"I can also work at disarming the explosives alongside Nadia. I also agree that a distraction of some kind would probably be beneficial."

GM Wolffauer |

"We don't want anything to panic the guests, but if you are up for going after the assassin and the devices, I'll back you" responded Radaszam. "It would be quite a victory for the Society to have you save the day, but only if you think you can."

GM Wolffauer |

You arrive back at the Skyreach Room where Radaszam greets quickly greets you. "I've informed the other Starfinders of the plan. They and my Obsidian Spiders will keep an eye on the guests while you handle Triloteya and the explosives." He hands you 6 mk 1 serums of healing, "Naiaj sent these after hearing of your encounter with the electovores."
Just then your communicators beep and you receive a message from Royo noting that this particular model of explosive is very stable to kinetic damage and can be safely disarmed by simply smashing it hard enough, but he notes that any kind of energy damage is likely to detonate them upon impact.
"Be careful confronting Triloteya, we don't want them to detonate those things before you can disarm them," Radaszam concludes before heading back into the party.
There are several-dozen guests present at the gala, in addition to Luwazi and the dignitaries you interacted with earlier, and a dozen or so service staff, most of whom are handling the food, drinks, and dishes for the event.
We are back on the gala map and you have just exited the lift. I'm not going to be putting a ton of tokens on the map, but assume it is pretty crowded. Because a lot can happen, we will be going in initiative rounds. If anyone wants to use a healing serum you can use two per round. You can spend the round scanning the crowd to spot Triloteya (Perception).
Round 1

Bilimi - SP 9/9 HP 9/9 RP 3/4
Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

"Sounds like a plan." Bilimi says as he pairs up with Nadia and begins discretely searching for explosive devices or the assassin.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

![]() |

DuQuesne clean his throat as he begins to approach the stage. "I’ll climb the stage as soon as the first seeker begins to move toward it” he speaks discreetly on his com unit, talking to Radaszam and the rest of the party. “Please check the staff first, maybe Triloteya didn’t remove her disguise yet”.
Round 1: double move

GM Wolffauer |

Bilimi scans the crowd and ascertains that Sanivvi/Triloteya isn’t in the main part of the room.
Round 1

Bilimi - SP 9/9 HP 9/9 RP 3/4

Nadia, what is your engineering bonus?
Dariox will advance into the room at a slight angle, looking around to see where the explosives might be hidden.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Move Action: move into room; Move Action: Perception check to Search, centered around Dariox.

GM Wolffauer |

Dariox is correct
Dariox finds nothing out of the ordinary near her.

![]() |

Nadia follows Bilimi and drinks one of the healing serums.
healing: 1d8 ⇒ 8

GM Wolffauer |

Beyond confirming Sanivvi/Triloteya isn't in the room, you spot nothing unexpected.

Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

DuQuesne moves towards the stage, casually kneels down to fix his shoes and takes a look around and under the stage, if possible. “Someone check the buffet. Someone else start moving towards the backstage! Good luck everyone! May Yaraesa guide us!"
Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Round 2
Move action: move your speed
Move action: Perception check to search

![]() |

Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

![]() |

I wish I hadn't gotten Arkady wrecked. That was stupid. He could be helping us search. Nadia thinks to herself as they search the room.
Are there any cameras in the room? I was thinking of trying a computers check to hack into them and try and search with those.

GM Wolffauer |

Nadia scans the room but doesn't spot any cameras. The holoscreen above the stage seems to be the only overt tech in the room.
Botting Dariox
Following DuQuesne's directions, Dariox and Marbles slip out a side door into the access hall to head behind the stage area. The hall is very utilitarian, with the occasional waitstaff passing through from the east then into the ballroom.
DuQuesne circumspectly searches one corner of the stage, but spots nothing.
Botting Bilimi
Bilimi makes his way over to the buffet with Nadia and searches the area for threats.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
"Looks clear here," he reports back.

Bilimi - SP 9/9 HP 9/9 RP 3/4
Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

DuQuesne crosses the stage apparently fooling around with his comm unit, maybe taking pictures of the room, and searches the other side of the stage and the table nearby, if possible. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Assuming Nadia mentioned to the party the absence of cameras: “If there are no cameras here, it means Triloteya will be in the crowd, waiting for the right moment to strike. Try to look for her near our guests, she might try to target them as bonus or something outrageous like that!”
Round 3
Move action: move your speed
Move action: Perception check to search

![]() |

Dariox walks down the corridor towards the far end. "I'm heading to check in technical area. Our unwanted guest may be there."
Double moving

![]() |

Nadia will move over by Royo and try to search among the guests in that area.
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

GM Wolffauer |

DuQuesne spots a device cleverly disguised within some of the A/V equipment on the stage.
Engineering to attempt to disarm the device. Plus a Bluff or Stealth if you want to try and do it without drawing any attention.
There is a lot less traffic towards the west end of the access hall as Dariox makes her way to the back. Marbles follows along behind keeping his eyes out for anything suspicious.
Nadia and Bilimi continue searching and making their way through the rest of the ballroom.
Round 4
DuQuesne - SP 6/6 HP 8/8 RP 2/3

Bilimi - SP 9/9 HP 9/9 RP 3/4
Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

![]() |

Dariox will continue heading towards the back. When she gets to the stairs, she looks up towards the top. She then continues up to the platform at the top of the stairs.
Double moving again.
Is the door on the map closed? If so, she would stop out of sight of anyone in the room.

