Nice, where do we need to be to start the adventure? As a guard for a gem merchant Elek shouldn't have any reason not to be able to get there.

Hey Elek, how old is your PC? I am also from Kandor and we could be/have been acquaintances or friends.

I imagine, that as an earth affinity wilder, I would have been useful in a mining town lol.

Bataar, make sure to check the link to the compiled house rules Rizzen posted on the previous page. The Woodsman's Nature's Warrior ability gets swapped for the Ranger's Favored Enemy and Favored Terrain abilities, granted at the same level as the Ranger class grants them. We also don't get the +2 to any one stat as Humans, I believe.

Here's what I've got for Phntm888's submission, so far. I have an attempted rewrite of a Pathfinder trait in there, as offered on the previous page, to try and get it to make sense based on the setting and his backstory.

I'll add more to the backstory once I know more about where we're starting and how we're getting hooked into the hunt for Malkieri blades.

Elek was born in 973 NE, so he is either 25 or 26 depending on what year the fourth book starts. He's from Canluum to take advantage of the "miner" background feat in "Under the Dragons Banner." If Bataar is not from the area, they may have met elsewhere, for the last five years Elek has been a guard for the merchants.

So, as an 'earth affinity wilder' would you have sold your skills, ie made them public? The whole 'male channeler's be crazy' is still in effect...

Thanks phantom.

Elek, yeah I was thinking more of using the delve for minerals ability in secret, "Oh hey I happened to find a new vein kind of thing.

Also, for favored enemy is it ok to have "Shadowspawn" or do I have to specify, "Trolloc" for example.

EDIT: Now looking at Renlo's sheet, I believe it to be individual enemies.
EDIT 2: Aaaannnd Confirmed by looking at aforementioned house rule page. LOl

Grand Lodge

Rizzen could my Ogrier have fashioned some wooden armor from his Treesinging ability

Yeah, once I saw that change, it was quite exciting. The switch to favored enemy/terrain gave me more options to choose from, since I'm not multiclassing my first five levels.

I'm contemplating a multiclass into the Dai'dore class out of Under the Dragon's Banner for Improved Weapon Finesse, but I didn't think it fit Renlo's background to do so at the start. Plus, he really does hate Trollocs.

Ill answer questions tomorrow guys. Have a merry christmas

Liberty's Edge

I can be from Kandor too. Maybe from a town or cousin of one of the other PCs?

@GM what about Compusure and weavesight? are those skills?

I'm going to Aes Sedai Prc Class? Should I ignore the concentration ranks preq?

What about classes in general? are you "bumping" them up ie No d4 for casters but rather d6? Just wondering...since it makes sense to me since sorcerers and wizards in Pathfinder use d6?

starting point will be Fal Dara.

how you guys get hooked...that'll be shown through gameplay...hopefully. IVe got an idea in my head as to how thisll go down, but am working it through to make sure it makes sense, you know?

@renlo: i like your rewriting for the careful combatant trait. it works.

@critzible: sure, you can treesing some armor. i'll say that its like the wood armor found on here on the d20pSrd site. but instead of a +3AC, let's make it +4 due to excellent craftsmanship from it being treesung.

@qstor: yes, weavesight and composure are class skills for channelers. when i read your post i was like duh. it's right there but then i looked at the post concerning the breakdown of skills from 3.0 to pathfinder, and i saw that composure and weavesight are missing. So yeah, Composure and weavesight are still skills for channelers.

composure and concentration are no longer linked. the method for concentration checks will be as found in pathfinder. Composure is as it is in the WOTrpg book.

also, the HPs for channelers has been raised from d4 to d6s, as indicated in the WOT house rules profile. click here to find the post for the link to the webpage

Silver Crusade

(qstor) submitting for review?

@RIZZENMAGNUS I did background equipment too? And took 1 rank in Ride? Per Borderlander. I'm Yellow Ajah?. I wrote great serpent ring as equip too.

@Robert Henry - can I say I'm your female cousin? Maybe you left to be a caravan guard then I left to go to Tar Valon?

I took the light horse, bit bridle etc? and healing balms?

Tenora WoT wrote:

That's absolutely fine, Cousins it is :)

Elek's mom is Malkier and his father is Kandori. So depending on which side you want to fall on, help yourself. So he would still be from Canluum in Kandori having become a guard for one of the merchants who own the rights to mine.

