Yangrit is frustrated and exasperated by how poorly everything is going here, what with trying to keep Craik grappled, the griffin attacking, and the pseudodragons not hearing all their fine speechifying moments ago. She shouts out to the pseudodragons: "We are NOT the egg thief's friends! We were just saying that we're bringing your eggs back! This stupid egg thief is here to make an apology--he'd better!-- and you can decide what to do with him. The rest of us are here to make things right!" She grunts with the effort to restrain the struggling pompous chef.

Since GM didn't say the previous grapple failed, she's going try to pin the chef this round.

Darksid'lous, Yangrit, and Graff (and anyone else who passes Sense Motive DC15):
Quite the opposite in fact, Graff! You realize from its behavior that this apparently juvenile hippogriff is just playing a bit rough with you, not really meaning to kill you. You think if you could calm it down, it would stop attacking (DC20 Handle Animal or DC18 Wilde Empathy).

Yangrit - Sorry, yes, you definitely managed to grapple Craik. And...

Yangrit, revealing some of her martial training, flips Craik over her shoulder onto his back, holding him down with an arm-lock that has him gritting his teeth and squealing with pain!

Sensing that the creature is only toying with them, Darksid'Ious change the tune of his representation to help his comrades taming the hippogriff.

Banners yellow, glorious, golden,
On its roof did float and flow
(This—all this—was in the olden
Time long ago)
And every gentle air that dallied,
In that sweet day,
Along the ramparts plumed and pallid,
A wingèd odor went away.

Handle Animal is trained only. Wild Empathy is a class skill.

Honorbound Emissaries

Handle Animal is trained only, and Wild Empathy is a class feature which I don't believe any of you possess. However, now that the adult pseudo dragons are here, you CAN negotiate with them! And with your most recent attempts to talk things over...

The pseudodragons give a small squak, and the hippogriff lands with a sudden thump on the wooden floor of the turrent tower. It gives a final cry in Miriel's direction, then turns and calmly walks back to the east to join its adopted family.

COMBAT OVER!

"You have returned the egg thief to us, as well as our eggs," one of the small dragons says in your minds, coming to land on one of the tarped boxes in the center of the room while the others collect the eggs from Darksid'lous. "We thank you for this. But perhaps this was fated. You have returned our children to us, perhaps now it is time for us to let a child leave the nest."

The other dragons fly over to the one who had communicated with you, chirping and growling in an intense conference for a moment. At last, the group seems to come to a consensus, and the central pseudodragon once again speaks to your minds.

"Last autumn, we lost another of our eggs. Out of our grief, we impulsively stole the egg of this young hippogriff. We cannot part with her, she has become too much a part of our family, but our elder fledgling is eager to see the world." With a chorus of chirps, the three parents command their fledgling fly down onto Hannar's shoulder. "Our broodling needs a traveling companion and mentor to show her the world. Will you protect our child until she chooses to return home?"

[i]What? That's it?[/b] Yangrit waits until everyone else in her party has begun to descend. Then, with a disgruntled shove, she releases Craik and jumps to her feet. She points a stubby finger at him sternly: "You stay there until they tell you to leave." She then follows the group down the stairs, giving one last glare at the asinine chef just before her head dips out of sight.

Honorbound Emissaries

As Yangrit shoves Craik down before the pseudodragons, they take flight once again, then swoop in and begin circling around the chef, rushing in to feign taking bites at him. He screams in fright and swears he will never steal another creature's young for food again. Maybe he'll even try being a vegan chef for a while, anything for them not to kill him. The pseudodragons apparently feel satisfied as they allow the chef to stand and flee from the tower back down stairs.

With that settled, the dragons thank you again for returning their eggs to them, and for allowing their fledgling to travel with you for a time. You return downstairs and report to the inn's owner, Cadmion, that the dragons have agreed to remain in the tower. Cadmion rejoices at this outcome, and rewards you with a platinum statuette of a unicorn worth 1500gp!

Anything else you want to ask Cadmion or Lomen (the house chef) about before heading off to your third location?

Lybram will quickly follow the group after whatever answer the innkeeper gives.