![]() |

Trying to keep pace with Nadia, Bilimi continues to search.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

![]() |

DuQuesne speaks on his comm unit to the party and probably Radaszam. "I’m afraid we were right on the money! I believe I located one of the bombs on the stage. Nadia, please come here and see what you can do. This is completely out of my area of expertise!". He moves casually towards Ykis and tries to search for other devices near the guest. "Four more to go!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Round 4
Move action: move your speed
Move action: Perception check to search

Nadia moves quickly toward the stage where DuQuesne indicated. She flips open her wrist rig and gets to work.
Engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

GM Wolffauer |

Nadia - are you (or anyone else) going to do anything to prevent drawing attention to your work?

![]() |

Marbles will come back into the room and yell out into the crowd trying to draw everyone’s attention. Hey Zo! Is this good enough to get on one of your shows! he will try to jump off the table and do a flip over Ykris.
acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
I’m trying to draw everyone’s attention to marbles with the acrobatics but if I need it here is a bluff check as well
bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

GM Wolffauer |

Captain Marbles makes a spectacle of himself, crashing into Ykis. "What is the meaning of this?" demands Ykis.
Meanwhile Nadia nearly detonates the explosive in her hands. Saved only by the bonus from finding the instructions. The bomb is still armed.
Nothing further is discovered this round.

Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

“Radaszam, there still are 4 bombs here but we were able to locate only one of them, on the stage. Could your Obsidian Spiders help us look for the devices?”. DuQuesne sends the pictures he took earlier. “We found these instructions back at Triloteya’s room”.
He then moves to check the podium, sure the best place to place the bombs would be on the stage. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Round 5
Move action: move your speed
Move action: Perception check to search

![]() |

If the door is unlocked, Dariox will attempt to carefully open the door just wide enough to see into the room.
I believe that it would be at least a move action to open the door.

![]() |

Starting to get a little anxious now, Bilimi continues his search from more devices.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

GM Wolffauer |

Within the room, Dariox spots a curly haired human standing at the AV panel and observing the hall below.
The holoscreen above the stage, allows folks to see into the hall from the AV booth

![]() |

From what I can see, does she look like the woman that was in the picture that we found in Triloteya's room and/or the individual that we spotted earlier in the evening?

GM Wolffauer |

Yes, she definitely matches the photo and your memory of Sanivvi
Radaszam replies, "It will take a few moments to redirect them, but if you need the help we can do it." DuQuesne then spots a second explosive behind the podium.
Meta-game note, there are rewards attached to succeeding without help from the Obsidian Spiders, though failing altogether would be worse. The more bombs you find, the easier they become to spot (as you learn how Triloteya disguised them)
"Well, do be more careful," responds Ykris.
Captain Marbles and Bilimi spot nothing where they are.

Dariox - SP 12/12 HP 1/18 RP 2/5

![]() |

I figured there was something like that, since the obsidian spiders didn’t “activate” automatically - but we are doing kinda poor on finding the bombs, so...

![]() |

Marbles will move over by the buffet and keep searching
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Yeah I’m fine with bringing in help. The dice haven’t been loving us so however the group wants to play it.

![]() |

We have found two so far, and the GM did say that they get easier to find as you find them. I personally would vote for holding off for now.
.
Dariox will send everyone a text message through their comm units. [I have located Triloteya. She is in the AV booth above the room, and is observing everyone.]

GM Wolffauer |

Nadia messages back, [S#~~. Can you distract her? I don't want her setting these off while I try and disarm them.] She holds off on working with the bomb this round.

“There’s another bomb next to the podium! I’ll take a second look around the other side, maybe I missed it the first time!”. DuQuesne moves to the north, looking around the crowd, making sure the first seeker is not near the explosives.
Round 6
Move action: move your speed
Move action: Perception check to search
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Nadia will grab a nearby microphone and try to look like she is fixing the sound system while actually attempting to disarm the bomb again.
bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

GM Wolffauer |

Oh, dear...
DuQuesne spots a third device on the stage.
In the AV booth, Sanivvi looks down, and Dariox hears her start to say to herself "What is she...", just as an explosion rips apart the corner of the stage.
Boom: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d4 ⇒ (6) + (4) + (4) = 14 (Piercing + Fire + Burning)
Nadia - Reflex DC 14 for half the P+F and to avoid the burn.
The other devices to not go off, but the area with 15' of the corner is now considered difficult terrain.
