NOTE to all my comrades:
MIlady can Inspire Competence.
This automatically adds a +1 (or +2) Competence Bonus to skill checks of my fellow companions.
BUT-- I need to cast BEFORE your check, to then aid during the check.
So, if you want to benefit from this help (which is a cantrip, and can thus be used a lot) please let Milady somehow know what is coming so she can help.
Tabletop this is easy, but on PbP when we post hours apart, it can be harder, so, if you want this Aid, maybe slip something in your post to let Milady help even if she posts later.
If we ever fight, Milady will normally start by casting Inspire Courage which gives a +1 status bonus to Hit and Damage.
So, if Initiative permits, you can always decide delay and act after Milady to benefit.

Sorry about this, but we have a major upgrade happening this weekend, and I have a lot to do today and tomorrow to get ready. If I happen to get free time, I'll post, but otherwise it could be Sunday before you hear from me. GM, if combat starts, bot me to enter Tiger Stance and use Flurry of Blows with Tiger Claw attacks.
GM Watery Soup |
PSA: I will be on vacation Fri-Sun as well. I'll probably still post, but a lot less often than I have been.
Milady' |
I assume you want to continue, and I assume Milady will use cantrips again.
I am seeing that this character is not the best for PbP (might just keep her tabletop).
The short version:• Every round, if a person is okay w. accepting Milady's Aid, and she knows that person will act:
- she can automatically give them a +1 ; or a +2 if it has been over one hour she did this with this person the last time
Normally I have to roll Performance to see if I Aid as a reaction when the person acts.
But failures are successes, and to crit' I need a Natural 20.
Thus, other than a Nat' 20 I simply Aid w. a +1 (otherwise +2 on a Crit').
So let's just say it's a +1 when no time to roll.
• also, she can cast Guidance for another cumulative +1, but once done, she has to wait 1 hour to do so on the same person
Milady' |
Yes, Milady knows that before the Big Changes, this spell was more powerful!
Lost power since PF1
Guidance
At the bottom of the text:
the target is then temporarily immune for 1 hour.
Milady' |
Honestly, if that was your only action (giving a +1) it was not really overpowered in my eyes.
I also believe that since Guidance takes 1 action now, you would have been able to do that + another spell each round...
Variel Dardala |
Oh, I was seeing people say that out of combat they cast every round, just in case the person needed it. Not overpowered, but somewhat cheesy and not really in keeping with the intent, I think.
Milady' |
Oh, out of combat, yes, that is a bit cheesy...

GM, I just want to make sure I'm understanding they way they've set up the travel time. If it takes 2 hours to get somewhere, and we spend a nonzero amount of time there, then we can only visit 2 places a day, since we have to spend 2 hours getting to place A, 2 more to place B, then 2 more to return to "base", leaving a total of 2 hours to spend in those places. (We could stretch that to 3 places if we spend the night in the last place we visit each day, though we can't necessarily assume that's going to be possible.)
Now, with 3 days before the first departure, we could conceivably get to all five people, but it's tight. After that we have four more "encounters" before our own ship leaves, giving us some buffer for things like we just found - the person isn't where we were expecting them.
We've been trained really hard never to split the party in PFS scenarios, but a few are designed with the expectation that you will. Would it be too spoiler-y for you to tell us if this is one that expects us to split up to get everything done? (If it would be, then we'll just keep on as we are, but sometimes the scenario writer doesn't realize just how ingrained "don't split up" has become in PFS, and the GM gives the players a hint. :-) )
Alternately, is it possible that the 2 hour blocks are meant to include travel and encounter time, so that we can actually get 3 in per day, with the fourth being travel back to "base"?
GM Watery Soup |
The scenario explicitly calls for 2 hours of travel time between locations, but the rest is rather handwavy.
The way I played it, and my intention when running it, was that you'd have a chance to visit 2 locations a day. I actually didn't realize until just now that it made for travel back a bit awkward.
We finished with 2 locations/day just fine. But I think 3/day makes more sense; you may just end up killing some time. Also, if you use Gather Information at any location, you'll have to drop one location.
I'll revise the chart.

AS far as I understood it, this map of the sewers would allow us to move past curfew and sneak back to Yuleg's inn.
Oh, that's a good point. If using the sewers lets us get around at night, that expands the range a bit. I wonder if that was intentional by the author, or if you've found an exploit? ;-)
GM Watery Soup |
Please don't break curfew. There are no mechanics for doing it in the scenario, and I'd rather not have to invent one. It's supposed to be a very severe punishment for getting caught.
You will have plenty of time, and, having discovered Elena on the first day, you have plenty to do as well.

^Based on this comment, it looks like it's a probable loophole. All right Watery Soup, I can agree to not breaking curfew as it might be just adding more work for you and that wouldn't be fair. We'll just agree not to go using the sewers at dark as it'll be cramped, smelly and absolutely dark.

