Hello everyone!!!! I hope everyone is doing well!! Thank you and welcome to my table of Reclaiming the Time-Lost Tear for Gameday VIII!!!

So a few things...

First off, please take a look at my ground rules listed under my GM profile here: CLICK
Hopefully I haven't scared you off yet... muahaha!!!

Secondly, please enter your character details on the first and (currently) only slide here: CLICK
Let me know if you have any problem accessing the slide. I'm known to screw up my google docs every now and then...

Next, we currently have just 3 players signed up. That's enough if I play an NPC pregen. I'm fine to do that but I'm also fine if one of you would like to control the pregen. If anyone is will to do so, please let us know. Also, I'll need you the players to chime in on which pregen you'd like to come along. If a fourth player does join us then, obviously, we won't need that pregen.

I'll require everyone to fill out your character's details on slide 1 and have your character sheet setup in your profiles by August 25 so that we can get the game started on time for August 26. Any questions?? If so, fire away!!!

Hey, bigboom, first apologies, I must have accidentally clicked the game thread when I went to post, and I've spoiled the beautiful blank sheet in the game thread.

I was posting an offer to play a pregen because I've no level appropriate characters. The offer was made with the usual caveats -- your permission, agreement of the previously signed up players, and I will happily bow out if a fourth player comes along with their own character.

I await your considered response.

Bigboom, looks like we're firmly in the 5-6 tier, but the scenario is 5-8. Do I take level 4 and play up? It doesn't seem right to take level 8.

Either way I'll go mystic. Should be a nice complement to the party.

You can't play a level 4 in a 5-8 because 4 isn't in the level range.

Yep, what Twitch said. The scenario is 5-8 so when it comes to the pregens, you have to play the character within the level range. So you'll have to go with the level 8 pregen for this. And yes, the mystic pregen does look like a good fit for this team!

No problem. Can you just put Keskodai in your subheader right in front of 'Male Shirren Priest'?

Alternatively, if you want to play him as 'Shohiraj' but using all of Keskodai's stats and mechanics, that's fine also!

@Shihiraj / Keskodai / therealthom, I just have one comment about your Keskodai character sheet. I suggest you copy and paste the character sheet provided by the Paizo forums community which is already formatted. This will help with the readability of the character sheet when viewing your profile.

Hi Graelz-23! I'm so glad to hear from you! I've been trying to contact you via this thread, the Castamir thread and through PMs. I was about a half-day away from giving up and assuming you had dropped out of the game but I'm glad you haven't!

To answer your question, yes, it is perfectly fine to play a pregen. Please do the following as soon as possible and definitely by Sunday, Sept 8 at the very latest:

Spanner: Please fill out your character's details on slides 2 as well as initiative and perception at the bottom of slide 3.

In calculating what subtier we'll be at, here are everyone's levels:

I'm always down to play up (SFS scenarios typically lean toward the easy side).

I will let those with real characters decide. They have more at risk.

Twich is probably better off playing down, because she's built as a pure caster in a system that doesn't reward that at all, and is also lowest level.

Looking good, Graelz. The only thing I'll need you to do is correct your character name on slide 2. This should reflect the actual character name of your -701 character. The information on this slide will be used to fill in your chronicle sheet.

My apologies. I thought I had already filled those out.

That's one for, and one against playing up. If it makes a difference, Keskodai will do his best to insure everyone, especially the lower level characters survive.

I'd rather play down, I think. Spanner is the other low level and I just had a bad experience playing up and I'm a bit gun shy right now.

Bluuu’s a level 6 too, so fine playing down if there’s a choice. Having lost another character playing up, I get the gunshyness

I just realized this PBP con is going to mid Nov. I though we only had a week. I was stressing out trying to figure out how we were ever going to meet the deadline.

Any utility spells the team would like Twich to make sure she has a spell gem of before we leave? She's a pure caster, so spends very little on weapons, and so can afford to buy spell consumables.

Can I slot boons on a pre-gen? Would they be the ones from the character who is getting credit?

From the SFS guide, version 2.0:

"A pregenerated character has boon slots, though such characters rarely have boons to use in these slots. In the event a pregenerated character does have such boons, such as Promotional boons or temporary boons granted by the adventure, she can slot them as normal."

Based on this, your pregen doesn't have any boons to slot and you're unable to use the boons from the character getting credit. However, promotional boons are allowed since they're tied to you the player, not your character.

May I also humbly suggest that Keskodai provides some healing to Twich? Twich is currently down to 7HP. Note that this poison damage is to HP, not SP.

I was moving in that direction with the healer's bond since Twich didn't speak up when requested earlier. Great minds....
