Awesome, so glad to see you finally GMing.
Can I be Poog? Or are we gonna roll off?

GM Puckers |

That'll be up to the lot of you to decide. You can either go the diplomatic route or I can come up with a fun game and you can battle it out like whelps in a cage... TO THE DEATH!

GM Puckers |

Larry mentioned earlier being interested in Mogmurch and Frank has a Poog fetish. I guess the others get to wrastle over the melee gobbies.

GM Puckers |

Ok so that looks like the following for characters?
Reta: Chadius
Poog: Red
Chuffy: LL
Mogmurch: Lorenzo
Get yer greenskins on and I'll fire things up today! Woooo!

GM Puckers |

POOOOOOOOOG!
Recycling PC eh. I've never played Falth before.

GM Puckers |

I believe he was one of the Aspis right? I was the rogue woman for both of those adventures. Unless I'm mixing things up.

GMRed's Pregen |

Yes he was. You're probably thinking of 322? Not sure. Serpent's Rise/Serpent's Ire were some really great fun scenarios that let you see the 'other side' of Society stuff, hope we see similar in PF2 Society...

GM Puckers |

I was pretty disappointed in those two scenarios, but I think that was due to mostly the GM and/or Players that were on the other side of the screen.
Not 322. 322 was the female elf? oracle I believe. The female rogue was Shohiraj I believe is the name. Neutral, businesslike female trapfinder rogue. Her personality didn't mesh well with my less than serious play style.

GM Puckers |

Please very please give me constructive feedback. Both positive and negative. This is a learning experience for me.

GM Puckers |

You're doing just fine, no complaints. :)
That was more for as we go along. If something doesn't go well mention it and a possible fix. If something is amazing then well, mail me a gold star.

The Lady's Pregen |

Sorry for the delay; have been a combination of busy + not feeling the PbP bug. Plus I also admit I didn't expect us to get started quite so quickly; will do my best to keep up with the pace.

GM Puckers |

Ya I figured once the busy of Thanksgiving was over it was a good time so we could get into some flow before the Xmas/New Year holiday threw in another bump.
Glad to see we're all here now! Please put your info in the slides I stole mercilessly from LL for chronicles and 'marching order' if you want to call it that for a pile of useless goblin whelps! But so far they seem to be more than your standard cannon fodder...

GMRed's Pregen |

I take it these are Tier 1-2 chronicles, right? Not sure I've got anyone in that level range, so it'd be a fresh PC that I've gotta build!

GM Puckers |

I'm pretty sure. I'll download the chronicles when I get home to double check.
Once we get to the higher level ones I hope to be able to stash them on Frankie to help him catch up a bit.

GM Puckers |

I'll post this evening when I get home. I gotta work through your idea on my end since its not in the script. How much leeway do I have with the adventure when people go off the rails like this?
Can you add in items that aren't listed in the regular adventure? Or at least move them around?

It's usually okay to go off the rails a little bit, as long as it doesn't impact the overall quest. Wouldn't want us to meet an NPC we aren't supposed to meet yet, for example. I don't think I'd add items in, unless those items are entirely mundane. Moving items around is probably fine.

GM Puckers |

Oh, another another related note: Who's played or gm'd this before? Everyone?
That's a question I used to receive frequently but it seems like its fallen out of the norm.

I've only played We Be Goblins! before and I've not GMed any of them :)
*edit*
As far as the whole 'run as written' rule goes, it's primarily meant to keep GMs from adjusting encounters to make them easier or harder. It's also a good idea to try and roughly keep to the plot as best as you can but GMs generally have more leeway there since it's amazing how some groups can totally get off into the weeds.

GM Puckers |

Traveling today. I'll get to posting tonight or Saturday morning.

The Lady's Pregen |

No worries, GM. And thanks again for running; I know I've been a bit slow to post lately but I am enjoying the game :)

Mogmurch by Larry Smith |

Love the flavor you're adding to the scenario in your posts, GM. Knew you'd be great at this.

GM Puckers |

If its something I know and can do its outdoor scenes. I think I'll try to focus on nature based adventures.

The Lady's Pregen |

^I actually have a few (low-level) characters that would fare well in outdoor/nature-y adventures so that sounds good to me :3
*edit* A good piece of advice given to me (by Larry) was to focus the majority of my GMing on adventures that seemed interesting to me as a GM. It definitely helps in terms of maintaining your own interest in what you're running because it really, really, really sucks trying to run something that you just can't get into.

GM Puckers |

Ya I'll probably avoid purely investigation scenarios or purely dungeon crawls.

GM Puckers |

My first combat post.
Those are time consuming to set up.

Mogmurch by Larry Smith |

PbP Tip: 'Reply' Button for Combat Rounds
One huge GM time-saver, especially in combat, is using the 'Reply' button on his or her previous post to auto-copy the time-consuming typing and formatting for easy editing and use in the next post.
PbP Tip: Combat Map Link
Consider making a fresh link to the the slide with map and images for each combat and include it in each post. That way seems most convenient for the players, especially those using a mobile device.
(If you're using the 'reply' button to pre-format each combat round's post, it requires little extra effort.)
Some GMs prefer a single hotlink at the top of the campaign page; some put it in their GM profile, where a player can find the link within each GM post. Some GMs shuffle their deck of slides to always have the current map at or near the top of the slides. Some don't. I like to keep the slides in the order I unveil or make them (probably because I'd often forget to rearrange them each time).

The Lady's Pregen |

Something else you can do for combat posts that get especially complex is to set up a Google Doc on Google Drive that has the post formatting, map link, etc. This is usually what I do and you can see a basic example of it here. Then I just edit the doc as I resolve each person's actions and then copy the whole thing and paste it into a post.
This way I only have to type up the bulk of the formatting once.
And those spell and condition links?
I've got documents for those too. Works-in-progress but it helps when I need to paste in some of the more commonly used buffs and such.

Reta Bigbad hates dogs |

Link to Spell Templates so you can copy-paste a... say 20 foot radius blast.
I keep everyone's initiatives in a Google Doc so I can copy-paste them into campaigns, and then I reply to the post so I don't have to write everything down. I usually keep NPC actions in a different post so I can reply to those and get, say, enemy attack rolls without the text getting cut off.

Mogmurch by Larry Smith |

Think I've been using the wrong icon for Mogmurch. (I thought it was the orange one.) Is it the white one?
Also, did we recover from any of the nonlethal damage we suffered previously during the contest?

GM Puckers |

Yes the contests NL damage is all healed. You spent the night in the goblin village after the games before setting out in the morning for the tadpole bog to get toads, then on the way to the Hut you were ambushed by Kettlehead and his 'toadies'.
Mogmurch is white, Poog is Orange (with the candle).

Mogmurch by Larry Smith |

I exchanged the old Mogmurch icon with the image that I use for my posts. That should help me (and the rest of us) avoid getting confused.

GM Puckers |

Ya I think the one I used I pulled from the scenario, which was a full body picture verses the headshot like your icon.

Mogmurch by Larry Smith |

Merry Christmas, friends. The leisure and luxury to play this game is a gift.
Glad tidings and great joy this day!

GM Puckers |

Yup, has been pretty good so far. Busy but not omg busy like some years.
Sorry for the large number of holiday posts. I've been at home cooking so had time for more posts than usual. Don't fret if I throw a few extras in there for RP stuff while others are unavailable. I'm in no rush just sometimes get in the mood for posting.

The Lady's Pregen |

No worries! I have moments like those too - lots of free time and lots of creative energy - and those can make for some of the most enjoyable posting periods as a GM :)
