No worries. Stay healthy as best you can!!! Did you lose your sense of smell at all?

Gaius Ignatius V |

That's no fun please take care!

The Witness |

Apologies for my delay, the beginning of my week saw weather revealing a leaky skylight and creating a sinkhole across my driveway (not technically, from a geological standpoint, but the same basic effect). In all the "excitement" I totally spaced on my pbp games.

Gaius Ignatius V |

Everyone seems to be having rough times lately! Good luck with the "excitement".

Arbiter of the Tower |

I’ll have a real post up in a little while but I just wanted to say how glad I am that you guys (mostly) seem to be enjoying exploring. I was worried that the quest(s) to find the gryffons might turn into a series rushed rolls to find one followed by a (possibly unsatisfying) combat and then on to the next one, but I’ve really been enjoying the chance to flesh out Cardriss (in this time period) while you make your way from one to the next through multiple detours.

Javell DeLeon |

Lyra's eyebrows raise slightly at Maximus pulling out her chair, but then understands it is so he could joke around without insulting any of the local people "Goat Potatoe!" Lyra orders loudly with a pleasant tone.
Brilliantly read! Oh man that is awesome. I thought to myself: "Dangit, I should've written that differently and been more precise about that" but you nailed it! You saw it perfectly!
Man that is a welcome relief. There's been times in past other games that it gets misread - and it's far more clear - and then I have to explain it all, if you will. That's tiring. I cannot emphasize how much of a relief that is. Brilliant! Thanks and well done! *thumbs up*

Gaius Ignatius V |

I have definitely been enjoying the exploration of Cardriss, especially since Gaius and Maximus didn't have as much time to look around before entering the Tower. I'll post from Gaius' perspective ASAP.

Arbiter of the Tower |

@Maximus- I wish there was a way to audibly groan at your pun post, lol. In the immortal words of that doctor character from the movie where Russell Crowe is a British sea captain, "he who would pun would pick a pocket."
@Gaius- If you want to talk to your sword, there are options. Let me rephrase that: if you want your sword to talk back to you, there are options. As your bonded item, you can always just enchant it however you want (you just have to get your hands on the coin/materials to do it). Or, you could always take the legendary item mythic path ability and pick intelligent item as one of its powers.

Gaius Ignatius V |

Oooh, I forgot about that path. It's definitely something to consider.

Javell DeLeon |

@Maximus- I wish there was a way to audibly groan at your pun post, lol. In the immortal words of that doctor character from the movie where Russell Crowe is a British sea captain, "he who would pun would pick a pocket."
Lol! Mission. Accomplished. ;D

Arbiter of the Tower |

It seems like nobody has any more questions for the locals… any other spells tonight or are you looking to sleep at the tavern?

The Witness |

The Witness is ready to retire* for the evening.

Arbiter of the Tower |

@Lyra- You don’t need to stand up with flight, so you’re good to move. Also, anyone with at least +1 BAB can draw a weapon as part of a move, so I think you could have stood and drew it (at the same time, with the same action) last round. Finally, remember that your name is Lyra, unless you want everyone to call you something new (you’ve been writing “Lora” pretty consistently the last couple posts).

The Pigeon, Lyra Posfurore |

Knowing your own character's name is overrated :) Doesn't help I am posting in between having to do things. Free time lately has been lower than normal.
I knew moving and drawing a weapon was allowed, but was uncertain that applied to standing.
"If you have a base attack bonus of +1 or higher, you may draw a weapon as a free action combined with a regular move."
Regular being the point of maybeness.
Either way, LYRA will chase after the half-dwarf.

Arbiter of the Tower |

Since we're technically not in combat, I'm not going to hold people to the 24 hour posting window. Even so, if Gavin and/or the Witness hasn't posted by sometime tonight I'll have them continue to wait and watch and post Lyra and Gaius heading down the stairs.

Javell DeLeon |

I never noticed the question Maximus, I apologize for having Lyra ignore you. We posted pretty close, so ninjaness I am assuming. And Gaius, while Lyra does love to fight, she is not a killer. Even if she got their first, Gaius should know that.
Oh HECK no! No worries at all. It's all good. Heck, as far as I'm concerned, it was fitting. Made perfect sense. She was a gal on a mission. :)

The Witness |

FYI I'll be traveling over the next week without a computer; my posting may be a bit spotty until I get back home.

Arbiter of the Tower |

Witness- have a good trip
Everyone else- so, what’s the plan for the new day?

The Witness |

I'm back!

Arbiter of the Tower |

Sometimes I forget just how much I've enjoyed this game. I just went back to check if a specific NPC had used a specific language (to see what stand-in language I'd used) and ended up reading through the whole section on aiding Celthorax's revolution again.
I really hope that at some point we can get back to all having the time/energy to get into a solid posting rhythm again, and get to some more cool stuff. Not that what we're doing right now isn't cool, but so that we can move more quickly and get to more cool stuff.

