Feel better soon! My kids all had it several weeks ago, and I thought I had it earlier this week and was tested (but didn't). Five families in my neighborhood have it right now.
Crazy stuff!

SnowHeart |

Yeah, I think we got it from our kid through his daycare. So far, I’m the only one whose test results have come back but I’m convinced we all had or have it. Fortunately it’s been super mild for us. I have it the worst with the aches and fatigue but nothing like a bed-ridden flu or worse.

Brogol Stokl |

I'm glad it has been mild for you, SnowHeart. I hope that you and your family recover quickly!
Eris, glad you came through negative and that your kids recovered well as well.

Brogol Stokl |

Traveling tomorrow through the weekend. Will post when able.

GM Snowheart |

BTW, I've decided to stop tracking the "Rebellion Points". It seems a bit artificial and unnecessary. Behind the scenes, they're used as triggers for different events, but I'm just going to handle things more narratively and plug things in when they seem to fit. I'm still going to try to use the last page of the handouts page to keep track of events, though, which will help me remember significant changes from the as-written AP as well as between the two tables I'm running.

GM Snowheart |

Yeah, I just realized we were missing Raziya too while I was checking the campaign info tab. Fingers crossed.

Brogol Stokl |

I hope Eris learns how to be a normal girl regardless! Hopefully Karik and Raziya are back soon.

Ingrid Foedottir |

Fingers crossed on life just being busy and that they come back.

Franz Otto Zieber |

*thumbs up* on not tracking Rebellion Points if they're not working for you. When I GM I often fudge any system like that in order to get better drama, tension and pacing. Especially when they're so opaque from the player side that you don't know what its even doing for the campaign.
I'm kinda amused that the active players here are much of the original CotCT team (and Brogol, of course!). I'm not sure if we've lost either of the other two permanently, considering that I'm GM-ing another game where a player ghosted for almost a full month only to come back and resume posting regularly.

My goodness—how did I not realize Ingrid is Kalem?!?

Brogol Stokl |

I... just realized that our Doc is an arcanist and not an alchemist. I read that wrong months(!) ago and have been operating under that assumption ever since!

GM Snowheart |

I bungled a few things that first round, not just Franz's readied action but also skipping Cimri's turn, but it probably worked to your benefit in total, as if I hadn't skipped Cimri, those natty ones would have been all hers. Regardless, apologies. Hopefully it won't result in a silly stupid fight.

Brogol Stokl |

Happy to take the natty ones on Caggin's turn! PBP fights are difficult to GM (for me at least).

Ingrid Foedottir |

Ah, damage resistance. Why must you hurt natural attack builds so much?

GM Snowheart |

If Caggan attacked Cimri and his action was interrupted, how does he have actions remaining to withdraw? I thought I'd be feeding a pile of AoOs to my team on a platter, not making it difficult for them to chase him :(
Hmm. I see your logic on that, and it would make a lot more sense to me if Caggan was literally in the middle of an action, such as a charge or Combat Maneuver. I'm trying to research this and presently have found an old 500+ post thread that completely failed to resolve this for me (link).
Other links/discussions/FAQ references would be welcome. :)
I've also started a thread in the Rules Advice forum (link).

Franz Otto Zieber |

To me this isn't at all ambiguous (hence my surprise!).
If someone was moving, but got tripped midway through their movement by a readied action, would you give them a fresh move action? If someone was casting a spell, but it got counterspelled with a readied action, would you give them a fresh standard action?
Ultimately though, I'm happy if you just want to make a ruling and we'll stick with it.

This sounds good to me too.

I'll confess, I still feel there is something different in this scenario BUT counterspelling does seem like the closest comparison and my "feelings" aren't a substitute for the rules. [-;
To simply things, I'll roll AoOs and damage on my next update. With the odds of missing plus DR, I don't expect it will change the setup much, so won't require a retcon.

GM Snowheart |

Also, to be clear on this Touch of Madness, his AND saves are -2 for 3 rounds, and it's his SKILLS that have +2. I just wanted to be clear since it seems like he had a save bonus with the verbiage.
Crafty players using all kinds of different abilities.
I thought you were wrong until I started bolding parts of a quote from the ability description and my jaw dropped. Interesting. Lets remember though that SLAs do provoke AoOs, however, which I think I neglected to do, which would bring up all sorts of new questions about when the doctor's spell would have triggered. Y'all are keeping me on my toes with this fight.

![]() |

Would it still provoke where it's a Sp as a melee touch attack, though? It seems like normally it would, but not as part of a melee touch attack. I haven't heard that for a Bad Touch Cleric.

GM Snowheart |

I believe so. SLAs provoke just like casting a spell. I believe, though, you could "cast" the SLA, then move up and deliver it, just like you can with a typical bad touch spell.
Could be wrong, though! I'm certainly on a streak!

![]() |

Okay, I think I have the same interpretation you do. I guess last round I wasn't "holding the charge" and therefore would have provoked. I thought you meant I would provoke just delivering it.
I see what you're saying.

Hey all. Feeling a bit under the weather today. Will try to have an update up later this afternoon but it may be tomorrow.

Brogol Stokl |

Hope you feel better soon, GM Snowheart!

Heyya all.
I have been reading along but have had a pretty busy time of late with a bit of changes in my family.
My daughter just came out as gay and so we have needed to focus attention on her to make sure she is feeling loved and supported through what can be pretty damn messy.
Then the family dog ended up on deaths door, then school holidays... all in all a little flat out :P
I actually put up an "I'm still here" post last week but it apparently got eaten.

Hey, Karik. Thanks for checking in and completely understood.
FWIW, it’s been awhile but I’m gay and still remember my coming out process. It’s a different perspective than being the parent but I’d be happy to talk over PM or Discord if it would be at all helpful. Glad you’re being there for her and letting her know she’s loved. The world is much improved compared to 20 years ago but it can still be scary.

Brogol Stokl |

Glad you're still with us, Karik, and I'm glad you're showing your daughter love and giving her support.

Ingrid Foedottir |

Take the time you need. One's family always comes first.

Karik Blood-drinker |

School goes back tomorrow. I'm totally not going down to some time without my preteen daughter and my ADHD son :P
Things should settle down now

GM Snowheart |

FYI - If Caggan had hit Ingrid, it would have taken her down to -0- HP, so I just compared the HeroLab portfolio I'm using for Caggan versus the book version. Other than the "World is Square/Elephant in the Room" adaption, I had given him a level in Barbarian to make up for the additional 2 PCs in the group. Given Karik and Raziya are currently not at the table, I just removed that. As a consequence, his AC has now gone up a little (as he's no longer raging), but his attack/damage/will rolls are all down, as is his HP (rather significantly). Should even this out a bit going forward.

Karik Blood-drinker |

How would we like to handle Karik's re-entry to everything? Shall I just wait to after the fight?

Brogol Stokl |

^ I agree just jump in.

GM Snowheart |

There is a running gag in a movie called "The Gamers" about this where the player who away for that session has his character just freeze and people carry him around.

SnowHeart |

Hi all! I'm going to try to keep up with things this week but, to be honest, I'm an absolute ball of stress and anxiety at the moment, and our son's daycare is closed tomorrow so teachers and staff can vote. Depending on tomorrow night, I may also be completely hungover and out of commission on Wednesday. Anyway, I am going to try to stay up on stuff this week, but just wanted to touch base. If you're in the same boat, no worries, please just try to let us know.
