See above I trust the GM to know when the scenario benefits from the PC not knowing the outcome of a roll. However, I also realize the extra burden this puts on a GM (particularly if the GM has to maintain separate rolling parameters for different PCs).

A lot of times I'll prompt you when there are decisions to be made about rolling, I just figured I'd get a list of 'always rolls'. For instance, you have a +7 Survival, so I figure you'll always want me to roll Survival. Probably the same with Society, your lore skills, and maybe Religion.

Ott likes to know things (or at least look like he does), so you can assume that he will attempt to make nearly all "Recall Knowledge" attempts (even if his low modifier makes success unlikely).

It was precisely that feature of the system that I thought might make playing a PC like Ott at little more fun to play. I mean, wouldn't you already think twice about trusting information provided to you by someone with the last name, "Underhand"?

I envisioned a PC trained in Nature using Recall Knowledge to Investigate, looking for clues as to what was going on with the cargo and what it might be attracting. Ott would then Follow the Expert, aiding in the investigation.

If that does not sound reasonable/plausible, then Ott will Scout.

That sounds reasonable, though I'd point out that for some of you (including Brondulf and Brogag at least), your perception is higher than your nature roll, even following the expert (level + WIS + 2), so you might be better off searching anyway.

If I'm reading Page 305 right, I use my spell attack roll to use Chill Touch instead of an unarmed melee attack.
