Main thing about this level is that feat, which means if I knock somebody down when overrunning them, they will provoke, which allows myself and anybody else within reach (Erasmo & Yazi especially) a free attack. And Yazi already has combat reflexes so it could get nuts!

- This bumps my current DR 2/- to 3/- (while wearing heavy armor)
- For my new armor specialization, I'm torn between taking Armored Master into Poised Bearing (which would allow me to maneuver against bigger targets), Armored Sprint (Run feat and armor counts as medium for running), or Master Armorer (would let Marcus craft magic armor which can make us all more defensive for half price). Thoughts?

Right now I'm leaning against Poised Bearing because I can still naturally maneuver large creatures and we haven't dealt with anything bigger than that. Armored Sprint would make Marcus incredibly difficult to escape in a foot race (maybe recent events make me biased here). Master Armorer would be a team decision and would let me craft things for everybody. There's also options for just straight up boosting my AC or initiative via it, which are always welcome numerical bonuses.

Also, are there any good languages that would be advantageous to pick up?

Per Discord I'm going to take intimidating prowess instead of painful collision and will be using armor specialization to treat my BaB as my ranks in intimidate. Combined that moves Intimidate up to +14, so Marcus is now useful socially!

I would vote for something else instead of command undead, seems a niche choice. If it does come up it's powerful though.

Communal Resist Energy is also a gamble, but I feel like it's a good one since we are expecting spellcasters and that can be a gamechanger.

Command Undead could become my default Burst of Radiance. The gamble is whether cultists of Urgathoa have undead lying around. I memorized Chill Touch for the same reason. Chill Touch is potentially enough for the purpose of undead-specific stuff.

Communal Resist Energy could work if we're dealing with alchemists, but that was super speculative. I have other options including:
Daylight, Fly, Invisibility Sphere, Water Breathing, Suggestion
Suggestion is my default because it's in-character and has OOC uses, but I think our next phase is not very diplomatic in nature.

Ohhhhhh, hmm, that's a fair point. I didn't consider the Urgathoa angle. So yeah I can definitely see keeping it.

I don't imagine fly would be of much use given we plan on going down, presumably underground. Water breathing...eh, more of a "scroll" spell. Invisibility sphere could be useful but our party is very kick in the door style and not very stealthy. Daylight could be a gamechanger if they use darkness on us, but I think our new lamplighter would have that covered?

Hi all. I want to apologize for my extended absence. First things first, I fully intend to keep up with the campaign if you’ll still have me. Second, I’ll offer an explanation. (Posting this to all of my currently active campaigns).

I wish I could say that there was one big thing, but instead it was a lot of small to medium things. Physical and mental health problems, almost 20% of my waking hours spent traveling in the last month and a half, some work-related woes, the stress of the holidays, internet outages, writer’s block, etc. In the few times that I had sufficient time and energy to even look at the Paizo boards, I found myself overwhelmed by the high number of new posts and was experiencing terrific guilt and anxiety about having missed so much. I have been composing this message for a couple of days now, trying to provide a semblance of apology.

And now I am trying to catch up in earnest.

Treasure: A thorough search of the loading dock takes nearly half an hour and requires a successful DC 20 Perception check. Those who take the time, though, are rewarded with a crate of elegant silk Vudrani clothes, such as robes, saris, stoles, turbans, and the like. One of the saris is bloodstained and marred by a jagged gash. Aside from this damage, the brightly patterned garb is collectively worth 300 gp.

a rusty, pathetically jingling lockbox behind the counter. Opening the container requires a successful DC 20 Disable Device check, which reveals 2 gp, 8 sp, 22 cp, a silver tooth worth 1 gp, and a brass key shaped like the symbol of Abadar and bearing the number 261. A PC who succeeds at a DC 16 Knowledge (local or religion) check recognizes the key as belonging to a private deposit box at an Abadaran temple.

If taken to a clerk at the Grand Vault of Abadar, the key leads a priest to fetch Giotorri’s life savings and his effects from his youthful days: 68 gp, a set of masterwork thieves’ tools, a pair of boots of striding and springing, and a sheaf of papers detailing the creation of dozens of poorly designed toys.

Three leather pouches hold a combined total of 15 pp and 300 gp, all of Ustalavic minting; a ring of jumping sculpted to look like intertwined brass spider legs; and a set of bone pipes of haunting.

The footlocker also contains a copy of Serving Your Hunger, Urgathoa’s sacred text. This book is exquisitely illuminated and bound in black silk and velvet over darkwood covers, yet its pages are ancient and fragile. The book is worth 1,500 gp. Any nonevil church in Korvosa will pay this price as a bounty in return for the book, which the clergy will either then archive (if the church is Abadar’s) or destroy (any other nonevil Korvosan church).

    *Even though we have converted her to spontaneous (thanks again), I figure that this could be a source of learning new formulae.

    Checking my list twice, it looks like I also still had 1710 gp leftover from character creation, presumably to purchase formulae and/or potions that I never did. She could have contributed to the earlier purchasing fund (such as the wand of restoration) if that wasn't fully taken care of.

    Now that she has the human-bane rapier (creepy, but useful), she'll sell her normal +1 rapier and net our coffers another 1160 gp. I'm not sure how you want to indicate selling on the sheet, so I'll hold off on that.

    But yeah, that's quite a nice payday. That takes me up to about 38kgp in total items, which is 5kgp more than wealth by level. Selling the +1 rapier (and perhaps the plaguebringer's mask if we think we're done with it) will bring me approximately into line with WBL standards. That's all even before thinking about the nearly 6kgp in gold leftover (a number I imagine will change as others claim).

    I'll wait to think about follow-up purchases until final numbers are confirmed.
