Ice is safe to cross but is difficult terrain!

Lilic sees a couple potions littered among the broken sled and a trail of blood that leads to an island. A collapsed person moans in pain. It's none other than Leif, a member of the Two Houses team.

"Oh, by Erastil's bow, saviors. Please, the beast took Oluf." he lets out a racking sob. "That cave. Save him, please."

Marked the cave in orange. You all are in exploration mode, so I'm using your default activities unless you change them!

Nina had assumed Leif was not in imminent danger since he asked us to save Oluf. If he was, Nina can Treat Wounds while people more capable of defending themselves go first.

As Lilic approaches the large island on the opposite side of the pond, he notices a bear at the mouth of the cave, ready to charge. Several unmoving human bodies lay inside the cave, too far away to determine if they are injured - or worse.

His short sword in hand, Lilic trudges discreetly across the ice, and then up onto the island, moving in to where he sees he can later be in a flanking position with one of his comrades.

Then, glancing at all the mauled and maybe dying competitors, he feels there is no time to try and calm the animal, he slashes at the beast, wondering if you are the bear we noticed roaming around our camp?

Lilic's sword cannot pierce its hide. The bear roars with anger. At least one of the bodies in the cave lets out rattling moan. Clearly, there's some sign of life, but it sounds bad.

The bear claws at Lilic Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22 and digs into his flesh Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 slashing. It keeps a strong hold on Lilic grab special ability and tosses him back twenty feet unique two-action activity.

Nina wobbles closer to Lilic, but he doesn't seem hurt enough to warrant using a heal spell. Instead, she casts forbidding ward between him and the bear.

Lilic's slices don't seem to cut through the bear's thick fur to injure the creature. However, Sanva's Flickmace hits the bear solidly. It growls in pain, turning its attention to the gnome. It moves step action to face her and tries to take a bite 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20. The beast's jaws snap around her arm dealing 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 1) + 4 = 11 piercing. Then, it tries to slash at her 1d20 + 12 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 12 - 4 = 20 and tears at her for 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 slashing damage, plus grabbed. D:

Fire continues to molder in the beast's fur.

Savna shouldn't need to d9 the flat check at all. She moves in initiative to just before the bear, allowing all of us a turn to save her.

Nina casts Angelic Halo, and then a 2-action Heal on Savna. Unfortunately, Nina is not close enough that Angelic Halo would help this round.

Dr. Ripfang whistles as his monkey moves up behind. double move due to the terrain being difficult.

Dr. Ripfang draws for a bottle made of stained glass that nearly crackles with lightning as he tries to chuck it over his allies' heads at the bear.

Normally at the table I'd ask about splash damage before throwing, I'm going to assume folks are okay with potentially 1 point of damage and have my turn written out under spoiler. If not please speak up and I'll do my turn differently

Turn as planned:
bomb: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

If that hit's it's 4 electric damage to the bear and it's flat footed for 1 round and 1 electric damage to Lilic, Raine and Savna.

If that misses it's 1 electrical splash to the bear.

The jaguar finishes its approach, stepping onto the more solid ground of the island and then bites at the bear.

Chulyin then invokes primal energies to restore Lilic's body.

Oh, duh. That's helpful! Well then.

Just as Savna closes her eyes and lets go of her flickmace, she is woken up by warm positive energy flowing through her. She reached out, grabbing her flickmace right as it hits the ground, and swings once more with all her might.

Flickmace Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
bludgeoning damage: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (2, 8) + 3 = 13

Using a hero point reroll on that attack roll.

Lilic's shortsword comes just short of hurting the bear, but the rest of the barrage of attacks hit true. It lets out a roar of anger.

In the cave, the moans turn to shallow breathing. Clearly, the situation is dire.

Waiting for Rainesong to post but should do so tonight! The cave is kind of abstraction, so I'll say that all the bodies are conveniently just within the cave.

Raine's punches hit nothing but air, leaving the bear unharmed (except for the still-smoldering fire in its pelt, the bruises from Savna' flickmace, the scratches from - well, you get the deal).

The bear claw as at Savna, desperate to push her back strike for Claw: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26 and Slashing Damage: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12. It pulls her into its [ooc] free Grab and tosses her away from the cave. Its claws rip into her for 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 slashing damage as she goes flying.