FYI to all of my games: This will be a hectic week at work all the way through Sunday, with me alternating between sitting around waiting and being buried. I will be posting erratically, so if I am a player, bot me as needed. If I am the GM, be patient and I will update as I can.
GM Watery Soup |
Will do. Remember to take care of yourself in between the craziness!
Ixlilton Tenochtzin |
My boss has requested at the last minute to replace him for a meeting out of state. I'll be away all day Wednesday 11 March, GMT -6.
I'll try to post on mobile, but I probably won't be able to post until late that night or until the following day. My apologies to my fellow players and GM.
Variel Dardala |
I just caught up on the thread. No objections to anything said or done so far.
Things are going on schedule here, so with luck I'll be done with the craziness by late Saturday. :)
Ixlilton Tenochtzin |
...I can't believe Hookie got the appointment. Is he like oozing goblin cuteness? Charm? Do I need to start eating pickles?!
GM Watery Soup |
To be honest, it should have required multiple successes. :)
Variel Dardala |
Sorry I've been quiet. The migration went well over the weekend, but there's been a long list of small issues to resolve once folks got back to work on Monday.
I, too, am impressed by Hookie. I may have to study the Way of the Pickle. :-)

Maybe the scheduler's husband is a goblin and the smell of pickles made her predisposed to his wiles.

Sorry, I am tired and will be off to bed, will try to think of it more tomorrow.
Question: why are rafts for 8 a problem? Can we not use them for one boat, and then for the other?
I updated the info' a bit:
______________________
People: Flitch, Yuleg & daughter (Stage 1 filth fever), Daffrid & 3 family (children can't go alone), stone giant (counts as 1), Garrla
Pending: Themolin (appt on Wednesday)
And then we will have seen all on the list we got.
_____________________
Rafts: for 8 (as it stands, 3 PCs will have to swim out to the Rolanna's Prayer)
QUESTION ABOUT THE RAFTS
Resources remaining: 4 barrels, Flitch's disguise kit, Flitch's forged papers, your own forged papers, a wagon, a gigantic pile of pickled fish, the blackmail book (corrections welcome)
_____________________
Rolanna's Prayer: can take 5 at dawn on Thursday
Passengers: Flitch, Daffrid, wife and the kids, and the stone giant (max' passengers)
All these are in the sewers already
We would have to sleep there Wed' night to get out at dawn
_____________________
Merry Mayflower: can take unlimited on Friday but you'll need to go past the guards (we have blackmail item for the guard)
Passengers: Yuleg & daughter (Stage 1 filth fever), Garrla
Pending: Themolin (appt on Wednesday)
_____________________
Wed' we need to see Themolin & then sleep in sewers
_____________________
(note the secondary effect of not neing able to heal Yuleg's daughter on Wednesday night unless you move her into the tunnels in which case nobody will be available to meet Garrla).

Question: why are rafts for 8 a problem? Can we not use them for one boat, and then for the other?
There's nothing that physically prevents that. But I "highly recommend" you stick together.
Milady' |
I see, all of us count of course, if we all accompany one group-- and then all go with the other group.
Milady' |
So, we can transport the rafts into the sewers, carried by us and by some of the people coming with us.
And we have 4 barrels, that we can take into the sewers and try to craft into rafts.
Is that it?
Can we use the people we are escorting out of the city to help carry stuff and thus get all 4 barrels down?
Ixlilton Tenochtzin |
@Variel: Xin-Edasseril was encased in globe to protect it from Earthfall, this kept the city in stasis for thousands of years. When Xin-Edasseril joined the current timeline, the globe protecting it shattered. I imagine these shards are the fragments of this globe or dome. Think of them as a reef or a sharp jagged rock that could cut through the raft or us.
Milady' |
EDIT: Does Milady provide a flank? If so, the lobster is Flat-Footed to Variel's attacks.
A couple things to note about Flank in PF2:
To Flank you must be wielding melee weapons or able to make an unarmed attack, so even with no weapon in hand you flank. And, if you read about Unarmed Attacks: Tou can Strike with your fist or another body part,
So, even if you have a bow in hand, or hands tied or whatever, you can use "another body part".
Milady' |
@Gazard Camille: I believe all Focus spells can be used more than once per day.
You normally spend a Focus point to use them, and can have more than one point.
And then it most often takes "only" 10 minutes of meditation or whatever is your thing, to recover one Focus Point after having spent it (but you can normally only recover one between fights).

Hey, why don't you guys just use your Hero Point rerolls? thought the Game Master.
A little angel appears on his right shoulder. You didn't give them any! it shrieks.
A little devil appears on his left shoulder. They didn't earn any! He blows a raspberry at the angel.
The little angel reaches over and grabs the little devil's outstretched, forked tongue. They earned them, they just didn't get them. He just needs to go back through the thread and hand them out.
Heeth na gointh to do that.
---
Going back through the thread ...
Milady should have gotten a Hero Point for curing Yuleg's daughter.
Gazard should have gotten a Hero Point for mage-handing Garrla's dropped paper. That was clever.
Variel should have gotten a Hero Point for coming up with three forged papers.
Milady' |
Milady shakes her fist at the skies: "Shoulda Woulda Coulda!
You send us gusts of wind, but no points for us Heroes!"
Variel Dardala |
I always forget that hero points exist. Doesn't everyone start with one?
Actually, yes, which I always forget. You can spend 1 for a reroll, or spend them all to not die in combat.
Heads back to the gameplay thread...
