I hope it will be a fun run for us all!
Hereunder is what I will need from all of you.
Please take time to discuss and ask about what you don't understand or do not have yet, and, as much as you can, try and only post this when you have it all (so I have your info' in one place).

On the very top left of all the pages, you will find three links:
Sideshow Slideshow - current information, maps, and such
This is where you will find the battle map, the illustrations, and other such information.
Handout - info' on the Pathfinders
That is the scenario's handout with basic information about the Pathfinders
PFS 2E Guide
This is where you can find the current PFS 2E Guide
The link to the Guide is also repeated on the line under my avatar's name.
Can you all go to the Sideshow Slideshow, on slide 4, and enter your name and bonus (in place of the Xs) for Perception and Stealth. As well as put your minis in marching order (copying the avatar you'll be using for your character).
Shout if you need any help!
GM Wayfinder
For your email, if you prefer, you can PM me here on Paizo, to not have it on the Forum.
But, as I said, there is no obligation to give your email (it is only to maybe earn a boon).

Yes, it should be over in a couple of weeks, so that should fit in before GD VIII.

This is a great idea for passing the time until Game Day starts! If you have room for another, I'd like to play pregen Fumbus.

- Select Register a New Pathfinder Society (2nd Edition) Character.
- Choose a name and a faction. Select Change. Note that the name you want may already be taken, so you may need to get creative.

Happy to have you.

Thanks a lot, Dax, for having helped echoxero.
And, please, keep on asking for whatever we can help you with echoxero.
I will have a look at your sheet a.s.a.p. (I am flying off to Varisia Romania today, so will do so tonight I think).
People can get their characters up and such, and start posting their intros in Gameplay and I imagine we will get started Monday or Tuesday or something like that.

Volunteers who make exceptional contributions to Organized Play
can earn a wayfinder or campaign coins as a recognition of their
hard work. If you have a campaign coin, you gain a bonus Hero
Point at the beginning of every adventure. In addition to the
normal powers of a Hero Point, you can spend this special Hero
Point to allow another player to reroll a check.
GM Wayfinder
I'll try and find if there is something barring you from using Hero Points to reroll the Downtime check.
For all, re. Slow Track: quests give 1 xp 1 fame 1 rep', and slow track means you get 1/2 of each (this is the only place you can 1/2, since scenarios give 4 xp now). So, my feeling is that it is easier for all calculations to not do slow track for quests, but no problem of course if anybody wants this.

re. Earning Income during Downtime:
Spend 1 Hero Point to reroll a check. You must use the second result. This is a fortune effect (which means you can’t use more than 1 Hero Point on a check).
So you can use your Hero Point to reroll your Earning Income check (but must take 2nd result).
I will thus change to have people rollf or Downtime at the end of the game, since it might be important to keep your Hero Point(s) for the game, and not die... rather than use it first on money that you won't collect if you die!
For those who did so already (rolled your check) you can choose to reroll at the end of the game w. a Hero Point if you have one left and didn't use one already.
For those who used a Hero Point to reroll your Downtime check, I will let you choose to use your Hero Point for something crucial in the game, and, if you do, then simply go with your original Downtime roll, and disregard the reroll.

Okay, so, so far we have 5 signed in:
GM Rinaldo - Variel - Monk 1
Massee - Junior Peppers - Druid 1
echoxero - Lost Child Seeker - Ranger 1
Pirate Rob - Arrus - Ranger 1
RedWolfe - Eldon - Wizard 1
And then 1 coming I am quite sure:
Dax Thura - Tybalt Stonepeak- Fighter 1
Then I messed up with one, having skipped him when I was counting:
Lysle - pregen Fumbus - Alchemist 1
So I will PM Lysle and see if he is okay to join as 7th (since he was earlier on in the first come first serve list and I "forgot" him) - I've DMed this before, and I feel 7 will be fine (it is a Quest, so not a convoluted storyline) and I feel bad I messed up skipping.
I will see if he is okay with joining... (I hope it is okay with all if we end up with 7, but, as I said, I think it is not a problem re. this Quest).
And I'll get the game rolling quite soon.

While my character isn't 100% complete I did decide to bring a fresh Sorcerer idea instead of druid. However he does have the elemental bloodline so will be using the druid's primal spell list anyhow. So basically he'll be a sorcerer druid. It'll be curious to see if its worthwhile for the reduction in armor and hp and saves.

Thanks for the PM, GM. As long as you are all fine with a seventh (and a goblin at that), I'd love to play.

