Elflike actually. Sparky was adopted by elves who were hippy-like even for elves.

Quibble:
I feel like a previously unseen creature attacking is essentially the definition of a surprise round, which normally wouldn't allow full attacks.

However, since that's where we are, I still have Heroism up, not sure if the +2 would have affected the first fort save, and my flat-foted CMD is 33 (only losing Dex and Dodge bonuses, since Monk bonuses apply as long as you're not immobile), so one of those pulls wouldn't have worked.

Sparky is currently halfway down, his clothes caught on some adequate handholds, which are very sparse on other parts of the wall. If the mountain moves again he'll likely fall the remainder.

Climb 19 isn't enough to make progress, but not enough to fall either.
The 27 is enough and you descend 5 foot.

CASTING

Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S

EFFECT

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets one primary target plus one additional target/3 levels (each of which must be within 15 ft. of the primary target)
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw Reflex half; Spell Resistance yes

DESCRIPTION

This spell causes an arc of flame to leap from your fingers, burning a number of enemies nearby. It deals 1d6 points of fire damage per caster level (maximum 10d6). For every additional target the discharge arcs to, reduce the number of damage dice by half (rounded down). Therefore, at 9th level, your burning arc deals 9d6 points of fire damage to the primary target, then 4d6 points of fire damage to a secondary target, then 2d6 points of fire damage to an additional target.

Each target can attempt a Reflex saving throw for half damage. The Reflex DC to halve the damage of the secondary bolts is 2 lower than the DC to halve the damage of the primary bolt. You may choose secondary targets as you like, but they must all be within 15 feet of the primary target, and no target can be struck more than once. You can choose to affect fewer secondary targets than the maximum.

The burning arc fails to penetrate the magic resistance of the roper and dissipates harmlessly.

CASTING

Casting Time 1 round

EFFECT

Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Effect swarm of monkeys
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw none; Spell Resistance no

DESCRIPTION

You summon a swarm of screeching, mischievous monkeys. The swarm understands and obeys your commands and has the statistics of a monkey swarm. Creatures failing a saving throw against the mad monkeys’ distraction attack are deafened for 1 minute as well as nauseated. The monkeys attempt one disarm or steal combat maneuver each turn as a free action against any creature that begins its turn in the swarm, using your caster level plus your casting ability score bonus (Intelligence for wizards; Wisdom for druids and oracles; Charisma for bards, sorcerers, and summoners) for its CMB. Recovering an item from the monkeys requires a successful disarm or steal attempt against that CMB +10. An object stolen by the monkeys takes swarm damage each round the swarm is in possession of the object.

Two arrows of Boros hit the aberration, killing it.

With the creature defeated, you can proceed to the Pagoda of the Rat. This seven-story structure is the ratfolk's stronghold and seat of power at the center of Round Mountain. Here, you speak with Krella, a druid and the leader of the ratfolk. She is grateful for their aid in helping to secure Round Mountain and provides the Pathfinder repair team with detailed directions to the Astral rift nearby.

Krella speaks in a whisper, “While we wait for the repair team, I must caution you. We ratfolk have many eyes and ears in the tapestry. Your old enemies, the Aspis Consortium, have poisoned many of the tapestry’s people against you, but I sense that something far more sinister lurks just out of reach. Someone— or something—is at work in the tapestry, and has taken great effort to remain hidden. I fear that this is just the beginning of our trouble.”

Off to Mission III

The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment is dedicated to Korada, the Empyreal Lord of foresight, forgiveness, and peace. When Hao Jin brought the temple into the tapestry, a vermlek demon named Dakang infiltrated the temple and established a secret cult of Sifkesh, demon lord of heresy and suicide. Over more than three centuries, Dakang deceived his followers into paying horrific tribute to Sifkesh. About six years ago, Pathfinder Society agents revealed the vermlek’s true nature and set the temple’s worshipers on a path to unravel Korada’s teachings from Dakang’s perversions.

The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, crafted of white marble, rests atop a forested hill. Three aasimars stand guard before ornate double doors that bear an image of four spheres resting inside a lotus flower. Recognizing agents of the Pathfinder Society, the aasimars open the doors and lead the way to the temple’s garden courtyard.

The garden’s plants are brown and withered. A Tian man sits at the edge of a dried-up fountain, staring forlornly at the noble turtle in its center. The man has hazel eyes and a streak of white in his hair. Several temple acolytes are busy preparing incense, meditating, and inscribing symbols on the fountain.

One of the aasimar speaks. “This is Zhuang, our leader. After you Pathfinders defeated the demon, Dakang, and purged the temple of corruption, Zhuang was determined to set us on a better path. We now aid wayward travelers in the tapestry and spread Korada’s teachings. However, Dakang’s deceptions have always plagued Zhuang, and he is on the verge of abandoning the temple. He has been sitting like this for many days, and neither speaks nor eats. Will you help us with a ritual to bring peace to his mind?”

While the others speak with the Aasimar, Boros shares a nod with the angel-blooded guards. While his other half might not have been human, he still shared that same angel blood, and felt comfortable with the kinship he felt.

Boros walks around and seats himself down in front of the old man, taking a few moments to study him. He first looks at his outward appearance, then his face and his countenance. Finally, Boros looks into the man's eyes, to try to read his thoughts and look into his despair.

"We will enter." he says, matter-of-factly. "What must we do to keep Zhuang's mind safe? Us pathfinders can be efficient, but have known to be bumbly. I do not want to hurt Zhuang out of ignorance."

The monks start the ritual and you step through a mind portal and arrive in a warped version of the temple. It is a desolate place, locked in perpetual dusk and filled with anguished screams and howling wind.

You arrive in the crypt, where dozens of skeletal figures claw at one another trying to crawl their way out of overflowing sarcophagi.

Boros and Keriassa are too slow to close the lids on the sarcophagi, but Narayan manages to destroy the undead the old fashioned way.

The crypt fades out and the library fades in.

Two young acolytes sit facing each other on the floor. They read aloud from unholy texts, and tears of blood drip onto the pages from their unblinking eyes.

Boros manages to instill hope to the halfling and the kitchen fades out and you reappear in the garden.

With Zhuang’s demons defeated, he comes out of his twisted nightmares, with a headache, but no lasting damage. He gathers his pupils around him and begs forgiveness. Then he turns to you, bowing and offering his deepest gratitude. He states that the temple will forever remain a haven for Pathfinders and offers his service to their mission.

You've unlocked a special boost option for the Burst of Healing Aid Token.
