The spherical body spun on its axis, without moving the legs, then the robot skittered away, back to whatever hidey hole it came from.

What's been your favorite SFS Adventure with this character, and why? #1-36: Enter the Ashen Asteroid. Saved Talc. Successfully engineered and computers the s+&* out of that place. Saved Talc again. detected traps, Saved Talc. fought zombie dwarfs, and saved Talc.

Hmmmmm... I somehow do not recall all these said attempts at saving my life. I remember Rei talking a lot of s~*% and missing her shots though.

What's been your favorite SFS Adventure with this character, and why? #1-26 Truth of the Seeker. Not only is this PC a follower of Jadnura, but that he was given to explain to an opponent how he, a survivor of the Scoured Stars Incident and as a vesk-superior in every way to other life-forms-had the strength and power to survive when other, weaker life-forms died horribly and pathetically.

Several of you have asked about boons. This is a Quest scenario, and as such you are not allowed any boons other than Personal (and Promotional rerolls).

I must admit, this may be the most disfunctional group of Starfinders that one of my PCs has been a part of. I'm already having fun!

When the skittermander may be the one most focused on the well-being of the other agents, then you KNOW things will be interesting!

I take full responsibility for said dysfunction.

Welcome to combat! The combat slides are in the link on the campaign page, or at the top of the posts.

The way I do combat is to set up the initiative tracker, and then let everyone post in blocks (before the monster, after the monster, between the monster groups, etc.). If your block is up in the tracker (bolded) then you should post. Don't worry about posting in order, as that slows everything down. Post as you can and I will merge the actions together in initiative order. If your action would depend on what someone before you in the order, place contingencies in spoilers, like this:

Obviously, if it is too complex you can delay, but I will be running combat updates at least once every 24 hours and if you miss your posting block, you lose your action.

Clear as mud?

Sarankahn thinks he should be captain, as he is the superior life form. However, he makes a mediocre Captain or Gunner and can do little else.

Starship-Combat Version of Skills Gunnery +4; Captain (Bluff/Diplomacy +2, Intimidate +7). No Pilot, Computer, or Engineer skills.

Talc insists he will be piloting. If anyone disagrees he will tell you why is best equipped for this task.

I have Diplomacy +6. That is the only starship skill I have, until they add Mystic Officers. My Gunnery mod would be +1. I suspect that making Dawnfriend captain would be the best way of keeping him out of everyone else's way. ;)

Absent better skills in anything else, fDirksi will be a gunner.

Or a pilot. I don't have any skills but my rolls can't be worse than Talc!

I am acceptable as a gunner, science officer, or pilot. I'm also a good engineer. Basically not-captain is my role.

Looks like my prior post was eaten.

Anyways, this array of skills actually makes 6ix a very competent captain, fairly reliably being able to use the Encourage Action to grant a +2 bonus to any other officer each round. The DC is 10 (far lower than if you tried to do the same with a Diplomacy check). The high DCs for Intimidate checks to Demand and Taunt means those actions often can't be used reliably and, even then, a PC is limited in the number of times such actions can be used in a single combat. (CRB, pp. 322-23).

Sorry for my delays. We had guests over and my PC time was limited. I'm back and ready to continue to berate Talc.

And yes, the turrets can be remotely disabled (not taken over). A single Scan action (DC 15) is enough to disable a single turret.

Your Loreseeker (Tier 2 Pegasus frame ) has basic medium-range sensors, so you have to be within 10 hexes to scan anything.

BTW, if you haven't done Starship combat lately, I recommend refreshing yourself on the Phases and Actions. (CRB p.316 for the start of SSC rules)

You are flying a Tier 2 Pegasus frame.

Apparetnly I forgot to mention that the red circles are asteroids that block LOS and will seriously mess you up if you fly into them. The ones with the T on them have the remote turrets. The yellow triangles on your ships indicate facing.

Woo. Crit even if I didn't do that, but now at least it definitely hits the weapons.

Great timing on that Targeting action. With a crit and a CT, that turret is now Malfunctioning.

While Sarankahn intends to offend, I do not. I enjoy playing up this PC's arrogance (which makes his failures all the more fun to play up), but I certainly don't want to be disruptive of the game. If playing up the vesk's bad attitude and unrepentant jerkiness is disruptive to the game, please let me know here or via PM and I will tone him down.

I appreciate the clarification Deathsong, but there is nothing to fret about from my side. Talc just doesn't want to put up with his s~#@, that doesn't mean it's not great! ;) I prefer confrontation, adversity and a little animosity in my roleplaying. Everyone skipping along holding hands doesn't do it for me (Sorry Dawnfriend).

I really wish I had Harrac in this game. He's the anti-Sarankahn Vesk. Over the top pop culture fan. They'd get along great!

Okay folks, we are going into the meat of the silly season now, and I am going to have real difficulty posting regularly on a daily basis. What I propose is that everyone post when and how you can. If we come to a blocking point, we'll all grab a mug of libations and wait for it to resolve, or if someone knows they won't be able to post for their turn and they want to be botted, they can let their teammates know that.

Overall, I don't want game time getting in the way of RL celebrations...but I don't want anyone who really wants to play to be left hanging.
