Aram Zey stands once more before the tapestry, a renewed light in his sunken eyes. “The Hao Jin Tapestry is stable at last. While you were performing your duties, I have reached a better understanding of the chaos you faced. The tapestry is still in dire condition. Lacking Hao Jin’s own magic, the tapestry has been using small pieces of departing souls to maintain itself over the centuries. This mechanism is depleting the tapestry’s water sources and spawning undead horrors. However, thanks to you, we have time to search for a more permanent fix. For now, get some rest, and—”

The former Master of Spells staggers back as a three-foot tear down the center of the fabric gouts sudden flame. Pathfinder agents flock around him, scrambling to assess the damage. A vein pops out on his forehead, and he yells sharply, “Pathfinders! What have you done?” He cuts himself short, taking a deep breath and muttering to himself, “Keep it together. Don’t take it out on the agents.” Frowning, he returns his gaze to the tapestry, his eyes darting wildly across its surface. When he speaks again, his voice is low and determined, “This new rift is no accident. Something is attacking the tapestry from the Astral Plane. Damage of this magnitude must have spawned hundreds more undead. Quickly, re-enter the demiplane and fend off the invaders!”

The party is able to overcome the chokers. The ratfolk eagerly lead the team to the Pagoda of the Rat. This seven-story structure is the ratfolk's stronghold and seat of power at the center of Round Mountain. The party is greeted by Krella, the leader of the ratfolk. She is grateful for their aid in helping to secure Round Mountain and provides the your repair team with detailed directions to the Astral rift nearby.

Krella speaks in a whisper,“While we wait for the repair team, I must caution you. We ratfolk have many eyes and ears in the tapestry. Your old enemies, the Aspis Consortium, have poisoned many of the tapestry’s people against you, but I sense that something far more sinister lurks just out of reach. Someone—or something—is at work in the tapestry, and has taken great effort to remain hidden. I fear that this is just the beginning of our trouble.”

The group is called to leave the tapestry by Aram Zey. He addresses the gathered agents (see above).

Zey calls the party to defend the tapestry. Invaders from the Astral Plane pour in through the rift while undead continue to spawn from the tears of the tapestry.

What shall it be? Undead or Astral nasties?

The Astral Plane wins 3-1.

The agents gather their wits andonce again plunge into the tapestry ready to head off the invading army from the astral plane.

A gaping hole mars the sky of the tapestry. Beyond the rift, dozens of strange vessels float in the Astral Plane, crawling with invaders.
Every surface of the tapestry realm stretches and tears as it tries to repair itself, creating more rifts in a slow but devastating chain
reaction. The vessels deploy invaders to wreak havoc as the demiplane disintegrates.

The group sees a group of large humanoids emerging to threaten ancient ruins in a desert. The agents zero in for the attack!

As a horde of towering humanoids approaches, Aram Zey’s voice booms. “Pathfinders, these giants may be simpleminded, but our allies can’t outwit them without your help. Get out there and teach them a lesson.”

Danicka's eyes widen at the sight of the big brutes. She takes a single step forward (five foot step), being careful to stay out of their reach. Then she waves her broom around and stammers out an arcane phrase, causing a blast of rainbow colours to engulf the red ogre. Colour spray, DC 16 Will negates (she spent 1 arcane reservoir point to increase the DC by +1).

The little gnome quietly glides behind the front-liners, just enough to get into range of the far two ogres. After another guttural abyssal incantation a little orb of sound flies towards them, bursting into a seemingly self-contained cacophony that nobody else can hear.

"Whoa they're big." Pai's voice, breathy from awe at the sheer size of these ogres, is faint enough that likely no one hears it. She darts around a column of rock and lets off a sizeable blast of softly crackling electric energy at the ogre that is farthest to the east.

The bomb sails through the air towards the green ogre providing a prime radius to splash onto the blue ogre.

Pai unleashes an electric burst at one of the orges. Arcing white energy cascades over the ogre, singing its flesh. Is there a save of half on that attack?

Arin lets forth a booming wave at the other ogres. The wave hits but they shake off the effects fairly quickly.

