time soon."
She blows the dust off the scroll, unfurls it, and begins to read it over the azata's lifeless body. Raise Animal Companion
UMD (emulate Wis 15), Guidance, mwk tool: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 31 success
Take 10 on UMD (DC 29), Guidance, mwk tool (1d20+18+2+1) for a result of 31
The entire incantation takes some time but, eventually, Sweet Mawd suddenly sits up, yawns, and says "what a terrible dream I had... I'm so glad it wasn't - " she trails off as she looks around at the surroundings. After that, as she goes about preparing a spot of tea to drink in Tally's honor, she says little but can frequently be heard muttering to herself, with the words "union" "grievance" and "osha" being heard prominently.
Sweet Mawd now has 2 permanent negative levels and a bunch of damage. Presumably the damage can be hand-waved as healed by the devas? I don't suppose they also have the ability to do Restoration? Otherwise she'll just have to live with the 2 negative levels for now. (Just to clarify: I've got a couple of scrolls of Restoration, but will save them for now in case PCs need them; if not, will use them to restore Sweet Mawd at the scenario end).
Agata
|
If no one else wants it, Agata will take the Ring of Major Energy Resistance (Cold). She'll also take the Clear Spindle, having already fallen under a compulsion once.
The cloak +4 is an upgrade of 1 for Sweet Mawd (presuming that it resizes to Tiny for her?) but perhaps Tally should take it?
The scroll of Iron Body actually seems pretty useful for one of the tanks (unless Dex based?) and will last for 15 minutes. Sweet Mawd should be able to cast it if no one else can. Anyone want this cast on them?
Dusty Rose Prism is +1 to AC for anyone who doesn't already have an insight bonus. Someone? If no one else takes it (but they should!) Sweet Mawd will.
The Restorative Ointment will possibly remove the poison on someone once our Delay Poison runs out.
Sweet Mawd will take the Wand of Inflict Moderate.
Anyone have an open headband slot? Headband of Int +6 will at least give you some skills for the rest of the adventure...

Re: Loot - Arillia is interested in the cold resistance ring as well, but her need for it isn't anything special unless she deliberately gives herself cold vulnerability by way of Form of the Dragon. I'm not likely to be that facetious in a game like this. Just in case we decide to roll off for the ring, I assume a 1d100 will suffice:
I spent some time tonight reviewing the campaign and recounting Arillia's spell use, including two spells that got declared but weren't actually cast. As of this point, Arillia's spells remaining array is: 3/1/5/5/3/5/4.
Edit: and now I realize I made a mistake. The Empowered Fireball got its metamagic from a rod, not from spell slots. So -1 level 3 slot and +1 level 5 slot remaining: 3/1/4/5/4/5/4. A casting day that lasts for real-time weeks is hard to track!
Agata
|
Agata also doesn't have any special need for the cold ring. She just happens to have an empty ring slot.
Loot roll: 1d100 ⇒ 79 Agata will take it (unless someone else also has an interest) but if you think you may decide to use Form of the Dragon let me know and I'll hand it over.
Marcus Samuel

Who knows how you'll feel about a whipping until you try it. Marcus grins. Plus I can be precise on just how dead you'll be.
As for loot, the Wand of Invisibility would be handy for Marcus. The ring and the amulet each offer +1 AC. The dusty rose is likewise a marginal upgrade. He has a pair of damaged ones. The belt, cloak, headband, and scroll all hold no interest. Some number of cure potions would be appreciated.