Easy to get to Fal Dara, Elek would just be a guard with a shipment going there. He has made no oaths to his employer, so he can leave their employment without dishonoring himself.

Rizz, I may change the background skills, (the two from pathfinder, not the Borderlander skills) I may also tweak the feats. We are definitely not using the "Warder archetype" correct? Not going to worry about it's feats if so, but is has 12 HD, so I just wanted to double check :)

Are we using any equipment from any source other than WOT?

What warder archetype?

RIZZENMAGNUS wrote:

sorry, I meant the prestige class in WOT-rpg book, I didn't use the correct phrase. I wanted to make sure that it was not available along with the template, if desired.

I've reread the template, the +1 hp per level, looks like it would be for earlier levels as well, if that's the case it would alleviate some of the concern.

Template only. No prc

I'd say father's brother since I added in the same "last" name. :)

Thanks, Rizzen. I thought the trait really fit a scout, and that I was able to tie it to the setting was pretty helpful.

im pretty sure that's everyone. I know it's the holidays right now, some of the above posted prior to Dec 24th, so im not expecting responses from people until after jan 2nd, as a lot of people play pbp during their lunch breaks.

So elek sent me a pm, and asked about composure being available for melee individuals.

I got to thinking about it, and i still am thinking about it.

But i wanted to put it down here incase i forget about my thoughts tonight when i go to sleep.

Composure for non-channelers as an available skill.

I could see it being available as a class skill for individuals who have learned the feat flame and void.

There is justification for this, see tam al'thor.

If used in context with bladeforms, a composure skill could be considered if the blademaster has entered the void.

Composure skill access, for blademaster, would be limited to the +1 bonus for attacks.

Limiting factor, players would have to find a blademaster who can teach this combo. Its extremely rare.

Also...the party needs a wanderer.

Scarab Sages

The holiday season has eaten a lot of my free time. Funny enough i was thinking of making a wanderer should have something done up my mid day tomorrow

Ok. Sounds good.

Here is the Nine's wanderer. Updating the profile now.

Marik here is from Tar Valon. His great aunt is/was (up to you GM) a member of the white Ajah.

His family moved here about 100 years ago and are simple folk. While Marik helps with dockwork he really spends most of his days/nights gambling, drinking, and wenching. (which isnt always easy in Tar valon but if you know the right folk . . .)

looks good marik.

hop on over to the gameplay thread and jump in.

also, check your PMs.

Hiya Rizzen. Wondering if you have room for one more?

Hope you had a great holiday!

For you, of course i do.

Great! I’ll try and have a character up and running in the next couple of days. It looks like we have a couple of casters, a few melee, and a roguish type already, so I'm not noticing any obvious holes in party role. Maybe a ranged character? I have a few ideas tumbling around in my head, but nothing settled yet. Maybe you can tell me which sounds most interesting for the group and the story you have in mind.

First, I liked the route we were heading with Isa, so I could do something similar - However, an Aiel may be the most difficult to work into the story given when and where we are... Anyway, the idea here is a maiden who gave up her spears to marry, only for the guy to manifest channeling ability shortly after. In a bit of a break from usual protocol, she accompanied him to the border of the blight to say her goodbyes. Along the journey (or yet to come on the journey), she ends up encountering someone/thing. Rizzen knows who/what. I’m thinking she probably isn’t aware yet of what happened down in the Stone of Tear, or has only recently heard rumors. No longer a maiden and no longer married either, she has a few life decisions to make.

Next idea is a former Whitecloak, now exiled and hunted by his former organization for ‘carrying the dark one’s taint.’ He is a wolfbrother and ended up killing a couple of his former fellows making his escape. He came to the Borderlands a few years ago to get away and make a living by selling his services as a mercenary, hopefully combating the shadow in the process. Bad blood with the whitecloaks and bad blood or at least heavy mistrust with the Aes Sedai might make for some interesting rp. Maybe he’ll end up as a warder in the end. Or not. We'll see. Lol

Last is probably the smoothest to work in. A Fal Daran noblewoman and initiate/sister of the tower, back home on tower business. Not sure about ajah yet. Could be a green, but also might swing with something more unusual like white.

Just an idea...why not an undercover Whitecloak?

Oh nice! Looks like you all are moving right along. Dotting to look in on the Gameplay thread and see how Pattern weaves you to it's will! ^_^

did you want to play? i could fit one more in...