Danicka releases a burst of magical energy. A colorful rainbow of colors coalesce and wash over the orgre. The brute drops his club and stares at the pretty lights...Danikcak, the Ogres have reach so casting that spell will trigger an AOO. You can cast defensively, in which case I need a concentration check. Or you can cast and risk the attack. Or you can change your action. I assume you did not realize that square was thretened.

Haro tries to maneuver behind the ogre! Ogre will get an AOO IF Danicka's spell does not go off this round. If that happens, I will allow you to change your action.

ROUND 2

Rook lobs another bomb, catching the ogre in the chest, the bomb explodes, catching the ogres compatriot in the flames.

The ogres have 15 ft reach? Or 10 ft reach? She assumed they only had 10 which is why she is 15 ft. away. But if they can reach she'll instead cast defensively. Thanks.

Danika:
The ogres have 10 foot reach that I believe would cover Danicka's position on the map. Using this for reference. I am by no means an expert, so if you disagree let me know! Also, I figured you would be aware of the reach issue and was trying to avoid so you may post an alternative action if you wish. I am going to resolve round as if the spell did not go off but willing to retcon depending on your action.

@Haro looks like Danicka's spell did not go off, so your movement will provoke. You may report or, if you are able, roll for acrobatics to avoid.

Yelek's enlarged form swings at the attacking ogre, but his attack is shrugged off by the hulking ogre. I believe Yelek moved Round 1 but will use roll for attack of opportunity against green ogre below.

The ogres atatck!

The ogre red retuns Yelek's attack with a swing of its greatclub. The brute barely misses the enlarged nagaji.

Another oger green lumbers forward, taking a swing at Yelek. The enlarged blodrageer strikes first, taking advantage of his position. He damages the brute, but it fights on. The ogre misses his swing, no doubt thrown off by Yelek's rebuff.

The last ogre blue steps forward and attacks Mhazruk. The ogre smashes the alchemist hard in the shoulder. The blow rocks the half orc, nearly laying him flat!

Nope, looks like you're right. The diagram's straight forward. I forgot that large creatures mess up distance on the four diagonals, reaching 15 ft. in those corners even if they only have 10 ft. reach. No worries.

Danicka takes a careful step back, scurrying away from the reach of the ogre. She chants a few words and waves her broom at the red ogre. "Stop!" she squeaks meekly. She'll use a point from her reservoir to increase the DC by 1.

Daze. DC 15 Will save or he's dazed 1 round (only works on humanoids with 4HD or less)


Danicka calls forth her wild magic and creates a brilliant flash right before the ogre's eyes. The ogre blinks for a minute but is able to shake off whatever effect her spell may have had.

Reposted action for round 1 for Danicka, bold still acts.

Pai lets forth another blast of arcing electricity at the rampaging ogre. She singes the beast but good but he is still in the fight...and mad!

Arin, seeing Rook badly damaged, lends divine aid to the alchemist.

Danicka also draws forth divine positive energy to heal Rook. Prickles watches for enemy attacks.

Haro attempts to avoid the orge's swipe as he tries to get behind the ogre line. He flips over the ogre's strike and lands behind the brute. The foxy monk attacks it with his Sansetsukon. Haro strikes true, nearly felling the angry giantkin.

Rook withdraws from the reach of the ogre, taking a cautious step back and lofts another bomb. It misses the mark, but the bomb goes off near one of the ogre, burning it badly.

Yelek rages and strikes the red ogre. It falls in a bloody heap.

The remaining ogres attack!

Seeing the giant lizard take down one of their own, the giants attack Yelek. They both hit, bludgeoning the bloodrager. Yelek takes 23 damage.

The ogres, badly injured, are then easily overpowered by the agents.

Out of combat! Time to heal up and move on. Post actions and we will be moving to take on some undead tomorrow.

Assessing her teammates' damage, Pai calls out, chattering like a squirrel: "Does anyone need healing potions? I mean, after wands and spells and stuff, but seriously, we should heal up before we go fight the..." Here she pauses for a moment to gulp, and continues with a brief, slight quaver in her voice. "...undead, over there, or whatever. Yeah. Haha! Okay, what've we got here?" She busies herself with her pack, hoping no one noticed her timidity. A thought occurs to her: Hey, if Danicka can do it, so can I. Right? Right. Of course. Heh hehhh.
