Doesn't matter on my end, whatever the group decides. If we were in a table top game I maybe would feel differently, but in PbP you don't need to compete to have your voice heard.

Sora Whitespire |

Works for me too. Will you be adjusting encounters? Most APs are made for a default four PCs.

![]() |

Most of your PCs look so incompetent, it shouldn't be an issue.
Just kidding. Obviously.
Since we're doing this in campaign mode, we'll be flexible, adapting encounters as little as possible, and only when necessary.
We'll strive to keep it interesting and challenging.
Dragas, can you have the player send me a PM introducing herself or himself?
Thanks.

Kradel Blastforge |

GM: If you do find yourself with a spare few minutes of inspiration, would you mind throwing up an opening scene (if applicable for the storyline) so we can start some mustering banter? It would be nice to get a feel for each other's characters (and work on fleshing out our own for that matter).

Dragas,
Could you please try again to have the new player contact me or introduce his PC here in the Discussion thread?
There's some basic info I need in order to set up the introduction in the Gameplay thread.
Thanks.

Dragas |

I got ahold of him, Lorenzo. Although he initially wanted to play, he's since changed his mind. He's getting ready to move in the next few weeks and he's got a lot to deal with where that is concerned.
Looks like it will be six players, so if you need to go ahead and set up the introduction in Gameplay, go for it.

Thanks. I'll put something together this weekend and post it.
Hoping to push the action in Gallows of Madness without unduly rushing things. I'd love to finish that up before diving into this.

Smart man!

Also smart. I'll also try and do a little better about pushing the action from the player side.

Looks like Oriklad might join us with a 7th PC. I've asked him to introduce himself and his PC here.

Kradel Blastforge |

Hey Oriklad, welcome to the group.
As far as what you want to play I'd say whatever you enjoy the most, we're likely covered for most angles. Right now we have the following:
Cleric
Barbarian
Witch
Paladin
Fighter
Bard

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Donkere Vulkaan, Mysterious Stranger Gunslinger, Widowed:
After losing his wife to having their house torn down on top of her while he was out in training with the guard. He came back, to find everything he had, gone, and his family's musket, broken. He took it, and with nothing else left for him in Korvosa, he fled. Now, after a few years, he is back, and here to find out who ordered to have his house torn down, along with his wife and life.
I have more ideas, but yea!!!

Everyone, please make sure your tagline includes your PC's alignment.
Something I'll need to check from time to time, and seeing it in your tagline saves me some web-surfing to hunt the info down in your character sheets.

I stand corrected ;)
Kidding. Welcome aboard, Orik :)
Updating tagline w/alignment now!

Almost there, folks. I'm pushing the action in Gallows of Madness as much as I can. We could be done in a week, if everyone's able to cooperate.

Kradel Blastforge |

Good! Thanks for asking. The spring-like winter here in Maine continues. We've been getting March weather most all of January and it looks like it'll continue into early February. At this rate I'll be making maple syrup far earlier than the last couple years.

From what I heard, you guys are doing good on content. I am excited to play and to be with yall again!

Korinne Bryden |
Btw I pinged Dragas and Donkere's players last night to let them know that the game was starting up so I expect they'll post in sometime within the next day or so.
More specifically, Dragas and I are gonna be hanging out for a bit this evening so definitely no posts from either of us until a bit later!

![]() |

Let's give Donkere a chance to make an appearance. I'll advance things this evening, regardless--sooner, if we hear from him.

Sora Whitespire |

Hey GM Lorenzo, it seems the link to the slides in your tagline leads to a different deck than the link at the top of the campaign page. The 'correct' one appears to be the link at the top of the campaign page. Just thought I'd let you know.

![]() |

I notice that problem yesterday, and I thought I'd fixed it.
I just checked again, and the links are working--at least on my end. The link in the tagline starts with the first slide. The link in the Gameplay thread takes you to the intended slide, in this cases Slide #3.
Please double-check, and let me know if it's still a problem for you or the other players.
Thanks.

Sora Whitespire |

Hmm, the link in the tagline leads to a deck with missing images. The one in Gameplay (and at the top of this page) seems to have everything intact.

![]() |

Fixed it.
I misspoke earlier. I'd checked the other links but not the actual tagline link.

Korinne Bryden |
Just so folks hopefully don't worry too much I want to note that given the suggestions in the Player's Guide as well as firsthand guidance from people who have played or GMed this AP, Korinne is not going to toe the 'Lawful' part of her alignment nearly as strongly as she might if this were a different campaign.
I absolutely expect her to butt heads a bit with some of the other characters when it comes to the 'Good' side of her alignment or regarding matters of faith but I have no desire to play a Lawful Stupid or Lawful Self-Righteous Jerk sort of character and be a funkiller.

I've tried to find a tracker of some sort to more efficiently execute and track the Harrowing, but I haven't found anything yet.
If one of you finds something, please let me know.

Mechanics: Harrow Points
Calculate how many of the nine cards in the harrowing are of the suit associated with the current chapter. This number determines how many Harrow Points each PC receives. In this first harrowing (Keys=DEX): 1.
In addition to Harrow Points received from these cards, each PC gains an additional Harrow Point for the card drawn during the Choosing, effectively guaranteeing each PC at least 1 Harrow Point to spend during the chapters, even if the spread resolves without any cards of the current chapter’s suit. In this first harrowing: 1.
If any player’s Choosing is revealed during the spread, that player’s character gains 1 additional Harrow Point. In this first harrowing: 0.
Harrow Points can be spent during the course of a chapter to gain various benefits relating to the suit. Harrow Points unspent at the end of a chapter are lost.
Each PC has earned 2 Harrow Points from Zellara's harrowing.
Spending Harrow Points
The PCs can spend Harrow Points as a free action. As long as a PC has enough points, there is no limit to how many points she can spend in a round.
Edge of Anarchy
In “Edge of Anarchy,” the PCs are faced with numerous situations where they need to be quick on their feet or skilled with their hands. During this chapter, a character can spend his Harrow Points in the following ways.
1. Dexterity Rerolls: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to reroll an initiative check, Reflex save, attack roll modified by Dexterity, or Dexterity-based check. The PC must abide by the new result (although if he has additional Harrow Points, he can use them for additional rerolls).
2. Dodge Bonus: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to gain a +1 dodge bonus to his Armor Class for one encounter. He can spend up to 3 Harrow Points per encounter to increase his Armor Class in this manner.
3. Speed Increase: A PC can spend a Harrow Point to increase his base speed by 10 feet for one encounter.
Extra Boon
Also, the specific cards from the Choosing play additional roles in each chapter. The extra boon granted by each of these cards automatically activates for the PC whose player drew it once the indicated encounter begins and lasts for the duration of that encounter. Do not inform the players of these boons before the encounters occur, but once the encounter does begin, tell the player the details of his or her character’s boon.

Sora Whitespire |

In the first spread, are we missing a card? I only count two, with the third misaligned (but otherwise not indicated).

![]() |

I failed to mention the name of the card, The Cricket, in the text. An oversight in the Gameplay thread, but visible on the slide depicting the Spread, bottom left.

Kradel Blastforge |

Sorry I've been a bit awol the last couple days, fishing of course.
As far as the harrow card stuff I'm a bit lost, but I guess that's because I know nothing about that sort of thing personally. Takes me a bit more to wrap my head around the concepts.
So, on that note, Kradel will also have the same opinion!

![]() |

Though I may seem like an idiot, which I am, I will try and post more. And... I don't know what the harrow does, forgive my transgressions. Also, work has been non stop busy for me, so I will strive to post at least every night!