No problem Mr. Peppers!
I'll see if any have other questions, and then get you traveling tomorrow morning...
Otherwise, well, to calculate your tier, I will spell it out if any want to double-check the new mechanics:
We 7 people
All @ level 1
We are in a Tier 1-4 game
So, we have 7 people at the Lowest Character
Which means 7 x 2 = 14 Challenge Points
This in turn equals:
Low subtier (5-player adjustment with level bump to the adventure)
Meaning you are in subtier 1-2 (the lower of the two in 1-4) w. a 5 player adjustment (even though you are 7, I will "only" add things as if you were 5) and a Level Bump.
The level bump is as follows:• Increase every DC listed in the scenario by 1.
• Increase the attack modifiers, attack damage, spell damage, saving throw modifiers, skill modifiers, Perception modifiers, and ACs of all enemy creatures by 1.
• Increase the Hit Point totals of all enemy creatures by 10 or by 10%, whichever is higher.
Everybody okay with my calculations re. the Guide (didn't mess up yet?)
Note: the PFS 2E scenarios are written for 4 people, and there are sidebars for what to add for 5 or 6 or 7 players etc.
GM Rinaldo
Not sure what you mean by "bonds".
Since you have not devoted any networking points to the schools, you can borrow one free item from the "all schools" list, but can't select anything from the school lists.
For downtime, you get 12 days instead of 8. That means that you can make two "earn income" checks, one for 8 days and another for 4 days. Alternately, you can do any other combination of downtime activities, using whatever is left over for an earn income check.
GM Wayfinder
On my phone now
So not much detail
Commissioned means you get 50% more Downtime but did not get training via Swords etc., thus no « free » scroll or potion at the start.
I believe that is how it works
Will check asap and others will correct / add to this
GM Rinaldo
Here is the quote from the guide:
If your character is a field-commissioned agent, they do not get any points to assign to a school. At the beginning of each adventure, the agent receives a consumable item of half their level or lower from Table XX: All Schools; at 1st level, the character does not receive any such consumable items. However, the character’s fewer obligations afford them additional free time, increasing the amount of Downtime they receive after each adventure by 50% (12 Downtime days earned after a scenario rather than 8).
http://www.organizedplayfoundation.org/encyclopedia/pfs2edplayer-basics/, search for the header "Field-Commissioned Agents"
So you won't be able to select a free item now, but once you are 2nd level you will be able to select a 1st level item.
GM Wayfinder
As Field Commissioned you have no free item yet.
Who knows what will this be?
An attack in the desert?
Should your faithful animal not be by your side?
GM Rinaldo
Echo, a "boon" is a special ability or item that you can get a variety of ways. One way is by purchasing them with fame, another is to earn them on the chronicle of a scenario. You are only allowed to "slot" five boons per adventure, one of which can only be a faction. In my case, I am representing the Vigilant Seal faction, which is my faction boon. I also earned a boon on my first chronicle, which I am using in one of my other available slots. Arrus has a "companion" boon which gives him a couple of skill bonuses he wouldn't normally have.
All of the purchasable boons are listed in the Guide in the Factions section.

I don't have any famr, reputation or have any completed chronicles. I guess I'm starting with a clean slate. Thank you for the assistance. Im sure i will have more questions in the future.
No worries, that's actually part of why Wayfinder decided to run this - to get everyone a chance to see how things work. :-)
Variel Dardala
|
Yes, a lot of changes necessitated by the change in game rules, and others based on their experience with Starfinder Society and how things have evolved in PFS in the last ten years. There's a fair amount to digest. ;-)

Ya I tried a bit of SFS but the genre just isn't my thing. I'll likely be behind on some of the specifics until I get a day off but I'll at least get a post in.
GM Wayfinder
@echoxero
Again, I am still traveling the Varisian countryside (out in Romania) and so a bit less time to check on rules etc., but I am quite sure (I just like to re-read rules to confirm) that you get a "free" boon at creation.
The one that lets you "work" for one of the five factions (three major, two minor - I think that's it).
Have you chosen your faction yet, and marked the free boon? (again, sorry, I'll be back in "cities" and moving less as of tonight, and more time to check your character sheet and rules and such).
If not, you have information here (maybe check what the Factions mean RP-wise, and then check what mechanical things the boons of each faction brings to you, and then choose based on that).

@Fumbus: re. Alchemists--
For each batch of infused reagents you spend, choose an alchemical item of your advanced alchemy level or lower that’s in your formula book, and make a batch of two of that item.
So, if I have 3 INT, at 1st level I get 4 batches of Infused Reagents.
And thus can make 4 batches of 2 items, for a total of 8 items (that come in four duos). Is that it?