Honorbound Emissaries

"Dangerous?! Oh my! Well we did see her, but she didn't seem all that dangerous. She just set out that stack of flyers there on the table in the lobby. Feel free to grab one if you like."

Returning out to the lobby, you find the flyers and pick one up to look it over. The flyers resemble the business cards for the Green Market that Zeeva Foxglove gave you, but you also see that they
bear an additional phrase: “Free samples to foreign visitors!”

Linguistics DC10:
The flyers are forgeries, not actually produced by the advertisers for the market.

After examining the flyers, you then make your way to Kendall Amphitheater. Located in Cliffside near the South Shore district, the Kendall Amphitheater is an architectural jewel in Korvosa’s crown. Multitudes flock there to see plays, musical events, or non-violent competitions, but for now, the theater is quiet and the main entrance is closed. No one answers any knocks at the door, and you instead decide to make your way around to the back, where the door into the backstage area appears to be unlocked.

Map is available on slide 9.

Allowing her lip to curl in disgust, Yangrit continues her internal grousing as she brings up the rear of the group. Hooray. Another waste of our time. We could be going after the forger in the market, but it is far more important to poke around among a bunch of frilly costumes. "The plays of children are certainly lovely, the enthusiasm is captivating. Still, when people dedicate their life for art, we get enthusiasm combined with dedication, and that is where the legendary pieces come", Miriel continues her admiration.

As Darksid'lous steps up the stairs and opens the door from the storage room, you all can hear indistinct shouting and the sounds of combat emerging from beyond the heavy black curtains that keep the audience from seeing too much of this backstage area. It sounds as if Lybram's guess was likely correct--shouts of stage direction and clearly annunciated lines sound out beyond the curtains.

The voices you hear sound like they are coming from the next area to the north of you, which is currently hidden from view by the heavy curtains. You can push through the curtains at any of the "doors" marked on that northern wall.
Lybram, please feel free to attempt a Knowledge (engineering, history, local, or nature) check with a +2 luck bonus. You count as trained in the Knowledge skill you choose even if you doesn’t have any ranks in it.

Pain and Sadness are the true reward of the worthy.
Says Darksid’Ious in a smile.
As he heard the sounds of a fight he adds lets hurry!

He quickly moves behind the curtains.

Momentarily closing her eyes under her deeply furrowed brow to hide the fact that she is rolling them prodigiously, Yangrit bustles after Hannar, muttering sarcastically: "Surely we are not going to interrupt their rehearsal? Oh, surely we are! This will not reflect poorly on the Pathfinder Society at all!"

Honorbound Emissaries

Lybram:
You get a strange vision that this space is actually larger than it first appears, not in terms of what is above the gorund, but what is below it. Pillars and buttresses near the auditorium’s wooden base suggest that the theater is ingeniously secured above a wide depression in the ground.

As you push through the curtain and emerge on stage, you see a group of 12
performers scrambling about the stage, rehearsing several scenes at once. At the center of the stage, two human performers are trading flashy strikes with rapiers, while a gnome stands at the northwest corner of the stage, tugging nervously at the brim of his white top hat.

Perception, Perform (actor), or CMB check DC12:
The men in the center are practicing the choreography for a stage fight, not actually fighting.

Though Miriel does well to come on stage without being noticed, the rest of you appear plainly on stage. The gnome leaps up, shrieking “Closed rehearsal!” startling the stage combatants, and causing one performer’s sword to slip and graze the other’s arm.

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Blood spreads across the wounded man's sleeve, and the gnome rushes over toward you. "And who the blazes are you all?! The show doesn't start for hours, though I don't know how we'll get on now that Maximos is injured, thanks to you lot!"

Darksid'Ious claps his hands at the rehearsal Well done! That's quite a feat you've done with the fighting.

When seeing that their arrival have make the actor hurt themself, he adds Sorry for the disruption, but if I may say, Pain is a stronger emotion and it will add to your play.
Nevertheless I can heal your friend, free of charge, to make for the disruption.
As for our presence here, we were warn by someone that something will happen here. As the prediction has been true for the next previous two stops we've made we fear that it will be proved right here also.
Let us look around and be sure that nothing's wrong.