Javell DeLeon |

Why didn't I cast honeyed tongue?! Arg! I'm out of practice! Totally bombed that diplo check, sorry guys.
Lol!
Boy you sure did. With that measly pathetic 55 you rolled, I wouldn't be surprised if they went all nuts on us and called in murderous armies to pound us into smithereens.
Just let Maximus handle the diplomacy next time, m-kay? He'll show you how it's done. ;D

Gaius Ignatius V |

*Gaius breaks the fourth wall.*
"Do not let him do that. He's lucky, but honeyed words are not his strong suit!"
*The bard begins to fade back into Cardriss, before his absurdist player drags him back once more to the Discussion.*
"But truly, that was absurdly impressive, Gavin, you have nothing to be ashamed of."

Arbiter of the Tower |

Lol- Gavin routinely gets diplomacy results in the 50s and 60s. He took display of Charisma for his first mythic path ability (which lets him spend a mythic point to add +20 to any Cha check or Cha-based skill check) and he is not shy about spending mythic points. (I’ve never done the math but over the course of the campaign so far he might have spent more mythic points than the rest of you combined!)

Maximus absolutely obliterates the fourth wall and smashes any busted bricks to powder just because he can.
"Hold a moment! I'm not letting the bard get away with that that easily! Don't listen to Gaius, folks. I can honey those words with the best of them. TRUST me. Okay, next time, I'LL do the talking and we'll be in like Flynn. You can bank on it," he vows, crossing his arms and winking, like he's all cool or something. Maximus then poses a questioning look before, "Anybody know what a 'Flynn' is? I don't get it."

Arbiter of the Tower |

A friendly reminder, mostly for Gaius: getting physical samples is everyone’s quest, Gaius’ side-quest is to gather information about the gryffons’ habitat/behavior/etc to exchange for stories about your father.
Also, right now it looks like 2 votes for killing the lion/eagle gryffon, and one against, maybe? Anyone else want to chime in?

Gaius Ignatius V |

Thanks! I did a quick scan through previous posts, but it's been a few months and I'm trying to keep the thread straight!

The Witness |

Sorry for the silence, had some RL drama. Should be back on track.

Gaius Ignatius V |

Drama is fun in a good book, show, game, or film. It's less fun in real life. Hope you're doing okay!

Gavin Soleques |

I'm pleased to say that tomorrow morning, I will be leaving for a trip to Italy with family for three weeks. I will check in when I can, but the days will be quite full. Please feel free to bot me to keep things moving. I'll talk to you all again soon!

The Pigeon, Lyra Posfurore |

That sounds awesome. ENJOY!

The Witness |

Bon voyage!

Javell DeLeon |

I KNEW I seen that "John Billings Bryant" somewhere! When you submitted him in Delmoth's recruit thread I'm like: "That name looks familiar".
Sure enough! Man that's wild. After all this time I did not even realize that that was you in the "The Bell Tolls Slowly in the Dark" game, GH. :)
That was a good game too. I liked it anyway. Was disappointed to see that one die.

Giant Halfling |

Lol- I really liked that game too! It was a shame the GM couldn’t keep it going, but I know how much work it is, especially when you’re generating all the content yourself. If Delmoth’s recruitment goes well maybe we’ll get to be players together again (and I think Poly might have applied too).

Javell DeLeon |

That would be awesome. But there are 26 applicants! And I'd gather he'd probably snag those he's played with before. Which, I totally don't blame him. Go with who you know and trust to be dependable. It's really hard not to with the level of player turnover on these boards. To put it into perspective, I've been in roughly about 60 games(maybe a tad less including my current ones) and maybe 15 of them I was an original player. The rest I've been in as a replacement. Just the nature of the beast that we call the Paizo boards.
And Lol! I saw Poly's name - somewhere, I can't remember if it was Delmoth's game or not to be honest - and for the life of me couldn't remember where I saw that name. I said to myself: "I know I've been in a game with that guy somewhere". Checked his OLD games and just didn't see it. Lol! Oh my gosh. So terrible. I swear, if it was an 80' long, 10,000 lbs snake... :P
I'm so use to seeing pc names ONLY I eventually just forget the name of the player behind it. :P

Javell DeLeon |

Okay, the good news is, the attacks wind up actually being right. Whew! That's a relief. For a minute there I'm thinking I'm cheating! :P
I just didn't erase the "Haste" part like I should've. Still a copy/paste error. And still a nice catch seeing how I missed it so badly. :)

Arbiter of the Tower |

Somebody post something, please!
For the first time in weeks (months?) I’m just sitting around for the next 3 hours or so with absolutely nothing to do but make posts and there’s nothing for me to respond to. I suppose I could just have something attack the shelter…
