Class Feat: Sneak Attack (Ex) At 3rd level, a cult leader gains the sneak attack ability, as the rogue class feature. If he already has sneak attack from another class, the extra damage from the classes that grant sneak attack stack for the purpose of determining the sneak attack’s extra damage dice. This extra damage is 1d6 at 3rd level and increases by 1d6 every 3 levels thereafter.
Lvl 3 VMC: Near Death (You gain a +2 insight bonus on saves against diseases, mind-affecting effects, and poisons. At 13th level, this bonus also applies on saves against death effects, sleep effects, and stunning. At 17th level, the bonus increases to +4.)

AC increases from 16 to 19
Saves get a nice increase as well, with bonuses that resemble Hardy (yay for being like a dwarf!)

For WBL, as we are supposed to be at 3000 even right now, here is what I would like to do:

* Fighter’s Kit (9 gold)
* A masterwork light mace, with a pommel containing an Asmodean pentagram inlaid with crushed rubies (152 gold, bought from party loot)
* Holy Symbol Tatoo (100 gold)
* Masterwork Living Steel Agile Breastplate with Armored Kilt (570 gold, +7 AC, +2 Max Dex, -3 ACP normal, -0 ACP climb/acrobatics, Heavy Armor)
* Gold (2169)

Figure that, with Ingrid only having Dex14 and unlikely to ever increase it, an agile breastplate is just as good as a mithral one. Can pick up Comfort to make the general ACP -2, which is good enough.

And living steel?

"Some trees suck up potent minerals through their roots the same way others draw water from the ground. Though these trees blunt saws and axes used to hew them and shrug off fire, they eventually succumb to time or the elements. When properly harvested, these fallen trees produce nuggets of a metal called living steel. This glossy green metal slowly repairs itself. An item made from living steel repairs damage to itself at a rate of 2 hit points per day, or 1 hit point per day if it has the broken condition. Items not primarily of metal are not meaningfully affected by being partially made of living steel. Armor and shields made from living steel can damage metal weapons that strike them. Whenever the wielder of a metal weapon rolls a natural 1 on an attack roll against a creature wearing living steel armor or wielding a living steel shield, the item must make a DC 20 Fortitude save or gain the broken condition. If the weapon already has the broken condition, it is instead destroyed. Living steel cannot damage adamantine weapons in this way."

This is cool in that her armor fixes itself. That alone is worth 1000 gold! Add in comfort and it cleans itself as well. :)

One other thing we may want to consider as a group purchase (once we have more funds) is buying a wand of CLW.

Though we have a couple divine casters, none of us can spontaneously cast cure spells. I've been planning to dedicate a spell per level to a healing spell, but I'm not really a healer.

Ingrid, any thoughts on you using one of your spell slots as a backup heal spell?

Anyway, this is probably one of our evil group weaknesses, and we should shore that up.

How would you feel about Karik turning into a full vampire?

sunlight becoming an issue effects us all so I need to discuss it witgh you.

It's true you're already going this way, so sounds cool. How would this work mechanically? I guess the biggest issue is just making sure it doesn't overshadow the group mechanically.

^ This would be my concern as well. I also see need for our human folk to invest in darkvision-generating items, since we'll be using darkness by necessity a lot more, even with protective penumbra spell. But we'll be pretty high level by the time Karik is actually a vampire, so this may be less of an issue.

Thematically, I think this is cool and totally fits with Karik's character.

The transformation is pretty feat heavy and since I'm not exactly built for combat and it does nothing for my casting or Eidolon (Except costing me the feats I would otherwise be spending on "Extra Evolution"
:P ) I doubt I'll end up over shadowing anyone.

Catching up on posts and a tad mortified on the wealth situation. Not sure what it is with APs and wealth often being a bit short. I feel like sometime I should do an audit of a couple books and added things up just to see if it actually is on track as they claim.

Anyway, let's do this... Give yourself a budget of however much your actual wealth is short of 3,000 gp (i.e., target for 3rd level). Pick what you want, no single item worth more than 1,500gp, and Razelago will give it to you (no strings attached... mostly). >:-)

Add to that Riley's only significant gear: potion of CLW; potion of invisibility; mwk rapier

In my experience, Pathfinder APs usually deliver enough loot to be a bit above wealth by level, especially if you can make use of items rather than selling them for half.

However, they do sometimes have periods of feast and famine. The one that comes to mind for me is RotRL's 1st book, where the first two thirds of the book provides slim pickings even if you find everything (I think you're left with 2k gp per person as the PCs hit level 3). But the dungeon immediately afterward is overflowing with loot. If the PCs find everything, it brings them up to the wealth appropriate for a 5th level character just as they hit 4th level.

Could be that this adventure is going to serve up a feast in the last third.

GM, what kind of horse did Riley have? I assume it had standard bit, bridle, etc. as well?

All, I think some of our money disparities are because we haven't sold anything yet. We have 2230 GP worth of unsold gear, etc., not including unidentified or value-unknown items. Additionally, we have the following items of unknown value:

  • Collectors' edition artisanal tools (Louslik's manor)
  • Unidentified potions, 8 (Sheriff's office)
  • Wand, Unidentified (Sheriff's office)
  • Bill of ownership (Sheriff's office)

Do we just want to wipe the unidentified gear and the vendor trash clean and say that it was traded in as part of our reward?

We also have 3 unclaimed potions of CLW, and one unclaimed potion of invisibility. Should these go to anyone in specific, or do we want to put them aside as needed for situational use?

I'm still wrestling with a feat for this level, but am leaning towards extra inspiration.

As for gear, there's a lot that Brogol wants. A fancy carriage, some nice armor, a mount and gear...

HEY (and argh)! For the argh, I realize an update I posted before my unannounced break was eaten by the website. #$%*!!!

Also, sorry for the unannounced break. I have not disappeared and owe you guys an update.

Last week I was pouring all of my creative juices into a visual novel I'm working on. I wanted to the first build/demo out and any second I wasn't doing my salaried work (which was also pretty busy) or family time was spent on that. But, I got it done, received positive feedback and already have my first few patrons. Sorry for the lack of an update here or "back in one week" post.

That said... back. :) Update coming today.

Very cool Snow! Also, wow, a VN I've been actively following the development of just recently had its first public demo, and for a brief moment I was utterly convinced that you were secretly the dev for that game. Probably just coincidence, but it had me shook.

Willing to share what your VN is about? I'm a pretty big fan of some of the twisty, mind bending stories that people put together in that medium.
