I’m a big fan of the “turf and turf” and also when he orders the party platter.
Ron's appetite is bigger than mine (to my great shame), but I vibed so hard with him walking into a store and declaring "I know more than you" when asked if he needed help. In my second to last move, I walked into a Best Buy looking for a new laptop and started rattling off a bunch of specifications to the attendant, who looked at me like I had two heads and slowly backed away.
My Ron-like appetite mostly regards the sad day when he finds out that Charles Mulligan's Steakhouse has been shut down for health code violations.
"What happened to the steaks that were in there when they closed? Do you think they got eaten?"
And then later.
*scream* "What in the devil's name is this?"
"Portabella mushrooms!"
"Where's the steak?!"
"Oh there's no steak. That's a healthier option. It's organically grown."
*faints*

If it would help for me to just put in my header what spells I have cast once we get to the portal, just let me know. Gaius is judicious and time-aware.

Well, I'm packing up for my week of camping. I will try to post occasionally, when electricity and cell signal allow, but I won't have access to my notes really. I'm willing to go through the portal while I'm away if that's how the posting goes, but I may have trouble posting certain details or answer some questions until I get back, so just a heads up there.

Sorry, RL has been crazy the last week or two. Things are calming down now and I'm hoping to have gameplay posts up tomorrow.
I’ve also been busy but I assure y’all I’m still here :)
Hey all, sorry for the long delay! I've just bowed out of almost all the games that I've been a player in because I just haven't had the time/energy to keep up with things lately. I do really love the Tower though and if you're all still interested I'd really like to get it moving again. Hopefully now that my gaming load is considerably lighter I'll have a bunch more time and energy to devote to this.
If anyone feels like they've already checked out and I've missed the window to get things moving, please say so and there'll be no hard feelings- this one's on me for sure. Otherwise, I'll get a gameplay post up tonight or tomorrow (depending on how patient for a response I am) and we can start unraveling some more mysteries!
I would very much like to continue! I feel invested here, and with my lengthy absence at the beginning of the year I'd be a hypocrite if I said anything!

Yep, still here. But I've got to say, work is beating me down on a nightly basis and my posting has taken a nasty hit. I try and use the weekends to just rest. Even that's difficult because there are some Saturdays I work also. Hopefully, though, that'll be ending soon.
So, obviously, that's the reason I rarely post. I'll try and keep up as best I can but I can't promise anything.
Other than that, still here. Just not as often as I'd prefer to be. :P

I know that it's a bit outside of his usual scope, but if Maximus wants to invest in a non-combat spell, his Inner Strength Third Attunement could allow him to grab Sending as a 5th-level alchemist spell. Then we just have an on-demand Sender.
Also, if Maximus decides to eat a spoonful of ooze, I bid for Lyra and Gaius to reenact this scene.
I don’t mean to deter you from taking it, but FYI I’ll probably buy a scroll and learn it the next chance I get. Just need to scare up some funds first :)
Uhh… they’re your characters, you can do what you want, but I do not suggest swallowing oozes.
New character concept: Ozzie the Ooze-Eater.
I don't really have the time to try to come up with a viable character concept, but this will probably keep me entertained for a bit.
While Gaius and Lyra discuss all the reasons why eating an ooze would be a terrible idea (such as these ones being immune to acid and therefore impossible to digest), the Witness focuses on the irregularly shaped light just east of Estria on the map and undertakes the lengthy process of casting scrying targeting it.

The Witness will cast scrying using the map, targeting the closest Seeker as best he can figure.
A word on scrying with spells like aura sight, or arcane sight:
the sensor has your full visual acuity, including any magical effects
Spells like arcane/aura sight target you and enhance your vision, so they automatically work through even a normal scrying spell. The same would go for true seeing (if it were cast on the scryer, obviously). Spells like detect evil/magic are AoE emanations and not (technically) modifications to your vision so they follow the other rules in the spell descriptions (a chance to work with normally scrying and reliable use with greater scrying).

Which is probably just as well because this is my insane time of the year at work and my posting is gonna be way spotty. Even worse than normal I'd wager. I'll be working 6 days a week until Christmas and I'm gonna be exhausted which leaves me with very little mental capacity to do anything. (Not that I had a great deal of mental capacity to begin with, mind you), :P
I shot a PM to Gaius, hopefully we’ll hear from him soon. In the meantime, I do need to know who Seth (and anyone else) is trying to influence.
Will do my best to review them tonight and figure that out.
Still no reply from Gaius. If Seth hasn't had a chance to post who he wants to influence by tonight, I'll roll to randomly determine who he found himself spending time with; and I'll give Gaius something to do for the week so we can get moving again.

Hopefully as RL calms down interest in the game may pick back up again. I know nobody has actually talked to each other about the previous week of downtime at all, nor discussed whether or not we want to go straight into the third and final (at least for now) week, but I could put together a list of activities and move us straight to that if it would be helpful? Or, if there's anything anyone wants to do, please let me know.
I know there were 2 ideas that got shot down by the Institute... you could try pursuing one of those without their support if you really want to?

Hey folks, profuse apologies for the silence - especially to John Gs, who’s enthusiasm has carried this game through prior periods of silence over the past four years. I know ye not save over the ether, but you’re very much appreciated. I wanted to let y’all know I’m still here and dedicated to continuing this game. I’ve had a rough 30some days or so, but hope to get back into semi-regular posting in the next week or two.
For me, this past month has been a bit of an object lesson in how posting something, anything, even in discussion, is better than nothing. Looking back I wish I’d just taken the time to pop in and say hello.
I hope y’all are having a decent holiday season. Furthermore, I hope we all return to continue exploring The Tower and It’s mysteries in the New Year (even if it’s not a new tran.)
